I make labels so often it was easier to just have a writer both places so I didn’t have to move it back and forth. I really like this product! It has taken me some practice learning how to use the program to create the labels but it was worth it. I love that the labels I have created are saved & I can print again or modify if needed.

My only complaint is you have to squeeze pretty hard to get it to work. This is a very manual simple label maker. If your only occasionally labeling things this would be great for the price. If your serious about your labeling I would go with a more advanced product. I received a free product for the purpose of my review. Opinions are 100% my own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic and functional I used these labelers back in the 1970s, and found them very useful to identify personal belongings, notebooks, file folders, etc. Then the product disappeared from view for decades. I just found it again at my local store, and bought it both for the nostalgia factor and because it, like a mechanical typewriter, can still be useful to me. It works just like I remembered it: turn the wheel, and press the trigger. There was no such thing as a user manual in the package, but it wasn't really difficult to understand how the thing works. The labels are still like I remember them - strong and durable. This thing gets the job done, creates sturdy plastic labels, and is so old-fashioned that the labels really stand out.

I knew exactly what I wanted and it was nice to get what I wanted and what I expected. I also bought a 3 pack(red, green, blue of additional labels.

Has nice features: stand-up tray for holding flats while weighing, tare rate, etc. InstaRate software that could show the postage rate on the computer is 32-bit compatible only. Other more sophisticated Dymo/Endicia postage software is 64- and 32-bit compatible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not worth it I bought one of these to replace my old Dymo label maker, which finally broke after more than 30 years of excellent service. This new model is junk. The characters are tiny and don't line up well, spacing is uneven, quality of manufacture is terrible. After a month, I threw it away. I really don't want one of the electronic type, but looks like this is the only traditional labeler they make. A waste of money.

It is far more durable than the older Rotex product that I have, and produces more consistent letters. I like the size of the letters as opposed to the other product. I agree that the letters are a little far apart. I recently dropped the device onto a concrete floor from 4 feet. It was undamaged.

I thought how cool to get my own label maker so I can finally keep things straight. Boy was I shocked to find out that this wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Very hard to use. The letters wouldn't show up, the dial was hard to turn, the clicker wouldn't click unless I pushed really har and when it came time to cut the label, well it just didn't want to cut unless I clicked about 3 times. I do not recommend buying this product if you are looking for an easy labeling item. I would rather write out my labels then ever use this one again.

I remember when EVERYONE at school had a DYMO and everyone labeled EVERYTHING!!! This product is not only fun to use but beneficial in helping to get and keep organized. It was fun using this with my grandson and labeling his brand new "first year of school" items. He was estatic!!!

My children can see where everything goes and helps me not have to nag so much about what goes where in the home. We homeschool, so this is a dream machine when it comes to labeling trays, folders, bins, books shelves and more. This is a product worth having for any organizational buff. When I received the Organizer Express through Smiley360, I decided I was going to turn it into a learning tool. I labeled his toys, his drawers and placed numbers 1-10 on the refrigerator. He has been learning so much since I did! The letters and numbers are embossed which makes it easy for his little fingers to not only see but also feel each letter individually. Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like this product To me, the secret to using this product is to realize there is a separate path for 3/8" tape. Before I did, the letters wandered all over the tape. The instructions might have done a better job pointing out the small channel for small tape. I am only disappointed that this product is being phased out. I cannot find other embossing wheels like I used to (Special characters, vertical letters, etc. One other reviewer pointed out this product was plastic. Well, they were plastic 45+ years ago when I got my first one, and just as "flimsy" back then. Sure, a metal one would be great, and I would probably opt to may for one of higher quality, but for the $, the 1540 works acceptably. Just get to know the product and note the issue about properly loading 3/8" tape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific Product This is my second Dymo. My other one, which was almost 13 years old, was still operational, but I had computer problems so I purchased the newer model 450. While I haven't had a chance to try all of the features, what I have used has been impressive. This is one of the most reliable products I have ever had experience with. I mean, it never gives out. What a great product! I would highly recommend this to anyone who is in the market for this type of product.

Perfect for labeling bins in my craft area, folders for organization, and since the kids are back in school, it has come in handy labeling their supplies! I was pleased at the convenience of finding refills available at many of my local stores, and the range of colors available to help with organizing! My ONLY negatives on the product is that the wheel is sometimes hard to slide, and it is not quiet. I can only label for so long before my family is looking at me like I am crazy.

