A friend ordered one from another site and was surprised and disappointed that it didn't include the adapter part of the plug. We then looked at Dell, typed in the laptop model and found the cord. We both ordered and it came exactly as expected and found it to be a good price with sale and coupons. I always need a second cord so I can keep one at home and one in my laptop bag so I never forget it.

I've had it repaired by dell, battery and motherboard changed and even bought another regular adapter but the port just isn't consistent at working. I did find that my USB-C port works great with other chargers like the macbook's. I'm quite glad that dell has a 130W USB-C Charger as I didn't wanna send it back to dell and pay for subpar repairs. Even if it's not "officially" listed as compatible for the XPS 15 9560. I can say that it works great. It hasn't broken anything in my computer yet and the BIOS knows that it's a 130W

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works with Inspiron 16 Plus 7610 Works fine so far with the Inspiron 16 Plus 7610 via the only Thunderbolt 4 port. Works great so far. Dell didn't list my Inspiron 16 Plus (7610 laptop as a compatible model on this adapter's product page (only the newer 7620), so I called their tech support for confirmation. It took some back-and-forth and escalating to a supervisor, but they eventually confirmed it would work with this specific laptop and that the laptop's Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port could handle the full 130W power input without any issue to the laptop, as it could take up to 130W. NONE of this was listed in any online documentation or specs for this laptop or charger available to consumers, but I figured a Dell laptop with a 130W OEM barrel pin charger and a Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port had a good chance of working with this 130W Dell USB-C power adapter. I just needed Dell's confirmation before I purchased it. Using this USB-C power adapter for dual purposes (best bang for the buck): 1) To power an Anker 555 8-in-1 multi-port hub and, alternatively: 2) As a backup power supply for the laptop in case the Dell OEM barrel pin power adapter ever fails. Sure, I'd lose the only TB4 port to using this charger, but at least I could keep using it until I could get a barrel pin charger replacement. I called Anker first who confirmed their hub would only draw the power it needed from this 130W USB-C adapter without issue, as the Anker hub uses up to a 100W power input. The Anker hub is far more affordable than the expensive TB4 docks, as long as you don't need to daisy-chain two external displays. Note: When using external hubs like this, if your laptop has a discrete GPU like NVIDIA, then you'll likely get a low-power adapter warning when you try to pass the filtered 85W of power through the hub to the laptop. In this case, the Anker hub takes up to 100W from the external power adapter, uses 15W to power the hub and connected devices, and only passes the remaining 85W into the laptop to power it. The 7610 laptop did function like this without pushing it (didn't test it doing more high-powered tasks), but you'll likely want to use the OEM 130W barrel pin adapter in tandem like I do. Dell recommended the same. In fact, the laptop wouldn't clear the low-power adapter warning in Windows if the USB-C power was plugged in first through the Anker hub. The solution is sequence dependent: I had to plug the Dell OEM 130W barrel pin adapter into the laptop first, and only then plug in the Anker hub powered by this 130W USB-C adapter second into the laptop's TB4 port. Then the laptop was "happy" (no warnings). I was looking at third party USB-C power adapters with PD. However, since the USB-C Power Delivery (PD) spec typically goes up to 100W from what I've read, it was nice to find this proprietary Dell USB-C power adapter engineered to overcome that 100W limitation and work with both my external hub and my power-hungry laptop. I had some Dell Rewards that were about to expire, so I was able to apply them against this and it was rather affordable that way. Overall, this power adapter seems great so far. Only the lack of documentation from Dell was a problem and chewed up several days until I could get a solid answer from them on compatibility.

It's the same one that came with the Dell computer. I purchased it so I can have one at work and one at home. It's also a backup, in case one fails (they can fail over time) or if I accidentally leave it behind while traveling -- I did that once before and what a hassle it was to get a replacement. I recommend labeling the power supply and other items with your contact information too.

One won't receive the "Darth Vader" warning message about power being insufficient (it isn't with either, but the message will appear with the lesser wattage power adapter) and the XPS won't auto tune down to lesser performance.

It would be better placed next to the round plug-in port (my laptop takes either) or on the other side, next to the back end where the screen hinges.

It is much more convenient and never forget to bring the power adapter when I travel. I put this unit in the laptop bag. So far it has been working tell and hope it will last long. It also works on my other office Dell precision laptop.

Normally there's not much to say about a charger, but in this case, the fact that Dell managed to squeeze 130w into a USB-C charger is pretty impressive! For those that don't know, USB-C is normally limited to 100w, and I'm sure for a "normal" USB-C device this would indeed run at 100w, but Dell has added their own flair on top of normal USB-C to allow 130w of power. This is incredibly beneficial for me, as all of my devices use USB-C, so I am able to buy a couple of these power adapters and use them for everything I own! My previous laptop that used more than 100w had a barrel jack, which really limited my charging options, so I'm very happy to see the USB-C options for new laptops.

The USB C plug has a long stiff area that sticks out of the computer when in use. It is far too easy for this to get pressure on it from other objects and break either the plug itself or the socket into which it goes. I'm on my 3rd one of these bricks as a result. And god help you if you have kids that could get anywhere near your computer. Needs to be redesigned such that there is close to zero ridgit material hanging out the side of the computer to avoid breaking the plug or socket.

