HP E27d G4 Advanced Docking Monitor - LED monitor - 27" is rated 4.34 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor This is a super nice monitor and the thunderbolt connector works well to provide the laptop with power and USB hub features on the monitor- all with one USB-C connection. A word of warning for Apple users: the webcam will not work with our MacBook Pro. We had to buy a separate webcam (which we could just plug into a USB port in the back of the display) but I don't think this is necessarily an issue for HP. However, we also have an HP Envy 17" laptop and everything works seamlessly with that machine. I also really like the design and craftsmanship.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crisp, bright and really well-made. Easily the best monitor I've ever owned. The large display is so crisp and easy on my eyes, perfect for a long day of working. The screen moves up and down so smoothly and tilts in each direction. The monitor base is heavy and incredibly stable, so well-made and built to last. The built-in camera is perfect, especially with all of the video conference calls I'm having to do lately. Having all of the different ports is a huge benefit. I'm able to use the USB-C for my laptop and the DisplayPort for my computer and can quickly switch the input from the display itself. The best feature is easily the quality of the screen. I'm really impressed with this monitor and can tell it will last for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Monitor with Interesting Features Overall, a nice montor. The screen resolution is great, no dead pixels at all. The "hub" aspect of the monitor is pretty cool. I currently power my laptop and my external through this monitor. It was great to get rid of some of the clutter on my desk. The 4 USB A ports are great so I can hide my mouse/keyboard/headset dongles. The one downside to this monitor is the webcam. This day in age, a 1080p webcam is $30-$40, so I figured the webcam on the monitor would be comparable, given I couldn't find any info on it. Lo and behold, it's definitely not 1080p. While it's not terrible, not sure it adds a ton of value from a business perspective. Just my opinion. Overall, a cool monitor that addresses some of the rantings and ravings of someone who dislikes clutter. Cool to see a monitor that adds in some quality-of-life improvements when it comes to cord/desk management.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute workhorse of a monitor! I love this amazing 27inch QHD IPS monitor with built-in webcam and microphone! I am a lawyer, and therefore, a lot of my work involves reading complex documents and writing equally complex ones. This monitor is great for my work purposes. The QHD display with 27inch screen space means that I have a lot of screen real estate to work with. I also take a lot of work-related zoom calls, so the webcam and built-in microphone that just pop up from the top are absolutely crucial to my use as well. The monitor was a breeze to set up with my USB-C connection. I have a windows laptop and didn't face any problems at all with either connecting the monitor or setting up the webcam. The viewing angles, brightness, colors and contrast on this monitor are also top-notch. Overall, this is the perfect work monitor and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I wanted! Like most people now I am working from home I purchased an HP Spectre laptop last month, and wanted a larger viewing area. This monitor is great! The display is crisp, and the docking station is ideal for extra ports, and network jack! PXE compatible even. Monitor also has a built in KVM feature, wasn't even aware of that when I purchased it, but discovered it in the manual. Nice bonus. All drivers install easily on Windows 10. They do not have Mac OS drivers, but that is mentioned in the specifications. The 100 Watt power over USB-C is fantastic, as most of the competing products top out at 65 Watts. Added bonus there is no power brick, just a standard computer power cable to plug into the monitor. Very satisfied customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crisp images and great features! This product has such a clear and crisp image quality that I’m super happy with it. It has a really Sturdy base that keeps it from falling over if you happen to bump it. Kind of important for something of this quality to avoid damage. The actual stand itself is sleek but it would be nice to have a place to hide cord from the back, not a huge deal though and barely notice it. Buttons make it ascetically pleasing though. Lots of ports that are easy to use as well. The various ports are also really nice and accessible if you need them. To make things a little easier take a picture of your S/N before you put the back on, it's not super easy to remove and you may need it for HP support in the future. Can also link another monitor for dual screens fairly easy if desired. The angle of the top camera is a great added feature as well. Overall really happy with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game changer This monitor is a game changer. We're obviously all work from home and I brought mine home from my office and it went out so I ordered a new one. This screen is 10x better than my last. The resolution is