The letters are also v e r y w i d e l y s p a c e d. It is poorly designed and I will return it. Avoid this product if quality is important to you. I will go back to using my 35 year old Dymo label maker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Won't work for Ebay or Paypal postage They say this will work with Ebay postage but it is too short. Ebay and Paypal postage will run off the end just a little and the bar code that goes in the Recipient area also runs onto the Postage area so to use the Bar code, you would have to put it right next to the Postage part of the label. I got the 99019 labels and they work just fine. I am giving this low ratings, but only because I wanted to use it for internet postage, but you can't with Ebay and Paypal....only ones I tested it with. Dymo, please don't advertise this for postage since it can't be used for it the way people would think.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Addicting and Nostalgic I'd had one of these when I was a kid. The design has changed slightly, but still is as fun and addicting. Thankfully, the design change has resulted an a higher quality version. Mine as a child had letters break off. This one has the tabs for the letters protected so it's not possible. I've not had any issues out of this one. It is so fast and easy to use I didn't even bother with the instructions in my excitement to try it. My 8yr old daughter was also able to use it without being shown how. The label tap is strong and thankfully, imprinting doesn't require too much force as I have carpal tunnel. For times when you don't want to use an electronic label machine or want to gift one to kids or those who don't like technology, this basic one is ideal. I'm a Smiley360 Member and regularly complete surveys to see if I am a good fit for various brands. Products are then sent to me for free in exchange for an honest review and sharing tasks such as feedback on social media.

My sons are always bickering over what belongs to who and now I am able to label everything and there is no questions. Also I am able to label my authors on my book shelf so a quick glance at my bright orange labels and I can find the book I am looking for. I have used the 450 Twin Turbo at my hom and Ofice for several years. It seems by most of the reviewrs that they are expecting the Dymo Printers to print postage for them. WRONG!!! The DYMO PRINTERS ARE ONLY THE PRINING DEVICE USED ON A POSTAGE GENERATOR SOFTWARE, SUCH AS STAMPS AND INDICIA. KEEP THIS ON YOUR HEAD BEFORE INVESTING ON THIS EXCELLENT PRINTERS. I like this product vs. the others I've tried in the past. I would suggest buying more label paper, it tends to run out really fast. Great for labeling school supplies. I wasn't quite impressed though. You need to click very hard for it to emboss and sometimes it won't emboss all the way still. My daughter (8 wasn't able to click hard enough so it made her upset. She thought she would be the one labeling everything, but she ended up giving up and not wanting to use it. So now, I get to use, which is fine it is just a bit tricky. Very old school. Sometimes while I'm using it, it almost feels like it is going to break because you have to go down on it so hard. I would prefer a digital one myself. But, I do enjoy labeling still. Even if it is a pain sometimes.

I'm really frustrated that there's a die cut oval for use with lanyard. Tacky and annoying. In the way of my event logo. Can't find labels without this "feature".

The inside flap of the packaging had very helpful step-by-step instructions with pictures that showed how to load the label cassette and how to use the label maker itself. I loved its shape! It reminded me of a futuristic space gun (or a revolving restaurant haha :D The label maker itself was lightweight and the handle, though wide, fit comfortably in my hand. I also loved the blue & green design. The finished labels had easy to peel off backing and stuck firmly on surfaces. After using this, I felt quite accomplished (and a little bit too pleased with myself) and thought, "This must be how Martha feels when she organizes stuff!" :D Even if you are no Pinterest fiend, this would certainly make organizing less of a chore. It was quite addicting too! It was hard not to put labels on everything :D Some areas of improvement: I wish it had more characters included. I wanted to try emoticons but there wasn't a colon or semicolon included. Maybe in the future have the option for interchangeable character wheels? This is probably due to my inexperience as well but I found that I had to trim some labels so that the spacing before and after the words were even. The constant clicking of the wheel can eventually annoy whoever's in the room with you :D *A tip for best results: Make sure to squeeze hard enough so the letters get embossed deeply. I was very excited as I have been wanting a label maker for some time now. I received a bit ago and at first glance it didn't seemed easy enough to use. It's some what of a pain to have to turn the dial for each and every letter and got stuck quite a bit. It would not cut off easily which was frustrating to me. I did like the provided pink option ribbon but it was a little hard to read the words with that color. This will be more of a toy for my teen daughter. I'm thinking I would have liked the electronic one much better and a little let down that wasn't the one I received as that seems would have been an easier one to function

