Must for Video Production
This laptop is a beast. I upgraded my MBP with 32gb Ram and the AMD 5500M 8GB Graphics. I edit with Davinci Resolve and its smooth with now issues. The fan on the other can get pretty loud when using chrome as I heard resource intensive.

Decent updates from older Macbook Pro models
While this looks a lot like the 5 year old Macbook Pro it replaces for me (and still fits my old laptop case), it does have quite a few noticeable upgrades over the old model. Obviously the guts are all new stuff--faster CPU, RAM and SSD. The retina screen stretches even closer to the edge of the lid, giving me more screen real estate to work with. The track pad is massive which gives plenty of space for gestures. The keyboard has a nicer feel to it. The biggest surprise is the speakers, which have surprisingly deep sound for being inside a laptop.
I am still undecided about the Touch Bar, and I haven't found a good use for it yet. The only con with this laptop is that it forced me to buy all new adapters for my external monitors, since all ports are now the smaller USB Type C instead of standard USB or Mini Displayport.

Worth the purchase for an organization that needs them
They have worked fabulously for our organization, very few needs to return any, they are workhorses with great battery life and flexibility. Be prepared with USB-C to displayport/HDMI adapters if you want to run dual monitors, most docks will duplicate, but not be able to be run individually without a $300 add-on
