Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP thrives on planned obsolescence and garbage creation After 3 years I am told I need to get a new printer because HP does not allow the means to clear a false paper jam error. They don't tell you you need to turn the printer off to clear a paper jam, and then you can't clear the error after that. No reset button, no press and hold trick... Planned obsolescence at it's finest. No care for the consumer. No intention of being environmentally friendly at the slightest.

I can honestly say that that is true because I turned down an attractive writing gig wherein they wanted me to "highlight only the good points of the product" (my words, not there`s). I value my reputation as a writer too much to resort to that. Bringing baby home from the box:It arrived upside-down based on the outside lettering, even so, I was able to ease it out of its box, position it like the one-page illustration. Despite this shipping drawback it was in excellent condition, as you will soon seeSetting it up/initializing it:Despite the drawback of having disparate equipment on my part (I have an early 2008 iMac desktop that has an outdated operating system (OS 10.11.6 El Capitan) that I am unable to update on one hand, and an Apple 10XS Max mobile on the othernevertheless, it was EZ to set up.The only problem I encountered:At first I had difficulty behind two-sided printing`; in reality, the mistake was mine, LOL! I forgot to highlight the printer I am reviewing herein instead of the default (old) one in the menu on my outdated desktop. I may pride myself on being a fairly astute geek, but I have to eat it on this one, heh-heh.Overall:Since then, I`ve printed copies of several of my stories that I submitted to publishers along with the cover letters. Two-sided, BTW, without a hitch. In addition, it`s quick and the colors are brilliant, too, because there`s an online Facebook group I am a member of that requires a photo with story submissions; therefore, I tried out that feature as well.So far, I see no reason not to recommend this product.

Bought an extra cartridge, so I would be good to go for a while. The printer did not print black at all. I tested with the new cartridge, upgraded firmware, printed from Windows and Mac, ran the cleaning program... then called support. They deemed it faulty, so I sent it back. Circled the missing black rectangle amd text in the attached photo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP asks me for a review daily, it's fantastic! I bought this two weeks ago. I've used it twice. Setup was easy. I have no idea what my real thoughts on it are. My only complaints are that it doesn't wake on LAN and I have not found a setting to support that, and documents scanned with my HP Scanner take 10 seconds per page to print for no apparent reason. Oh, and the repeated emails asking me for reveals.

It would be beneficial if this type of printer could weigh a little lighter. Also during the initial configuration I has chose that a business would manage the device as a test...i tried to change this option but could not find. Even tried restoring the defaults but that did not work.

The printer comes with great touchscreen control panel that makes setup and troubleshooting easy. After the setup, I printed a test page and was very impressed with high quality crisp colors, and the fast printing speed. The print quality was also very impressive.My favorite features of the printer was the touchscreen control panel, the color printing, and the ability to print on the front and back of the page.Compared to other printers that I have used the M255ddw, the print quality is excellent.Overall, I was really impressed with the printer as a whole. Well designed and a great fit for my home office.

The setup was quick and easy with dual band I selected wireless of course. The HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw meets the industry standard when it comes to printing. The one thing HP could do better is increase the cycle time per print. Overall, the HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw fulfils daily printing tasks. ??

Rated 5 out of 5 by from definetly not a 2025! I bought this to replace an HP laser jet 2025. The quality (drwa is flimsy etc) is not the same! Well, ok it was conseideraby cheaper and I can live with that and be happy because it does a very nice job printing! HOWEVER! On a print job (the First one by the way) it produced less than 250 copies and the message came up the black toner is low! Ive ordered another one of larger capacity but it looks like this printer will be terribly expensive to operate and require changing toner in the middle of every 500-600 page job! I hope i'm wrong!

Super minor issue -- I can hear coil whining when the printer is in stand-by mode with screen off, though, I'm quite sensitive to that.

While using for creating a presentation, was fast and the colors were extremely vivid and looked extremely professional. It processes the print jobs very quickly and appears to be a very solid, all-around small business printer. It is very easy to use and set up with very intuitive screen menus. The touch screen display is easy to input as well. I`m very impressed with the performance and features of this printer, HP hit it out of the park on this model.