I was excited to recieve this in the mail but my husband, mother in law, and I were kind of bummed to get the 3D label maker. We were hoping for the more modern model! I used this 3D kind 20 years ago. The functionality is still there and it is a very manual process. The letters do not always line up on a straight line and you have to squeeze firmly to very firm to have the imprint be visible and solid. Also I noticed some labels I made peeled up after application. None the less I had a great time labeling some of my daughter's school supplies! It took me down memory lane for sure using the DYMO 3D label maker!

It fits perfect in your hand, is super light, and extremely easy to use. You just turn the dial to the character you want to be printed on your embossed label, then, once you have it in place, you just squeeze the trigger. You want to make sure you squeeze the trigger firmly or the embossing won't come correctly and you won't be able to read the label. The biggest difference between the DYMO Organizer Xpress™ and other label makers is the embossing creates a raised 3D effect on the characters instead of a smooth surface on the label. I love how easy it is and that you don't need any batteries. It is simple enough that a kid can use it. My grandmother had one of these label makers for eternity so when I wanted to label some items in my kitchen I thought this was an obvious choice. Economical with a fun, vintage aesthetic. After using it a dozen or so times the mechanism started to feel different when I squeezed the handle and it completely stopped working altogether. I guess you get what you pay for.

When I received this Dymo Organizer express I didn't realize how convenient this label maker is. It requires no batteries, you can change the color of your tape as often as you want, the tape cost is much more affordable too, and all you need to do it turn the wheel and press. I was able to label all my craft supplies in half the amount of time when I used my battery operated one. Both label makers are a must have, it all depends on what you need them for. I work at a preschool so I'll definitely be using this to label the children's names on their writing books, journals, cubby, etc. I also love how compact and light weight this is :) I received a free product for the purpose of my review. It's very easy to use and efficient for simple labeling. If you want a more versatile label maker that can be used for scrap booking as well as more decorative DIY projects I would recommend you use the label manger 160. It's a better product and does much more.

I thought I was having some problems with it, but then I read the setup instructions and found I wasn't doing things correctly. The instruction were easy to follow and I read them in a couple of minutes. After that, everything worked just fine. It reads weights to a tenth of an ounce, which is great. It has an auto shut-off feature which is also a plus. I didn't even have to put batteries in it, I just power it with the USB cord. I really like this scale. It's small enough to put on a book shelf which is where I plan on storing it when I'm not using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works. I bought this scale for one of our shipping stations. The first 2 I had work great. Put the package on the scale, weigh it, then on to the next. This latest one shuts off unexpectedly after a few packages. After it shuts off, we have to restart everything. We ship approximately 800 packages through that station alone. This auto shut down is very time consuming. I don't see anything to change it or shut down that feature. If you ship alot of packages I would not recommend this scale.

The rubber foot or base pads are essential to have the scale sit still and balanced. I had it one day out of the box and lost one of the rubber foot pads. I luckily found it and reattached it and kept it in a bin where if they came off I could locate them. My 18 year old son used it at home for a science test and lost another one of the pads and we can't locate it. They also are not available online.

I found the design of the Organizer Xpress to comfortable and easy to use. One issue I had after changing to a new embossing label is that the tape did not seem to feed consistently. Several times it would stamp letters on top of each other so then I would have to start over, but majority of the time they came out fine. I found these labels to be super useful in my spice cabinet. I have my spices on a tiered rack but it's hard to tell what each spice is unless you lift up the container to see the label (which is around the middle of the container). Easy solution with the Organizer Xpress - I made a label and stuck it to the side of the lid, now I can see what everything is without even picking up a container! When I first got this I was surprised because it looked about exactly the same as the ones back in the 70's (when I was a kid, and I didn't know they still made them. The picture directions on the package were not that easy to follow but the machine isn't that complicated, so pretty easy to figure out without directions. When I first tried to make a label I couldn't see the white printing on the tape and I thought great, the inks dried up and it isn't going to work, luckily my husband remembered how to work them and showed me that you had to press and hold, after that I had no problems seeing the letters. It is time consuming having to click back and forth through all the letters and I had to use scissors to cut my labels from the machine. When I went to stick my labels it was difficult to get the backing off, even with long fingernails. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this product when there are more advanced, easier labelers out there. I'm going to let my 6 year old son play with it with hopes that it will help him with spelling.

