Don't do it.
Sucks so far. Had to by this as the crappy battery on my Dell work laptop doesn't last more than a few hours. Dell is not compatible with other portable batteries unless it has an AC outlet. So after finding that out, had to buy the Dell portable battery. Just got it, plugged in all day to charge. Then went to charge my laptop, charged for 15 minutes then died. Got hot and doesn't seem to be taking a charge now or giving a charge. Dell, really?! Waste of money.

My secret super power !
I have a back up power bank for my mobile devices - for my phone and tablet. Even one that can jump start my car (courtesy of my dad), however, not enough or designed to power or recharge my laptop - and not even remotely "that portable". I am so happy to have this Dell Notebook Power Bank Plus – USB C, 65Wh - PW7018LC. It is heavier than your usual phone or tablet phone bank, but it is portable. When i first got my power bank - it was not charged, no power - I had to charge it, after 2-3 hours it was fully charged. It was able to extend the power to my laptop while at school when I would be trying to find a spot to plug in to a wall outlet already - this product has really been great! I am not giving up my other power banks for my smaller mobile devices, but when I travel with my laptop, this power bank travels with the laptop. I showed it to my dad, and he wants one for his Mac. The product does not come with it's own charger.

Big and heavy and no way to charge it
Does not provide all that much time for my XPS 15, for how big and heavy it is. The brick that came with my XPS 15 cannot be used to charge this power bank. I tried to charge it using a usb to usb-c cable and it did no work. That means I it pretty useless - it can only be used once. To charge it up requiers another substanctial purchase of an adapter with a usb-C out. Terrible design. Very disappointed.

Great Power Bank for your USB-C devices!
I haven't come across too many power banks for USB-C computers that work well, so this one was a nice surprise! It does get a bit warm while charging the computer, so something to be aware of, but has 5 white lights that show the percentage of battery power left as well as an orange blinking light when the battery is running out of juice. The USB-C cord is actually built in, so you don't need to worry about losing it, but I worry a little bit about just wear and tear on it and I'm not sure how it would be replaced.
It also does have the ports available to charge other devices like your phones or tablets with the typical USB cord. It packs quite a bit of power in a sleek design and have recommended to friends (as long as they have a USB-C Dell computer).

Great, fast and sleek battery pack
The dell power pack is great, very happy with its performance on keeping my electronics charged. I travel a lot for work so I routinely find myself scavenging for outlets and they are usually not very convenient, especially at big conferences all around the country. The connector wire is sleek and sturdy, easy to plug in and charges very quickly. The ports are easily accessible, although only one USB 2.0 port. Can recharge my iPhone easily especially when on the go in about 20 minutes to give me enough power to keep going. Overall, highly recommend for form, look of the device and ease of use.

A powerhouse that lacks refinement
In terms of pure power, this power bank is very robust. In the short time I've had this, I've ran a laptop off it for 15 hours in a charge. I've also been able to charge a Galaxy Note 10 4.5 times on a full charge. Power is definitely not an issue.
However, at the price these go for, if I'd have purchased this instead of being sent this for review, I'm unsure if I'd keep it.
Here's why:
1. This does not come with a wall power brick to charge this. You're expect to either use the power source to your Dell Laptop or your own USB C charger.
If you use your Dell Laptop power brick, it slows rhe rate ar which this gives off a charge to the laptop.
If you use an external source, you'd had better be using a very robust charger like the one I show in my photos, or it's going to take you 7+ hours to charge this. Absolutely do NOT use a smartphone charger.
2. Even if you use a beast for a wall charger like I have, it still takes nearly 4 hours for this to full charge.
3. My unit has to be plugged in more than once to start a charge, at times. I have no idea why this happens, but I've noticed it 3 different times when I've plugged it in to charge.
4. I'm not a fan that you can't tuck away the directly attached USB C that's used to charge your laptop. To me, that's absurd to have that long cord dangling when not in use. Furthermore, I don't like how it's attached because it just encourages wear.
In sum, this is a massive power bank that can fast charge with the best of them. However, it lacks refinement I'd expect for this price. If I'd paid for this, it would likely go back.
With that said, as long as you have an external wall power brick that's similar to mine, I do feel comfortable enough to recommend this as an option, but buy it on sale for at least 20% off since it lacks a wall power brick for charging.

A Great Companion
This powerbank has alot of power to charge your laptop or other devices on the go. The 18000 man will fully charge your laptop fast. You can also charge your phone at the same time. It is a bit heavy but it is worth having with you for long days away from home or work. It's about the size of a small notebook so it wont take up space.