I made some posters and they look fantastic and vivid. Laser printers are the way to go. The images look as if they were done in a print shop, but, then again, it`s called a Laser Jet "Pro" and it is nothing short of very professional! Thank you HP for continuing to make outstanding printers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Problematic I was never able to get this printer to work. When I originally set it up it printed a test sheet that really looked great. The colors were well defined and it printed very fast. I was able to set it up on my wifi and print from my iPhone. It never worked again after the first day. I even tried to set it up on my other computer but nothing happened. I kept getting error messages. When I tried yo diagnose and fix the problem, I kept receiving a message that it could not be diagnosed or fixed. The printer would even shut off on its` own. I`ve tried to reach the printer support link for HP but the link continues to display an error message for the webpage. The HP virtual assistant is absolutely no help because it does not offer a choice that has to do with my issue. This has been my worse HP setup ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Printing is not coming well. after 7 days after 7 days of use the printer is not printing well. I have a strawight line on all the documents I print. I tried multiple times the cleaning tool and nothign changes. I email HP and nothing. I talked in the virtual chat and was never connected with an agent (after waiting for 4 hours). I want to have someone to come to my house and take a look at my printer if that`s not possible I will return the printer and never buy an hp product again.

The HP representative I spoke to was very helpful and supportive. I got my replacement printer in a couple of days delivered to my house.

Wireless printing, color, duplex, and barely larger than a comparable b&w unit. Until I have to buy expensive toner cartridges, nothing not to like for a SOHO color laser printer.

My computer recognized it and I was printing in minutes. I've had a similar HP product in the past at work, and it served me well. I purchased this one for home use.

What is the stupid slot in the front even for? It prints... but I could have paid 1/6th as much and gotten an all in one that prints just as well... what a rip off

I called support and they tried to replace it with a refurbished model because they said my printer was a previously registered model (so possibly a refurb). Actual chat log below Support:  It will be HP checked and tested refurbished printer. Me:  why? I ordered a new printer. Recieved a broken one. You are replacing it with a refurb. just send me a new printer Support:  As I can check your printer's warranty starts from 08/04/2020. HP replace it with a new printer with in 30 days but after 30 days the replacement printer is refurbished one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy setup, great quality, one hiccup and question Ordered direct from HP and received it less than a week later. Setup was painless after setting up WiFi and then using the HP app. Setting up printing from tablets and phones was easy, and AirPrint works great! Quick printing with no warmup, too. I'll never get another inkjet printer. One caveat: I was setting up the printer to share with my Google Drive, but at the end decided to cancel (privacy concerns), but I could not back out of the menu on the printer. A power cycle was necessary. There's also nothing in writing about replacing toner cartridges and how that process works. I guess I'll find out later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from not great The colours don't line up too well. The colour on the first page that is printed always comes out poorly (on a brand new machine). For example, any solid black area looks blotchy. Unless you always do many copies and want to throw out the first page each time, this is not as good as the other reviews lead me to believe. The printer is pretty fast, and the duplex printing is nice, but if every time I want to print a single colour page it doesn't come out, that will be a big waste. Printing a second page also doesn't come out if it is not immediately after the first.. so if you forget, you need to print 2 copies in a row for the second one to come out ok.. that could be a waste of 2 or 3 pages just to get one. I also read reports that HP limits the number of prints for each cartridge rather than the amount of toner left. If that is true, I will be an angry customer.

The print quality is great! I love the connectivity! Being able to print straight from an iPhone is a game changer! Very happy with the initial impressions!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid performer for the first month Needed to replace another laser printer because: buying the replacement toner unit was going to be 90% the cost of the printer lol. This one popped up on Wirecutter as a unit to try---and so far, so good. Solid print performance, no jams (fingers crossed), pretty good print speed. Compatible (if apparently missing some of the fancy features granted to Windows users) with Mac/Apple devices running Catalina 10.15.16 and able to print from iPhones and iPads.

It is advertised as a Air Printer but after hours on the phone with HP tech support and our internet provider the final conclusion FROM HP was to try to return the printer or wait for a firmware update. ?!?! Why would they make an air printer that is not compatible with many home WiFi networks. It makes no sense. Hopefully they will fix this defect quickly. In the meantime my kids can’t print out any of their schoolwork.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Printer Printer was amazingly easy to set up... just take it out of the box and plug it in (no shipping spacers, tapes, etc.) Had to install the driver for Ubuntu Linux, but once that was done the printer worked like a champ and produced very nice color prints. I am happy with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plug in a USB cable so it works after 8 years of flawless HP 401 printing, I wanted color in a Laser jet. When plugged in with a USB cable, it works great, color is very good. Trying to get the speed or response on my network is very frustrating. There is no clear directions for setting it up, there are a couple HP apps that you can't tell whether that will help or not. Ignore all that and use the USB cable to hook it up and it works. Wireless is an excercise in making yourself crazy.