phenomenal and aesthetically it's beautiful. I love the angel of the camera too. I do a ton of video conferences and the angle of this camera on top of the monitor is very flattering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life changing! I am a graphic artist by trade and always looking for new exceptional products to enhance my work space. With the current world events upgrading my home office became a paramount need. This monitor is amazing on so many levels. Not only is the display a very large 27" the pixel quality is stellar! The screen bezel is small and unobtrusive. The docking features are truly fantastic.... One of those didn't know how desperately it was needed to I had it type things. I can change items connected to my PC much more quickly and easily. AND I don't have to crawl under my desk anymore to do it. This has upgraded my home work space tremendously!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NO Signal from computer, shut off and then restart This was such an advanced monitor for its time, the Engineering operating system failed on Arrival. The signal was lost every 5-30 minutes when it shut down completely with a black screen. I spent over a week in trying to resolve this problem with an authorized service center making 4 trips of over 100 miles to resolve the problem. After a week of 10 hours, trying new drivers, connection cables, HP finally agreed to replace the back ordered monitor shipping 14 days later when back in stock. The HP Elite desk tried to help, but did not have enough knowledge to repair the monitor over the phone. I bought two monitors of the same type Elite 27D a 27 inch monitor. The one worked great! the other one did not work on arrival. this had from C usb output from laptop, to C USB for video connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Upgrade While Working from Home The HP E27d G4 QHD Advanced Docking Monitor has been an excellent addition to my office during the work-from-home period. Previously, I had been using a 22" monitor that was nearly a decade old. The scope of use I have for this monitor is largely for business (Symptoms Administrator) and light entertainment/gaming use as well as photo editing. It only took a few minutes to have the monitor set up and ready to use. One minor thing I appreciated was that all necessary cables were included with the monitor so I did not have to scrounge or order separately. As far as performance goes the panel is very thin, bright, and crisp. I do not have professional tools to measure brightness and color replication, but I can say that it is a noticeable improvement and leaves me with fewer headaches at the end of the day. The monitor is able to automatically switch between input sources, which is handy due to having multiple systems connected to it. My one recommendation would be to measure your workspace and ensure that it will fit, as I had to rearrange my desk to make it work and comfortable. It was a minor inconvenience but just be aware beforehand. The base of the monitor allows for easy adjustment of the viewing angle, the height of the panel and you can even rotate it 90 degrees. The monitor itself has a clever method of hiding the integrated camera when it is not wanted through a pop-up panel on top of it. This is handy when you need it and privacy affirming when you don't need it. Looking forward to many days from working from home with this simple and sleek business class monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic monitor! I work from home and am on my computer many hours 7 days per week. This monitor was easy to assemble and made for a quick set up. The screen is low glare and the screen resolution is great. The display is clear which is great for reviewing images online. My favorite feature is that it really is plug and play, so I could get right to work. It’s the perfect addition to my home office setup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I’m in love I absolutely love this monitor I work from home and have to look at a screen 8+ hours a day and having a smaller monitor was a big strain on my eyes. But this screen helps me so much because it’s big and I can see so much better I love that I can rotate the screen to seen all of the information on the screen. I also love that it has a pop up webcam which comes in handy for my zoom and adobe connect meetings!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor! I'll just start by saying if you're a Mac user, I'd be weary. I saw this in the comments before hand and I had a bit of trouble with it myself. The user manual isn't very helpful when it comes to troubleshooting either, you'll have to call HP for that. Luckily I have both a Mac and Dell at home, and it works great with my Dell. The monitor is also very adjustable, twisting side to side, sliding up and down, can be landscape or portrait, and even turns 90 degrees. I also enjoy the multiple plugins along the bottom of the monitors that allow to easily charge other devices. The screen is also very crisp and bright, it's low glare, and the resolution is amazing. Setup was also a breeze. Overall, great monitor with great features!