Crucial 2.5" to 3.5" SATA SSD/HDD Converter is rated3.67 out of5 by3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not work, period, end of line. This is a converter in the form of a plastic box. Open the hinged lid and the idea is to just drop the SSD into the tray and close the lid. The tray slides forward to engage the contacts for the drive. Unfortunately, the tray does NOT slide forward far enough to actually make contact. I installed a Crucial SSD with this box and the computer couldn't see the drive. Replace the converter with another manufacturer's one piece converter frame and it worked perfectly. Don't buy this plastic box, it's a complete waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would not buy this againThe Crucial MX500 (great SSD) wouldn't make contact with the connectors inside this enclosure. It was properly aligned, but it took three tries to get a working connection. Using an external SATA/USB3 dock, two other SSDs, not Crucial, worked the first try. Something having to do with the mechanism that pushes the SSD onto the connectors wasn't compatible with the MX500. By pushing on the SSD from outside the enclosure after closing it, the connection was made, and the SSD went back into our iMac the third time. The process should have taken well under an hour; instead it was over two hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't by this type of converter.I have had to wrestle and wrestle with this converter box because instead of just being a way to mount the drive in the computer so you can plug your SATA cable into it...they made a thing to plug the hard drive into then the SATA cable plugs into the box...Well it is almost impossible to get the hard in that box correctly and get it working...still in the process myself. I saw online they sell another type that you just set the drive in and plug your cable right in...that would have been much easier.