Both me and my girlfriend's dell laptop charger broke within the same week, and we bought them around the same time. I dont care if the cord has to be a little thicker, make the wires more durable. I didnt bother trying to file for a warranty claim because she was told her warranty didnt cover accidental damage. Eventually she was able to get dell to replace it but I do not have the same warranty.

This seems to be priced a little high for what it is, but we had an issue with a third party power supply that had similar output ratings, so maybe there is some "Dell magic" that only have... It would be nice if the site let you pick your computer by service number and then get a list of the appropriate accessories that could just be clicked on and the part ordered. Finding it and making sure it was the right one was more annoying than the price. But we're happy with the performance, size and weight of it.

My 4-star review is based on the fact that the XPS laptops work just fine with 70W power cords. But the laptop continuously gives an "error message" when you use a power cord other than the Dell 130W AC. Additionally I was having issues with my refurbished laptop shortly after purchasing it. And the first "recommendation" I got from Dell Support was "Only use Dell's branded 130W AC Adapter". I understand that Dell wants to sell accessories. But the monetary waste and the landfill increase from buying multiple new power cords just because you buy a new laptop is both ridiculous and unnecessary.

For some unknown reason this laptop stopped recognizing the original power supply that came with this laptop. Additionally the power connector got loose. I tried to charge this laptop another way: through the thunderbolt port using a non certified charger: it worked, but it was very slow: it was taken the whole night to get to the 100%. I decided to take a risk and bought this charger that technically was not meant for using with this laptop. It worked! It works well and charges fast.

However, one morning when I hadn't had enough coffee, I forgot I had already plugged it in and I plugged in a second one. That's when the time portal opened. I was hurtled back in time 50 years. Lost, alone, and confused I was taken in by this woman, and we developed a relationship. She had this cute little terrier named Yanomi. One thing led to another and she ended up becoming pregnant. Long story short, turned out she was actually married... to my father. There was no way I could have known, because my mother had tied shortly after giving birth to me. But just as I made that discovery, another time portal opened up thanks to some other hapless sucker made the same mistake I did. In a panic, I hurriedly left a note with my apologies and returned to the future. But now I understand why that terrier was so glued to me when I was a child. Apart from that, the power supply works fine. I just wish there was a better mechanism for wrapping and securing the cords.

I did compare prices online first. A genuine Dell adapter costs a little more than a knockoff replacement, but not twice as much. And Dell parts are shipped much faster than other online purchases. I am happy to buy genuine Dell products because of the quality. It's a different story with my second laptop made by a different brand. For that laptop (which is 5 years old), I have gone through about 6 or 7 adapters by different overseas manufacturers, all in the $20-$30 range, and they all wear out and need replacing.

It had a barrel connector, not the USB C needed. Always order the OEM adapter, if possible (Dell doesn't carry the 330w adapter for my x17, sigh). It's the only way you will KNOW if it's the right one.

I purchased this one because the old one had failed after three months of use. Either make the end more rugged or make the USB-C cord unpluggable from the body of the power supply so that it can be replaced independently.

The photo, in particular, had me worried that I would receive a larger, bulkier (but hopefully feature-equivalent) adapter compared to the slim adapter that shipped with the laptop. I've had this happen with previous Dell laptops. However, no worries. The adapter I received looks identical to the original. I haven't tested the wattage of the power delivery, but so far so good. I do wish that Dell would be clearer with their model numbers and product photos so it's easier to order and be assured of receiving exactly what you want. Also, I received the adapter within a week of ordering it, although the estimated ship date was about 2 months out. I suppose this is COVID-related, but be aware that availability estimates are unreliable.

However, it does not work well for pass through charging with an Anker USB-C dongle that skims 15 Watts off the top — the XPS keeps complaining about “insufficient power”.

The only way to get a matching white one is to buy another laptop. The charger works fine, no issues there.

This USB-C cable is very susceptible to breaking with constant usage (wrapping - unwrapping of cable for frequent travelers). With a separate cable, the cable could be replaced instead of the whole power supply, which is VERY WASTEFUL.

The previous adapter from a month prior recommended for my unit by a Dell representative was INCORRECT. Now the crazy process of returning. Get a few opinions from Dell over the correct adaptor for your unit if you don't know. Adapters don't seem to last very long.

I bought my Dell laptop last year and the charger had exposed wires, I didn't know that I was supposed to return it. It works but don't know how long it will last. I am also worried that the laptop won't last that long.

On the downside, there are 2 USB ports on my laptop and the new cord with the USB plug instead of the former kind of plug uses one of those ports, leaving only one to use for everything else. I tried an external hub splitter (or whatever) so I could use more peripherals and it and the laptop overheated.

I have not had it long enough to see if it’s going to falter the way the first one did, the one which came with the computer. The first one which came with the computer, has trouble at the connection to the computer. If it’s not in a very specific and untouched position, it will not charge the computer at all, as in not receiving information that it is connected. This has been very problematic because one can think they are charging their computer only to find out that they are not charging their computer.
