It doesn't lock in place so if you connect a USB at the back without holding the docking, it pushes it out of the mounting bracket and it falls down. I mean this is basically 2 screws with 2 holes on a bracket....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Realistic review of Docking Station attach Plate. Very sturdy and attaches to the monitor easily. A bit pricey for what its is but I have had no issues with it. My only gripe is that you are limited to placing the dock on the left side of the screen. Also the dock itself only attaches in two positions, one vertical, one horizontal (as opposed to four). But this is due to the dock that I use haveing only two diagonal loactions for the attach bolts that allow it to hang on the station. But the design makes up for this as it allows you to easily 'slide' the dock off and back on again, making occasional access to the cable ports on the dock less finnicky.

In my installation, it forced me to move everything and buy a wireless keyboard. MORE MONEY than I wanted.

This is specifically made for Del monitor stands, therefore I had to build my own adaptor to fit this to a generic gas spring monitor holder I have for my Dell monitors. Also with that price tag, I wish it came with some sort of shield that would conceal the load of wires coming into the hub.

If you have two monitors, it off sets the height so they won't match any longer. So if you have two monitors using the dell stands or even worse, and duel monitor stand, it's off. The other thing is the monitor isn't as tight as it is with just the dell stand with a dell monitor. It's seriously as the designers don't actually use their products.

That was fine as I had the tools but ... why not make the holes elongated or add more of them for other configurations like TV wall mounts seem to do? Otherwise nicely built and comes with hardware needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Had to modify to make it work Not exactly what I needed, I have a standard VESA mount for my Dell monitors, so I knew I had to do some modifications to this (using a dermal tool and hack saw to cut away metal that wasn’t needed . It was the only way to handle the way the hub was designed and not have cables running all over the desk. I think if you had the appropriate Dell Monitor Stand this would be a decent design, however this does not work with all Dell Monitors. Oddly enough all Dell monitors can use VESA mounts (more or less).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, but screen won’t stay at the very top. Installation was easy and it works very well. Just the extra weight from the dock adds up to the screen and therefore the monitor won’t stay in its highest position anymore rather goes back down to about 90% of the highest point (about 2cm / or just under 1 inch). This is with a 27” UltraSharp U2719D using the Monitor stand that it came with. Maybe I’ll attempt to tighten the spring at some point, but for now it works. It’s not a big issue but not a perfect 5/5 either.

The alternative method worked perfectly and the quality of the material is solid, I just wished that it was sold separately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Desk Space Saver Overall it's a solid mount that whilst pricey for what it is yet is well built and compatible with vesa (it has the screw holes) and the Dell Clip in system. I did resort to modifying the mount as my monitor wasn't listed as compatible out of the box due to the raised inner ring which interferes with the stand. However, an hour later with some tools means I have a product that works. It's worth mentioning that the compatibility listings for this product are irrelevant since it lists computers rather than monitors. Overall, a bit pricey but the modifications I performed shouldn't have been necessary. Does what says on the tin.

Ideally just a flat plate should be used, but there are many forms on the mount to accommodate other things I suppose. Geared specifically towards Dell monitor with factory desktop stand. Didn't appear to offer any a mount that fit third party monitors specifically using vesa mount, or it wasn't easy to find. It still works, but with my dual monitor setup, the monitor with the mount is about a 6-8mm lower than the other. Not the end of the world, but it's the only thing I see.

For the price I'd have expected to find the Vesa holes so that the bracket could be used to mount any non Dell device (i.e. a mini pc) to a Dell monitor. Unfortunately this is not the case, the bracket is intended to be used with Dell devices only (like the Dell docking station). I have drilled myself some Vesa holes to mount my mini pc on the bracket...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can be modified I used this for my Dell Monitor Model S3221QS. I knew it was not 100% compatible with the monitor when I bought it. My hope was that it could be modified to mount my Dell Thunderbolt Dock - WD19TB to the monitor. Indeed it was able to be modified by cutting the opening to be larger. Attached is the picture of what I did. Ugly, but it worked ;-) The only thing holding this back from 5* is that Dell did not offer a mounting kit that actually fit my Dell Monitor out of the box.

I bought this due to a response from Dell to another review that assured compatibility with generic VESA mounts however that is not the case. While standard VESA holes are present, there is a 3 dimensional bump out which prevents attaching a monitor arm, docking station kit, and monitor together.

I tried installing it on my LG Ultrawide monitor, however the mounting kit did not fit (LG 38WN95C-W 38 Inch UltraWide with VESA display). 1) the mount covers the input/output ports that are located on the side that the mount holds the dock, and 2) the bracket (male piece) that fits into the monitor (female) is perfectly square. The LG is not perfectly square as it has rounded corners.

An unexpected bonus - the wall mount and a behind-monitor mount are completely separate, so you technically get two products in one, but that's only useful if you have two work stations, each with a dell docking station, and at least one with a dell monitor stand. I am just one dell docking station away from this so I could utilise both at some point, which will make the price a bit more justified. Then again, dell docking stations are very pricey so maybe not. I have rambled on a bit so thanks for reading if you've stuck with me this far.