I agree with the other reviewers: the printing quality is dreadful, the instructions non-existent, the tape nearly impossible to insert. Dymo should read the reviews on its own website and 1redesign this product; 2)send personal letters of apology to all those who have bought it.

I wasted several rolls thinking perhaps I fed the tape in wrong; however, an old roll I had works fine. Also, the green is much lighter than previous. The glue has improved though as it is much easier now to remove the backing.

I was beyond excited because I like to think of myself as a crafty person and thought this would be perfect to get my things organized. I'm also the mom to 3 kids and in an effort to teach on of them to read had planned on labeling things around the house to help with sight words. First of all if you have anything of any length to label it takes FOREVER to get it complete . If I actually tried to label everything I had planned I'd be afraid I'd get carpal tunnel from it. Secondly there is no way to proof what you're typing or even see where you are in your word. Again I have 3 kids, I get distracted easily. I personally didn't even mind the spacing of the letters which I know a lot of people do. But I didn't even know the product was supposed to cut the labels till I read some of the other reviews. It never cut through the labels. Maybe I just wasn't squeezing with enough force. As far as the quality of the labels I would be embarrassed to label anything with a label I printed from this. It was awful. Unless you squeezed the handle with the force of God it was hit or miss if your letter even made an imprint. I haven't even tried to reload it since I don't plan on using it. It is definitely not worth the hassle or the headache of trying to get this product to work. I received this product for free for the purpose of my review. My opinions are 100% my own.

You press the handle and hear it click then no more clicks as you press again and again. Remove the roll and it clicks every time. Tried the second roll and it never moves. I bought this model because the illustrated examples on the packaging show neat and tightly spaced lettering. The truth is anything but. The letter spacing is random and about one and a half to two times the illustrations. Shame on Dymo.

The only downfall was the backs can be easy to remove at times..but if you tap the scissor dial lightly then again to cut it helps with the removal of the back of strip. The kids enjoyed making labels for all kinds of projects at home. Keeping organized is easy with DYMO!

My labels come out clear every time, I don't think there is any special trick to using it. I simply line up the character I want to print, squeeze the trigger and move on to the next character. I found the sticker on the back easy to peel off as well. The product isn't particularly loud and it comes with one roll of tape to get you started. Overall I'd say this is an excellent product that works well. As a blogger companies sometimes provide me with samples of their products, and in this case, Dymo provided me with their Organizer express to test and review and to give my honest opinion of the results

If you have large hands, fear not; I have fairly large hands but yet the hand grip is surprisingly comfortable. Best of all, I don't need to worry about batteries. I read a lot of complaints about how the letter isn't as large as it used to be but if you haven't used one of these before, you'll never notice it. The letters are more than large enough to read unless you trying to read it from across the street. If you have some serious labeling to do, then perhaps a different device would be more suitable for you. But if you're looking for a novelty device or something for fun yet functional, this should fill that itch.

I labeled an entire set of shipping tubes, containing machine shop tools with their fractional sizes. I am happy to find a product which does not rub off or smudge & is easy to read. Even leaves a little tag to peel off the backing. So, treat the DYMO gently, and you will enjoy the value of the product. I wish they made a pro version with metal parts.

I got my newer model that lasted about 2 months. This is my second one in less than a year. Be gentle with this one and watch how you change tapes. Too bad I could not find a detailed instruction sheet on line.It's cheap and does the job, albeit amateurish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Won't stay on I ironed these on all my mom's clothes as she is in a nursing home. Took me about 2 weeks to get them all ironed on about 30 pieces of clothing only to find out they are now falling off! I use other Dymo labels all the time and have never had any problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Basic Label Maker I used this label maker to label packing boxes. I found it to be about the same as the first dymo I had in the 5th grade, a long long time ago. The letters and numbers seem to be too far apart and the labels and I am not sure if they will stay on the boxes for long. l received a free product for the purpose of my review. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use I received a free product for the purpose of my review. Opinions are 100% my own. I absolutely love the DYMO Organizer Xpress. It was so easy to use. Just turn the dial to the letter you want and squeeze the trigger. When you are done just turn the dial to the scissors and it cuts it for you. The label maker has 49 characters to choose from.

