This printer has the most unque features I've ever used in past 20 years. The only thing I'd change is the auto set to black instead of color. works like a charm easy install cartriges and easy to pack up & return.

Ridiculously Expensive
I should have checked the price of the toner before I bought my laser jet printer. It cost about $500 to replace the required 4 toner cartridges. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone.

Bought this twice because 1st was defective. When scanning (which is important reason why I bought this) the PDF size is so large (even if I am only scanning a few pages) and cannot determine how to reduce and instructions are minimal at best and not helpful at all. I normally do not give many negative comments and am an HP fan, but this is pretty frustrating

Bought this printer in January for my home office. Twice I had to purchase ink because of ‘toner replacement’. Cost of each replacement $500. Plus. Despite the change, quality of both print and scan is extremely poor. HP brands no longer mean anything, again!

Cost is high
I purchased the home office printer as I was told it was a great printer for home office. I print a lot of documents per month (about 4,000+ pages) and I'm finding with how expensive the toner is, I'm extremely disappointed in the cost of these toners.

I have been using these in my MFP479FDW. THEY ARE VERY GOOD .They are pricy. I am hoping in the future that can be adjusted. I do allot of printing about 8 to 10,000 copies a month. I have had only one cartage that I returned. There return policy was good and they replaced it.

Great printer, ridiculously expensive toner
The printer works beautifully. I’ve never had one nicer. No need to go to the office to print, the office is at home. However, it costs $1,000 to replace high volume cartridges, and they do not last very long. I can’t afford that. It’s literally price gouging. There is no reason for toner to cost that much.

It's toner...and cost what the printer did new.
I had to replace the toner cartridges in my printer and just spent about $600! Ridiculous but to use the printer I had to buy them. HP should be ashamed of themselves. This is really ridiculous. Upon writing this I realize just how ridiculous it is. The printer will be replaced as soon as these toners are gone.

I bought this a week ago. It is the best you can get, but is very very expensive. You can buy toners without the chips for a fraction of the price. You just have to move the chip from the old one to the new. The downside is possible lower quality and the chip makes the printer thinks you are always out of ink.

The ink is fine; however, the HP Color LaserJet Pro Multifunction M479fdw the ink cartridge is for is a completely disappointing printer. It frequently goes offline and is difficult to set up and keep working over our network. Since it is so unreliable, we have moved it to backup printer status.

Was a happy customer, now not so much.
Product is questionable. Web site and follow up not so good. I ordered this cartridge online from the HP web site, as I have done a couple times before. It was easy to order, came quickly. Previous cartridges have worked fine. This one seems to be leaving streaks and spots. But. I thought that might be a one off problem and I needed other colors, so I went online to order them. Web site was not letting me put items in the cart. I provided feedback. Tried again a few days later, Web site would only let me put one item in the cart. If I added another, the first one disappeared. Guess I will try to find a retail store and hope the cartridges are better than this one.

You should make this change.
This machine can detect when a page is in the ADF or on the glass when copying but will not do the same when scanning. Seems like a simple fix for you to do. It's a pain to have to select "glass" each time you are scanning a single page.

I like using the 414X toner cartridge because I get more value for my money. I do an exceptional amount of printing and rather than purchasing one toner that will only print 2200 pages, I purchase the X that 1) costs less than three individual cartridges combined and 2), I get more pages printed. This is the best deal because it saves dollars, and it makes sense.

I want to replace my black toner. My model is Laser Pro M478F-9F, I don't know if M479F can be used or not. This kind of thing is always puzzled me. Terrible! The specification should give the clear list the toner can be used in which model.

It is impossible to even figure out how to install the ink unit for my printer. I regret the day I bought the printer. It cost me over $1,000.00. I takes much to long to print a page and know that the ink ran out, I cannot even install the replacement as the instructions are useless. I have used HP printers for years and years and the one I have now is huge and it is terrible. The only reason I bought it was that I wanted a plug in printer and it was the only HP plug in printer available.

Always use hp cartridges
always use hp cartridges for my printers and have never had any issues with the cartridges or the printer.
I have owned hp products since 1973 when I purchased a hp35 calculator, that I still use today