I am not a high-volume user, (semi-retired lawyer), but this printer serves me very well and, so far at least, is utterly reliable, especially for the low price charged.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer once problems were resolved This laserjet feels solid and prints like a champ. I'm pleasantly surprised by its speed, especially when duplexing. The color quality is excellent for this class machine as well. It is equipped with a myriad of networking options, and the embedded web server is a very sophisticated management tool. Very happy with the unit. But . . . Setting up the unit with ethernet (same would have happened with wireless), I discovered that when the unit went to sleep so did the network link and it didn't wake up when a print job was sent to it. On this printer, there is no switch to fully disable sleep. I was informed by an Agent on the Forum that this was intentional for compliance with govt energy regulations. However, I was able to manually configure the printer with a static IP address and disabling DHCP, this solved the network drop issue. Once set up I encountered a print quality issue. My troubleshooting of the unit indicated that the yellow cartridge might be faulty. I used the Support chat this time, which went very well. The Agent instructed me to remove and reinstall the cartridges, which engaged the yellow cartridge and easily resolved the issue. So . . . the printer itself is for sure 5-stars. I generously subtracted only 1 star for all the time and effort required to resolve what were two unnecessary issues with relatively simple solutions.

This prints great. but I thought with scanner app it could scan but Prince says no. I asked what do people do when they want to scan or copy a document. No answer...none. No help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unable to shut front door always error I bought this printer about a month ago and I loved how it printed so quickly and the quality is good too. However, I am constantly getting an error message and now this morning it said there was a paper jam. I opened the front door to see where the paper jam was and the cartridge is stuck halfway out and I am unable to close the front door. There are zero troubleshooting methods and if I force it, it will break. This is very frustrating to someone who works from home and NEEDS this printer to be fully operational in order to run m ugh business. I paid higher for this printer and I expected better quality and service from it. I purchased an HP latop at the same time as the printer and I am underwhelmed with its capabilities as well.

I have been looking for a printer for my office at home and I was not sure exactly what brand or quality of a printer I was really looking for and I was able to obtain this printer and I am absolutely overjoyed.I bought some regular printer paper at a local Walgreen`s and the copies were excellent print quality, no ink smudges, and no paper jams. I am also super impressed with the printer speed and I love the fact I can print from any device, my phone, office computer, all with great accuracy and detail. It was a very easy installation set-up, the-step-by-step process was not complicated at all. It is very fast, efficient, and easy to connect to your Wi-Fi.The most amazing thing I liked was the content of the pictures I printed and how they looked. I am an amateur at a lot of the computer stuff, but I must say, overall things could not have been any smoother. I would definitely recommend this product to my friends, family and co-workers

Just took it out of the box and plugged it in.Size: It was bigger than I expected and very heavy. It is very deep so sticks off my shelf a bit. You need a deep sturdy surface to support this printer. The color and look of it are really nice. Setup: Setup was fairly easy to figure out but I really wish it came with more detailed instructions. I was basically just figuring out on my own the different options on the touch screen but I am pretty tech savvy. For someone not so, I think this would be difficultUse: I was able to connect this printer to my phone and computer but it took some troubleshooting to get it to print, not easy without instructions. I could print right from my phone which was so convenient. I don`t like that there`s no scanner function, seems you can only print and that`s it. Again, maybe it does more, but without a manual I have no idea the functions it has. It prints beautifully and is very fast and much quieter than your average home printer. It has separate color ink cartridges for each color and each one is quite expensive so watch out there. I`m hoping they last quite awhile due to the size. The print quality is quite nice on this one compared to other printers I`ve had.Overall I think this is a great printer if you are just looking to print and nothing else

Ther is a an issue with this one which I hope is minor- there's no red in the print outs. Hoping it might be a bad red cartridge that with the unit. I'm waiting to switch it out with a new one; if that's the only problem is is a an added expense. It that's not the problem, I'll be very disappointed.

My printing needs had changed drastically in the last few months and I regret waiting to buy a laser. Should have done it from day 1. Much less cranky person while printing now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well when it works. Prints beautifully and quietly IF you can get it to print. My little HP printer likes to nap offline. He is very difficult to convince to actually do the work. Have yet to get him to scan a document. If I don't try that new-fangled concept of WIRELESS, he works. He's not fond of the wi-fi idea. Did live chat and HELP menus and have decided to just order another wired connection so he will print from my Surface regularly (did so at first....not now).