I had been researching power banks for my laptop for quite some time.
Many didn't provide the power I required, were overpriced, super large or just plain ugly. When I came across this Dell power bank plus I was instantly interested because first and foremost it is a name I know well and trust.
The power bank is super simple to use. Just plug and go. It also has extra ports so that I can charge my smart watch or phone while I charge my laptop.
It is a bit larger and heavier than I expected. As well the charge time when powering more than one device is decreased somewhat.
Overall it works as stated and provides all day power to my multiple devices. If it were smaller or lighter it would be a perfect product.

no way to charge this device
I recently bought this . The quick start guide says to "charge the device before first use and includes a pic of the power adapter that states "power adapter: not included" there is no apparent way to charge this device and if you are brave and patient enough to ring Dell you are given the run around with people who don't seem to understand the question "how do I charge the device?"!! . I see several questions on the site about "how do I charge this?" My advice....dont waste your money!

The most over designed unusable device from Dell.
Try to find a use for this device. No charging cord. Look at the description of uses: you can plug your normal charger into this and then plug this into your laptop to charge the laptop - why not just plug your laptop directly into the charger.

Handy power bank
I grabbed this for my son to use at school. It took us a few minutes to figure out how to charge it. There isn’t a charging cable included and the directions aren’t super clear but you use your laptop power cable to charge it. It does a pretty decent job as a back up power supply and will charge anything with a usb c port so it has that versitality as well.

Convenient. If you’re using your laptop and it’s battery is low (under 10-20%) your won’t get a full charge out of this brick if you continue using your laptop. If you turn it off completely and let it charge you might be able to get 100%. I haven’t tried yet. But still a must have. Almost wish I bought 2.

I got the Dell Notebook Power Bank Plus to charge my Dell XPS13 and it seems to work well. It's a good heavy duty power bank that gave my laptop several extra hours of use which is nice for work or using on the go.

Not what I expected
I guess I had unrealistic expectations for this product, if I would have known it would only provide 1 full charge for my laptop I would not have purchased. It's a nice battery pack, works well, charges my laptop completely, once. Then I have to recharge it. If that's what your looking for then it's great. I expected to be able to charge up laptop a few times, expensive for 1 charge.

High Quality and Fast Charging
I have been using this power bank for about a month now, and it is fantastic. Although it is designed with Dell Notebooks in mind I mostly use this for my phone on the go. I have a Galaxy Note8 and this power bank can recharge my phone about 6 or 7 times before it needs a charge itself! Make sure you own the proper charger for the Power Bank as it does not come with one. I use the one that came with my Dell Laptop which is a 65W Type-C charger. My only complaint is that the Type-A USB port on this does not provide a sufficient charge for my other devices. That maybe because I think it was designed as more as a USB pass-through for while it is connected to my Laptop. So if your looking to use this to charge various devices, I'd stick for use with Type-C USB devices.

It works but gets hot
Works perfectly with my Dell. I bring this pack with me everywhere I take my dell. It nearly doubles my battery life. Once I get home, I plug the charger into the battery pack and plug the pack into the laptop and both are charged and ready to go the next day. It does get very warm, and this is my only complaint.

Great Power Backup
I bought this especially for my XPS 13 9370. The somewhat versatility of having to leave my phone charger home as well was compelling. 65W is a lot for a battery pack this size to give out, I mean, I was skeptical , based on shear size alone. It is well made, encased in aluminum, very sturdy indeed. Five small white LED's double as the battery meter and power button. It charges as quickly as the power adapter, which for this model is 45W, so this battery pack can easily supply.
I had a chance to test it today. I used my laptop until it had discharged to 20%. I had fully charged the pack two nights before and the indicator was still at five bars, no problem of immediate drain is a good sign. I continued using the laptop, the pack fully charged it up to 99% in 1hr and 15min before it went dead. There was an orange light blinking on the LED array but continued to charge for about 15 min before switching off. It did get slightly warm but absolutely nothing to complain about. It also charges my wife's Dell XPS 13 9350.
It fully charged up in about 2hrs with my laptop charger, that's just great! I use any one of the three ports to charge my phone also. Was worried about the beastly power delivery standard but it seems to work fine. I'm very happy with the quality of this product and It's a no brainier to use.

Excellent Battery Solution
I use this with a Dell 7390 2-in-1 and it doubles the battery life. I get well over 15 hours of use from the internal battery and the PBP -- over 30 hours total time. I can go two working days without plugging into the wall. I have two areas of improvement 1) I cannot plug in a USB-C cable into the available USB slot and have distance between the PBP and my computer. I would appreciate having the PBP in my briefcase/backpack and have my 7390 on my lap, desk, etc; 2) The only way to charge the PBP is to bring the 65Wh standard adapter along and it would be helpful to have a direct charge option for the PBP instead of having to bring along the power adapter. Overall this is still a 5.

NOT FOR Precision 7730
i was told by different people that this work as an extra battery to help extend run time ( A LITTLE ) when unplugged from a power source. Other said will NOT work. I found will NOT work with thunderbolt 3 port. NO matter what BIOS or drivers i have.
MY 7730 seems was NOT made to be able to take power into laptop from that port. even if the standard says thunderbolt 3 port can be used to power a device or receive power.
so do NOT buy it for a 7730. BUT IF your unit charges using a usb-c connection. I think you will be happy with this battery pack.