The compatible monitor list can be found on the product page but you have to dig for it. So I now have two of these; one that works perfectly on my U2720Q, and one that won’t work at all on my S3221QS. Just want all potential buyers to be aware of compatibility.

While they can hold the larger Thunderbolt docks it's not possible to use them with the laptop on the side of the monitor because the dock cable is too short. If they made a version of this mount that help the dock on the right side of the monitor instead of the left then you would be able to use it with a Thunderbolt laptop.

While the instructions were well written to mount on a Dell a monitor, it did not offer details on mounting the kit under the desk. However, the kit was easy to figure out. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mount is fine. Instructions need improvement. The Dell Docking Station Mounting Kit is a nice add-on to help eliminate clutter on your desktop. The online description and instructions do not, in my opinion, make clear that the two pieces included in the package are to be used separately: One piece fits to the VESA mounting holes behind a monitor; the other piece is intended to be screwed under a desk or to the wall. Two included screws are fastened to the back of the docking station and slide into the slots on either mount. Theoretically, one could have a desk-mounted docking station in one location, a monitor-mounted docking station in another location, and the right hardware to execute both set-ups. Based on my experimentation, the monitor mount can be made to work with just about any monitor and you have some options for orientation. I've mounted mine to a vertically oriented non-Dell monitor and used spacers I had on hand (not included) to then add the VESA mount for my monitor arm. The docking station mount descends from the VESA mount, so the docking station slides in from the side rather than from the top, but so far, this has worked just fine, even as I raise and lower my desk.

The mounting kit for my Dell docking station is a great. - easy to install. - fit perfectly onto the back of my monitor. (DELL U2719D - most of the wires and the docking station are now discreetly hidden behind my monitor.

I actually broken my Philips 34" monitor trying to get this bracket attached. I then bought a Dell P3421W Ultrawide and this does not fit. Extremely disappointed.

Something to be aware of -the monitor mount is designed to snap in between the panel and its original stand. It does require some modification to use with VESA monitor arms. As such, calling it a VESA monitor docking station mount is accurate but misleading. It does screw to the VESA points on the panel and then snaps onto the OEM stand. Tin-snipping the lower snap mechanism off and removing the lower beveled bit of the VESA plate allowed it to work with my "easy release" VESA mounting arm and subsequently cleaned up my desk and made the input cord's length less of a problem (they're not long enough to route in VESA arm cable management and have a long plug --the weight of which pulled down on the USBC/TB connector on the laptop).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made, but not compatible for every monitor The MK15 docking station mounting kit is a well make product and mounts easily. There's one issue though. It doesn't work with all the monitor stands. I purchased the new U2723QE monitor after purchasing the kit and the kit is not compatible with the stand since the stand has a round extension and the mounting kit has a square hole smaller than the round extension. However, as soon as I got the display arm, the kit worked perfectly. By mounting the docking station on the back of the monitor it really cleans up the desk space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't work It doesn't work. I downloaded the drivers, and connected it to a new XPS 15, with two new 27 inch monitors. And, the monitors came on. Everytime I restart, it is a mess. Either neither monitor works, or one monitor works, or none work. I can go to the Extend Display and I get random results. Sometimes I can turn them on, other times I can't. I spent hours over the weekend trying to get this to work...argh.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from REQUIRES DELL MONITOR STAND!! I bought this to use with my ergotron arm with VESA, but found I had to dremel off the dell specific bumps in the metal and locking mechanism. Either I missed this in the details or it was not in the description page. Now that it is in place I am happy with it. It was the only mount of this kind I could find, so I don't think there is another option to consider that is branch agnostic.

To make it work with your monitor and rig setup you will need to tinsnip away most of the metal -- this will void warranty but i was able to make it work and have the docking station mounted on my three monitor stand.

If you have two monitors, it off sets the height so they won't match any longer. So if you have two monitors using the dell stands or even worse, and duel monitor stand, it's off. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent design, robust structure Solid, well engineered, fit for intended use in mounting a docking station. So why did I return the device? Because the docking station for which it was to be used (also returned) was incompatible with my new computer. So while the mounting kit earns 5 stars, the sales rep (who told me the dock was compatible) earned 1 for the unnecessary time, effort and churn he caused me. So without a docking station there was no need to keep the mounting kit.

Still a very good product. I am looking to get monitor arms for my monitors to replace the stands, so I will be keeping this

I have a WD22TB4 dock, I contacted Dell sales to see which monitor is compatible with my dock and this mounting kit. I was told that the Ultrasharp monitors were compatible with the dock and the mounting kit. Everything arrives, mounting kit doesn't fit into the monitor. If you search the compatible monitors for the WD22TB4 dock, you'll see results... however you won't see the models listed (except P1917S, this is the only monitor compatible with this dock and kit) and the results you see are based on the stats of the discontinued models listed. This was confirmed vie a phone conversation with Dell technical support.

However, when purchasing it I was not aware that it is not compatible with monitors that are mounted on swivel arms. Unfortunately I did not read all past reviews as there are some that state they had to cut off pieces of it to work with an arm. The product description should clearly state that it is only compatible with stand mounted monitors. It would also not be difficult for Dell to update the design or offer some sort of adaptor kit to make it compatible with arm mounted monitors. Overall disappointed with this purchase.