I have waisted multiple sheets of some quite expensive printing paper because it jams every other print. If that wasn't bad enough the black toner is chipping/rubbing off of my prints. Defenitely not worth the $400+ spent on it.

It has had a few connectivity issues that are annoying, and it occasionally runs some sort of quick clean or check-in cycle and makes a noise in the middle of the night, which is not ideal for its placement in our residence. But all in all it is a solid printer.

The print quality is great. It is not as quiet when it commences printing as I had expected. But, other than that it works great so far. This printer is being used with a lap top and PC and works great with both. I would recommend this printer.

However, I give this 4 stars for deceptive description that says it can color print on 4x6 but neglects to say there is no paper made for 4x6 color laser printers, only 8x10 and 11x17. Bought this, in part to print photos of grandchildren. 8x10 photos on this gramma's refrigerator was not what I had in mind. So bummed. Please consider making 4x6 photo paper for this paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice printer, but it has Wireless TCP/IP issues. The printer seems to work fine, like any other Laser printer, but the printer loses it's Wi-Fi connectivity constantly. If you disable the Wi-Fi and re-enable it works, or disable at the Access Point, and re-enable, it works. After some time, it goes back offline. I have contacted HP, and they are not acknowledging the issue thus far, though it's mentioned on forums as an issue by others also.

Tried to contact HP support but when clicked on support link got a message that the link was not operational. It does print very fast and is quiet. Works fine as a black and white printer, but not worth buying a color printer for this quality of color.

It can even print on thicker cardstock. 4 stars because I can not change the quality of the print. It only allows for one setting. The setting is clean, but I was hoping to make it extra crisp. Colors are a bit off compared to my designs on the computer, but not too crazy. I also found that when printing from design programs it boxes colors weird. Please rasterize a copy before printing to keep that away!

And the actual sound it makes comes in at a really annoying frequency to me. But, that only happens when it is printing, first turned on, etc. The colors are sharp and very well done. Overall, I would recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Printer great; documentation horrible I am actually very happy with the printer; it is the documentation that has dropped the rating. I read the documentation that came with the printer along with all the on-line documentation. I then watched the videos which were for Windows 7. Really?? I am a former IT professional, and I can guarantee that most people would be lost trying to set this printer up. My installation was simple; a USB connection to one printer and then wireless connections to a couple more. I tried to follow the directions which didn't really address a USB connection and kept pushing you towards an HP app that didn't help. I then just went old school and allowed the computer to discover the printer, ignoring all the HP documentation, and the installation went fine. The HP documentation on a wireless connection were horrible and simply didn't work. So I ignored them and just allowed the other computers to discover the printer on the wireless network. That worked fine. Bottom line was that if all I knew was to follow the documentation provided, I never would have gotten the printer working on any of the computers. In reality, the installation was verry simple, but the instructions were horrible and seemed more concerned about getting the user to sign up for automatic toner replacement. As for the printer, I have been very happy with it. It is quiet and the print quality is fine for what I need. In summary, I would give the printer a 5-star rating but the documentation zero stars.

I had a really old one that was doing the job for the handful of prints I needed per year. I decided it was time to get a new one because I got tired of dealing with issues with the old one. I was not prepared for the quality of the prints at a lower price. I know a decade is a lifetime in the tech industry, but this excellent printer got me by surprise. Very happy I bought it. I hope it lasts many years without giving me problems.

The first printer I got was defective, but it was replaced right away, so it was more inconvenient than anything. The printer *usually* works pretty well when printing from my laptop, but printing from my iPad is inconsistent. I try to print the exact same thing the exact same way multiple times, and it will work once but then the other time the printer just loads forever and never prints. The print quality is okay, sometimes the toner flecks off the paper. I bought this printer because it had good reviews and I didn't want to deal with ink always drying up, but I'm not really happy with the overall quality or reliability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP I've had an HP printer for quite some time that was satisfactory, until recently when HP changed their policy to force the owner of the printer to use only HP printer ink. Without any notice whatsoever or permission from me, my checking account started regularly getting billed for orders of HP printer ink which I did not request. I have a very low utilization of the printer and getting billed for HP printer ink cartridge after cartridge that the customer has not ordered is just not right. These charges started appearing on my credit card on a regular basis as if I had asked for these changes myself which I did not. My bank is currently looking into these unauthorized charges. Given that even though I do not have a high utilization of my printer, I have wound up with unauthorized charge after charge for HP printer ink without my permission. Sadly, I am in the process of finding another printer. Zach