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good display - No doc how to connect webcam This appears to be a good monitor display and has numerous connections built into the bottom/back of the monitor. However, we bought it for the integrated (pop up) web cam but there is absolutely no documentation on how to connect it to a PC or make it work -- no doc included, no doc in the users manual, no doc on the web. And many others have said the same thing on the web. Hoping that I can somehow contact a human in HP and they can explain it. I might recommend it if they included how to connect and operate the webcam.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor I highly recommend this docking station. I work from home and loved the ease of setting it up and getting it all connected. The package when received was well secured. Screen resolution has been above par for me. I have had a great experience when using zoom amd I do virtual tours for clients and they have not seen any delay. I highly recommend you get this docking station as I think it is well above others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Screen, Modern look Just got the HP Advanced Docking Monitor set up to use w/ my MacBook Air. What a difference this big screen makes. I do a lot of photoshop work and having this much screen real estate is a game changer. It was relatively easy to set up. First you have to "assemble" the monitor, the screen, stand and base are easy to put together by just snapping the pieces together. The screen rotates on it's base, the height is adjustable AND the entire screen will rotate 90° to a full portrait orientation. Still need to figure out how to make the image rotate as well, but that is user error, not the monitor fault. The camera pops up out of the frame, so when not in use it can be put away and not worry that the camera might be accidentally left on, you know, privacy. Very happy with the HP Docking Monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A new level of docking station The flexibility of this monitor is incredible, allowing the user to lift and tilt the screen at positions for both sitting and standing. Being able to rotate the screen into portrait mode is a really cool feature too, although I have no need for it personally. With a built-in webcam, ethernet port, four USB ports, and USB-C Charging Port for your phone, this docking station has everything I need for converting my laptop to a full desktop experience. The screen is not 4K, but at 2560 x 1440 resolution, it provides a stunning display. Works very well for producing my videos. The headphone port allows me to have a devoted pair of earbuds for times when my wireless ones need recharging. I only have one issue and that is with the webcam because it doesn't tilt. When I do video conferencing, I have to angle the monitor down slightly in order to have my face in the frame. Overall, this is an excellent docking solution and an essential part of my home office.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor for WFH This guy is sturdy. I love how heavy the base is. I have another 27" monitor that's lighter but I prefer this one just in case it gets bumped. Only knock would have been to maybe have the vertical parts of the stand covered in the middle sothat I could hide my wire(s) from the back to the bottom. Not a big deal. It has a nice, small bevel. Buttons are concealed to only access what you need. I was looking for an integrated webcam b/c I use a built in camera on my mac even though I used my monitor so the angle of my camera was always from the bottom up -- not my best angle! The various ports are also really nice and accessible if you need them. One thing I'd recommend is to snag a picture of your S/N before you put the back cover on, it's not the easiest to remove and you may need it to access HP support. I will say that the support to find compatibility aspects to a Mac where not readily available on the HP website which could have made things a bit easier but that's not really related to the monitor and its quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great resolution Screen resolution is excellent. Basically replaced two 22 inch monitors, a docking station and laptop power supply by utilizing the lightning cable port. Would have been 5 stars but the video camera quality is lower than expected- basically a laptop camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor - took the place of my duel 21's I got this monitor with the idea of replacing my aging 21" screens, as well as consolidating down to one larger monitor that allowed me to plug in all my peripherals. So far, it's working out great. One of the best things is there is nothing flimsy about this monitor. The picture is amazing, and watching HD videos - you actually get HD quality. Huge display difference over my dated LG components. It's also great to have all of the docking features - no need for more clutter when you're able to plug in directly via USB. All in all, I am very pleased as it's helped me save space on my desk, while still giving me the screen size needed to be productive!