Less than 10 months later, it swelled up and was bending open the chassis of the laptop (you could see inside the machine).  As the warranty of the laptop had just expired, Dell would not honour the part warranty of the replacement battery.  I have been forced to buy a new battery.  Time will tell how long this one lasts...

Not going to return the battery though because we have other laptops in our organization that we think this will work for.

It is NOT a 3HWPP battery and it will NOT fit a laptop that needs a 3HWPP battery like the Inspiron 7506. Dell needs to properly index their web site so the right battery comes up in search results.

Great to have long battery life again but I have had several episodes of laptop problems since battery was installed by a professional battery store. Problems are mostly related to laptop not going into sleep more. Once, when I took the laptop out of my computer bag it was extremely hot. I am afraid it could catch on fire. I have searched the Dell website for information but have not found any helpful information. Another episode included the computer not powering up correctly. I had the light in the front flashing 5 amber followed by 2 white. A few times the screen has not powered up. Hard resets have resolved those problems, but I am concerned they will keep happening.

I was trying to find the best battery for a Dell laptop and this was one came up when I searched the Dell site by the model number. I paid top dollar for it, but it did not fit at all. I now do not trust Dell and will not buy parts from them.

Alas, the motherboard seems to fail with warning me when it's time to recharge, and I get a notification only a minute or two before. Maybe needs some internal calibration with a new battery...

Replaced the battery myself after watching the replacement video. Had to be very careful when disconnecting the cable from the old battery as it is very small and sightly delicate. So far, battery performance has been excellent, and I am very satisfied with buying an original quality battery from Dell and would recommend it to others.

The battery doesn't come with the connector wire, so if the existing wire is damaged, the pull strap on the wire is prone to breaking, then you'll also need to order a replacement wire.

I bought my laptop while I was London so that's where I initially reached to get the replacement. But I'm currently in Barbados so they were unable to assist me. So I contacted the Dell Barbados website and they could not supply the battery. So I contacted Dell USA and had to use a freight forwarder service (that had ota own unique issues to get the battery to Barbados. Ad such I was without my laptop for about 3 weeks. This is the laptop I use for my small business so it was difficult. I happened to still have my Dell desktop which I bought in 2013 so I was able to limp on that thankfully. I must admit I was surprised my Dell Latitude battery failed (swole to twice original size) in just 2 years or so. Luckily it did not leak. Good news is the replacement battery was correct and was easy to install, once I finally received it.hope it last longer than the original. Any chance of getting a more functional Dell Barbados website??

Well its a genuine product, after looking at all the options online of the third party batteries, and never really knowing the quality I went Dell genuine parts. Battery fitted fine as you'd expect, and a laptop that would last 3 hours maybe, or 30 minutes on a full charge, seriously, you never knew! now lasts an age, I can forget about the charger most days! No buyers remorse spending the money on a genuine extra capacity battery, works like a charm!!