HP keeps sending me ads to encourage further purchases. I have tried several times to purchase a black toner cartridge so I won't run out. The order process is multi page and always ends up with out of stock. Please stop annoying me with ads you can't fulfill. The printer does a good job but it is very noisy. I hope that doesn't portend a short life. My biggest problem is getting it integrated into my Linux Samba server to acomodate several Windows 10 desktops and and an occasional Linux laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful looking, good quality, super easy setup The process of unpacking, plugging in, calibrating, testing, logging on wifi, connecting and printing from phone and connecting and printing from pc was about 11 minutes - it is the most seamless setup of a printer I have ever come across in the past 25 years of flapsing around with computers and printers. Quality is great for the price range and it prints very quickly. It's only a couple of seconds slower per 10 pages compared with a b/w laser printer that I have (Canon). If one were to find something to nitpick about this product, it is the fact that it is quite loud when printing - but no laser printer of this size can be classified as quiet when printing (other than maybe pagewide, I haven't had the pleasure of testing one of those yet) - so it is just a fantastic product!

That printer didn't get much use but hadn't been functioning well as it aged, even with brand new ink cartridges. Thats one reason I went with the color laser, its probably overkill for what we use it for but so far it seems very reliable. Fast printing, though we mostly print small jobs of 10 pages or less its always done when we get to the printer (the printer is in a bedroom and everyone prints with AirPrint). The color quality is excellent and seems fine even with photos. Though for a high quality picture that will be displayed we typically get them printed online or at the local pharmacy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ok for generic printing but not worth the price Bought this printer to use for our 501(c)3 origination. Having 25+ years of good experience with HP products, even being a certified tech back in the day, I ran 150 duplex pages and started cutting them only to realize the images are skewed. Thinking this was some sort of image/page issue I ran internal test pages to the printer including alignment only to find they were skewed as well. HP Support has since sent me 2 printers (one I paid to expedite) and both have skewing issues more pronounced than the others. The first RMAed unit wasn't even consistent in it's skew from image to image or page to page. As can be seen from the images, it's not a left/right top/bottom shifting issue, the image is tilted/skewed and isn't isolated to duplex. In simplex mode, it's not a noticeable, but there is on one of the RMA units a 1.25mm skew from top to bottom. With 2 RMA units failing in the same fashion, I suspect an intrinsic design defect that may be correctable with a firmware update to allow for skew/rotation adjustment of the prints. This might be an OK printer if you are just doing generic for sale signs or text documents and aren't doing trifolds, multi-print (more than one to a page especially duplex), etc but it is not acceptable quality for most anything else. This is hands down the single worst printing product I have seen HP put out. I'm sure they'll blame COVID or something but at least they are going to return my money for the printer and hopefully for the supplies I've purchased for it.

I found that HP did a reasonably good job wit their instructions but it still took a long time to connect the printer and it only works well and consistently in a wireless fashion while hard wire connected to the main PC on my home network — with wireless printing only working via the HP app - which I understand is bypassing my home network and using the internet as well. Print quality wise it’s very good so far and fast. I bought this and a Brother portable scanner to replace a Brother 3 in 1 and I’m happy with the change so far. The Brother scanner was much more difficult to set up. It does not connect at all unless via hardwire.

I didn't even install the drivers or hp smart utility and we've been able to use it just fine. Print quality is good enough for our purposes (family usage, we don't need super high quality photo prints).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multiple Problems that Keep Reoccuring I had my printer for about 1.5 years and in that time I've had several different issues with it. I've worked with the HP technical department on a couple of occasions to try to fix the problems (e.g. loss of wifi connection, white spots printing on the pages, colour fading from the left to right side of the page, or splotchy colour). We work through the problems but within a month or two the problems come back or I lose connectivity again. I only use HP ink, and I'm getting a little tired of having to replace cartridge that are still half full to try to eliminate what the problems might be. I've still got my old HP LaserJet P1005 and it works great. I wish this printer had a little more longevity to it.

The specs claim it can handle envelopes, but it’s hard to believe anyone in quality assurance actually tried to print envelopes. Repeated jamming, slow, cumbersome initialization process every time you load more envelopes or clear a nonexistent jam. Poor design, poorly executed.