The label maker is easy to use, convenient, and exceptionally handy. The reel is easy to read and use and I like that you can pick from a variety of styles and colors for the refills. I like the easy to handle device and grip. I like he one handed design. This is even simple for my kids to use!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made cheap, broke the first day. I was really excited to receive this free as part of a product testing campaign. Sadly, this product was just a huge disappointment. Came with no instructions or any type of manual. The label cutting feature does not work unless you pull on the label while pushing the cut option. Alot of the time the letters would come out halfway embossed. And after the FIRST day of use, it broke! Completely stopped embossing making it useless. My advice? Stick with the printed label makers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! When I received this product I was ecstatic! I can type basically anything I want in, and BAM it prints it out! It's very simple to use, you turn to the letter/number/etc. you'd like to use, click and continue. When you get done you turn to the scissors symbol, and click, and BAM you have a label! I use this for all of my labeling needs! Great product! Definitely worth the cost! **I received this product in exchange for an honest review.**

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for basic labeling! I received a free DYMO Organizer Xpress for the purpose of my review and opinions are 100% my own. This label maker is easy to use, even though sometimes you need to press harder so the letters come out nicely, since sometimes the print is not perfect. The labels stick nicely and it works great, so for basic labeling of kid's stuff or at home office it comes handy. I highly recommend it if you want a basic and affordable label maker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not worth my time I received a free product for the purpose of my review. Opinions are 100% my own. I am disappointed in this product. I don't know why anyone in this day and age would buy a product that is completely manual and is a pain to use. I have tried other labelers and this one was OK, for being manual. The other one that I have is all digital and has a keyboard and is so much simpler to use. I would buy this if they didnt sell easier ones, but this one is not for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They don’t make them like they used to I had to buy at least three.... thinking that this would be the last time, but nope. Like with all my other label makers, it started to jam up or it doesn’t emboss correctly. My family used to have one, and that worked perfectly for years. I miss this easy to use label maker and love the vintage look of it. But I can’t keep spending money on defective items. Please Dymo, please try to make a new and better product.

I have been using this for the last month to help organize my daughters room, kitchen items, and my own room. It works great and not once gave me an issue. I would recommend this to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from simple, but letter spacing W A Y to wide... cheap and effective, but with the spacing between letters so wide, it limits how i can use it. seems that the spacing is set up just to use more label tape than necessary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy and Fast to use! I received this label maker a few weeks ago as a freebie from smiely360. I get lots of great freebies and really need help organizing them all. I was and still am thrilled that I won this product. I was in major need of a label maker - and kabam!! I got one. I have begun labeling anything and everything. It's easy to use, anybody could get the hang of it. This is not a terribly expensive product and for us budget conscious moms, it fits into our plans. Great product. You might a little practice to use it.....but practice makes perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I received this Dymo Organizer Xpress labeler from Smiley360.com for free. I was so excited to get it. I am an organizer by nature so I couldn't wait to put this to good use. It came preloaded which was great. You can open it up and start labeling right away. My son was starting school just a few days after I got this product, so I had a great time labeling all of his school supplies. It is easy to use, I didn't even read the directions. It's great for small jobs..If you had to label tons of stuff, I probably would go with an electronic labeler..just bc it can get tiresome turning the dial to each individual letter. Another thing is all the letters are capitalized..this wasn't a big deal to me, but it could be for some.

When I first received this product, I was a little overwhelmed but it was so easy to use. It came in really handy because I was in the process of moving and it made labeling boxes seamless!!

The old Dymos usef to be great, but the new / current ones do things like cut clean through so you can't seperate the labels, or fall out of alignment. This makes the consumer shell out MORE MONEY for higher quality "digital printers" and accessories to a possible "sibling company", making even more money for Dymo Corp. and their subsidieries. DON'T FALL FOR IT! keep taking the unit back until you get one that works!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not work with USB I purchased this scale to save some time shipping orders. The scale is no longer supported by "Endica" the mfg recommended mailing vendor for the scale. Total waste of money why have a USB scale if the USB functionality is no longer supported?
