Works great but need humidity
Saw comments about jamming -- In the wintertime/low humidity, paper sticks together and jams. We have a humidifier in the office, which reduces jams to near zero. Don't know if this is a printer or a paper problem.

Yes, you can go online and get what you think is a cheaper drum but why would you want to buy a knock-off from an unknown source when for only a few more dollars you can get one that you know will perform as expected from DELL, a known and reliable company.

We have been using Dell laser printers and copiers for several years now. We have never had a serious problem. The drums last for well over a year on each of our printers. When we need a new one, we receive it within 4-5 days of placing the order.

Imaging Drum for Dell 1720 printer
I had previously bought a knock-off replacement (thinking I could save money) & even verified w/the manufacturer that it would fit. It didn't! Took 2 weeks to get here too! I ordered one from Dell. It fit & functioned perfectly, was cheaper & it was here in 3 days! What was I thinking?! All printers & computers in our office are Dell. The only one we'll use. Dell always stands behind their product quality!

So easy, so easy. Instruction were great. Delivery was quick and responsive. Should I have paid less for an OEM brand? HMMM. Crisp clean output again. I wish I had received a return label to recycle the old.

Revived Dell Laser Printer
Once installed the printer is back in action but it seems to be noisier when printing. Also I am experiencing more frequent paper jams than before.

Imaging Drum Keeps Failing
Imaging Drum keeps failing. This is the third failure since original purchase date of printer on January 2008. My 1720dn printer is used sparingly yet each year the drum develops small pinholes, which affect the print quality. I do not recommend Dell printers.