It printed on various papers, vellum, transparency sheets and even tracing paper taped to copy paper. The color was impeccable. My new Mdw laser is good but I am experiencing some problems after only a gew weeks. I have had several issues. My transparencies got jamed in the printer. I have learned that I can only register 1 printer in the ink savings program. I had a problem with the edge of some of my documents, about 3 to 4 inches from the edge were severely faded into no color. When I got a transparency to print it was very messy. I am currently disappointed.

The wireless connection to my IMac was easy to set up and I'm happy with the color and saturation of the images. A million times better than the last color laser printer (by another manufacturer) that I owned (although it was a lot cheaper, it was basically a complete waste of money.) Very pleased with this purchase.

Yes, the quality of the lower-price toners caused my print-outs to look... less than beautiful. And I ran that printer for 7 years without a hitch beyond that quality issue. I'm retired now, and I considered tearing this old printer down, cleaning it thoroughly, buying my $400+ set of legitimate toners, and resuming with a clear conscience. Then my daughter was interested in the old thing, and not picky about quality, so I gave it to her, and ordered the M255. Win - win! I like the M255, and I have REAL toner in it, and will bite the bullet and continue using same. My observations: 1. The printer is noisier than the old one 2. The time-to-start is considerably faster 3. The unit is almost exactly the same sive as the old one 4. The unit is heavier than the old one, but I don't have to carry it anywhere! 5. The manual did not take my hand and talk me thru the process of sharing the printer. The first time, I made it a wireless device on my computer, but other computers in the house did not see it. I got a techy friend to help, and he talked me thru configuring on the printer itself to make it sharable on my wireless. I am very pleased with it now, and if a guest needs to print from their phone, Kindle, laptop, whatever, They can get to it if I offer the password. It's a real kick, not now tech, but I like it. So, I should not need another, as long as I buy those high-priced toners from Father HP. Maybe they have a discount program if I PROMISE to NEVER use a third-party toner EVER!?!?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice for the Price So far so good! The only thing that I can't quite understand, is the Print Options are different depending on what program you are in. Specifically a check-box for either choosing or not choosing duplex printing. When in MS Word, that option is not available and automatically prints duplex, so need to print 1 page at a time. How can I toggle on/off???

I had the pleasure of purchasing it directly from HP and was impressed with the speed of their shipping. The printer arrived in perfect condition and has been working flawlessly since. In the past, I have had some negative experiences ordering HP printers through Amazon, so I would highly recommend purchasing directly from HP to ensure a smooth and satisfactory experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wont print color after 2500 prints This printer is rated to have a 140,000 page duty cycle per month. Over the past 2 years mine printed about 2500 prints. Then it stopped printing color effectively. Even with brand new genuine HP toner, it still wont print color. Disgusted. HP inkjets dry up. HP Laserjets break down. Explain to me please how this is not a scam?

Printer supports Apple print so I can print documents straight from my phone. It’s also very quiet compared to my last laser jet that I’ve used for 15 years. Love the fact everything works as it should.

A laser-jet would not do, and was not high quality. This prints great, and quick, and you can print from phone too. The set up was unbelievable. Literally one step, go to the website, and it found all the mac, wifi, computer, router addresses, downloaded and installed the software, (no guessing), and linked it all up, ready to print. No "add printer", no downloading software, no running install and hope if finds your printer. Excellent choice. Also, printer is NOT loud like other comments say.

Although at initially, I was not so sure since the front paper tray seemed a bit flimsy ... until it was full of paper, and then it slid back in like it was on ball bearings! The set-up was effortless, once i saw where to do it online ... it happened without a hitch ... EASY! As far as the color printing is concerned there was no set-up here, like I had to do with my earlier 12-year-old HP color laser printer ... this one was set up right from the start! And it already comes with ALL of the ink cartridges already inside the printer. Nothing to do but to plug it in, plug in the USB cable (or set up the Wi-Fi), go to HP online to set it up ... and print! EASY!!! And the images are fabulous, including the color photos which I also printed with it! If there is any downside, the ONLY thing that I found was that the whine of the printer, while it is printing, is a bit loud, but nothing to complain about from my perspective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NEVER AGAIN! HORRIBLE PRINTER Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you consider HP products! I've had NOTHING PUT PROBLEMS with this printer for the entire time I've owned it. It suddenly loses connections to the network and yet ALL of my other devices have NO PROBLEMS and it is IMPOSSIBLE to get the printer to work - even that my NEW HP computer recognizes it on the network AN the printer claims that it's connected too. Absolute GARBAGE! I've already called HP on at least FIVE different occasions. The printer works for a while and then stops.