Great Travel Companion & Very Powerful
The Dell Notebook Powerbank worked great with my Dell Laptop. It gave my laptop 25-30 hrs. charge. I was able to charge my iphone or Android simultaneously & very quickly.
here is a little paper in the box with it, about flashing the BIOS. If your not familiar with using your BIOS, just search more detailed instruct on any search engine. It sounds more complicated than it is but make sure you do it (instructions that come with it, are very vague).
It's a little heavier than your average power bank but this isn't average. It has a lot of power to charge with. Almost an unbelievable amount. I like the color & appearance also. Very nice & very powerful!

Where has this power bank been my whole career!? The Dell Power Bank has been a win for me, especially while traveling. Too many times I have had to search out a place to charge my laptop, and now before I head out I just make sure that the power bank is charged. It is heavy, but the product is of great quality and quite compact, so it fits easily into a pocket in my laptop bag. It has helped to extend my work time on the road by about 15 hours before needing to recharge. I did have to separately purchase a wall charger for the power bank.

As someone who’s used power banks for phones, I appreciate having one for my Inspiron 7620 2-in-1 that’s guaranteed to be compatible. While I don’t frequently work away from an outlet, it’s nice to be able to work outside when I feel like it and not worry about draining the on-board battery. And being able to charge both the bank and internal batteries by connecting them in sequence is pretty nifty. Pretty satisfied with the product overall.

I had a Dell power bank before for my previous Latitude laptop which worked well but the new laptop uses USB-C for charging so I had to buy this new power bank. I think this is a better option since UBC-C has become more universal & it can be used for different devices, Dell or other brands. When I first ordered the device, the shipper lost the item but I emailed Dell and they sent a replacement as soon as possible. Dell solved the issue immediately.

Great laptop power bank
It has great battery life and as USB-C out cable is inbuilt, no need to get another one and remember to take it. The only thing I wish, if the same USB-C inbuilt cable could be used for charging the power bank, It would be icing on the cake

The USB C (input and output) is a plus add-on to this power bank (versus the previous generation), making it different. It helps to charge other USB C devices other than DELL XPS 17, with 4 USB-C ports.

The product is very heavy, and I'm certain it is a good product for the right application. I had a hard time figuring out how to charge it. It is not what I thought I was purchasing - so I am going to return it.

Good backup battery bank. Heavy though, and it in the instructions says you need another adapter, which was never stated in ad. You can still charge by USB but slower

You can't charge it and use your laptop at the same time, unless you have a laptop charger handy. It's way too expensive for that.

Dell USB-C Laptop Power Bank Plus 65 Wh - PW
Charged up completely in less than 3 hours..lights on power button provide battery status…comes with a cable to connect to a power source but no power adapter is provided..I use my Dell power supply to charge the power bank and go from the power bank directly to my Dell XPS…works great.

Needs longer legs
Used it to recharge my phone and laptop. It charged my phone to 97% and my laptop to 75% before it was exhausted. I am a little disappointed that it doesn't have a longer power life.

It doesn't work...plugged in and "charged" for multiple days. Indicator lights suggest that it is receiving power but doesn't hold it and won't charge laptop

Just the power bank I was looking for!
I like to work outside early in the mornings and this power bank let's me accomplish that. I like that I can connect my laptop charger to it then connect the power bank to my computer, allowing me to charge both at the same time. Would buy again.

No Bank - No Charge - No Help
Bank does not stay charged longer than the laptop itself. When I am on the go, by the time my laptop dies, so has the power bank. It provides no extra life. It seems to only work as a regular charger, while plugged into the wall. Very disappointing with performance, especially for the price.

Quality made ergonomic device but also expensive and a little short on power
This is a quality made device with a nice ergonomic feel and a handy clip for securing the cord around the unit. It is also helpful that you can charge the power bank while also charging a laptop from the power bank or charging two devices at once.
Nevertheless, we were disappointed that the power bank would not fully recharge our XPS 13" laptop from a full battery charge (especially given the hefty price). For the price, this unit should have had its own charger. Also note that it can be difficult to immediately discern which ports are input or output ports. As a result, we inadvertently tried to charge the power bank using a standard USB wall charger when it can only be charged from the laptop USB charger.
You can also inadvertently plug your device into the power bank charging input port and mistakenly think it is charging your device. Lights can be confusing since a 'no power light' state can either mean the power bank battery is charged or the unit is unplugged, thereby, mistaking a charged power bank for an unplugged power bank. Unit should also have lights to signal any improper or non-functional connection.

Powerful, but drains relatively quickly.
Maybe not a fair rating, but my XPS 17 Laptop which has a weak battery drained this charger relative quickly ~3-4 hours. I can imagine this is going to work well for ~1/2 day with any laptop 15" and smaller, just fine.

Unit appears to work as advertised. The only issue was with management of expectations. When received there is no way to charge the unit. I had to purchase that separately. This was not explained when purchasing the item. As I was leaving in two days there was no time to obtain the charging cord from Dell, so obtained it from another vendor in my area.