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOWZA! This monitor is awesome! The display is beautiful and delivers crisp stunning visuals. The difference-maker for me is the advanced docking as a part of the monitor. I just used my USB-C connector and was able to attach everything I needed in one easy place. Super easy, no cords everywhere, no extra dongles, etc. I was also able to use my existing monitor for dual displays by daisy-chaining through the DisplayPort - pretty easy. The built-in camera has worked just fine, and it's a nice little added feature to use facial recognition to log-in. Feel like I am in Mission Impossible. All in All - great monitor, easy setup, great functionality - great for home offices!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Screen! This has been a wonderful addition to my home office, especially now that I am working from home full time now. I require multiple screens to be the most productive in my work. This monitor has many features that are amazing. To begin, it was very easy to install. I use a Mac for work so it did require an extra part to make the connection work. This monitor is highly adjustable. It goes up, down, twists side to side and I can also turn the entire screen 90 degrees and go portrait instead of landscape. That is amazing for viewing PDF documents all day! The screen itself is bright, crisp, and very clear. This monitor also has multiple different plug-ins along the bottom so I can charge my other devices while I work. I would definitely recommend this monitor to anyone looking to increase their viewing space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful picture I'm still learning. I know barely anything about docking stations but I did like the idea of it handling so many different devices easily and all at once while you only have one power cable to plug in. That's my favorite park ..not a bunch of chords to deal with. And its designed so you barely use any desktop space. Cant wait to see what else it can do!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Productivity! I am very impressed with this new addition to my home office. It has a sleek design which combines form and function. The base is sturdy and doesn't take up as much room as I expected. Smooth edges and quality materials make this a aesthetically pleasing to the eye. My only caveat was not having the cord in the back hidden from view, but as I used it more, I understood why it would affect motion. The monitor can be tilted, have the height adjusted, and pivot. There is also the bonus of being able to use it in landscape or portrait view. I found the ability to change views helpful in designing promotional materials. I am rather short in stature, so what may be eye level for most is normally difficult for me to see. Having the ability to customize my experience has made a huge difference. This is truly a monitor for everyone with all the possible adjustments. Using the camera for Zoom was great! I could easily see if mine was on & it allowed me to focus on the discussion. Multiple ports make it possible for me to add my necessary accessories and even plug in my phone. It's definitely an added advantage, as usually it would be out of reach. I feel, over time, I will reconfigure what I want at my fingertips with having a docking station; but, I am already impressed at how much this has enhanced my work day. Great resolution and light-filtering has decreased my eye strain significantly compared to my previous monitor. Overall, I would highly recommend this to family and friends. I think it a great tool to advance my productivity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent picture quality! Very pleased with this monitor, the picture quality is excellent! It is super bright and has every connection port I need. It has a built in webcam that works perfectly, plus it pops up and down for privacy. I have been using the webcam a lot for all my work zoom meetings. The monitor also has a built in docking station that is super convenient. I plug all of my speakers, Ethernet, keyboard, mouse into the monitor. Then all I have to do is plug in one USB type C into my computer and everything works. It even charges my laptop. What more can you ask for in a monitor?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to my home computer! I’m so happy with this product! So easy to install, not to mention how much space it offers. My desk isn’t crowded anymore and it’s easy to work from home now when need be. It’s also great for when my son wants to game. The webcam works great and is something new for us and we love it! I like how it’s also adjustable, so that works perfect for both of us to use it. The base is very sturdy. HP is a great company and this is a wonderful product! Definitely recommend!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP making my life cleaner and beautiful! For me, for my work as a professional photographer, I’ve learned to trust in the color accuracy, sharpness, and durability of HP’s monitors, so when I had the opportunity to get HP’s E27d G4 Advanced Docking monitor, it was an absolute no brainer, and I’m happy to report they’ve succeeded once again. I does everything I need in a modern, slim package. First, and perhaps most frivolous, but this monitor comes packed very securely, and once I’d opened the box, even before I saw the screen, I had no qualms about its safe arrival. HP has done an excellent job insuring that their products arrive in pristine condition. It was super simple to attach the screen to the base, and in under 2 minutes you are ready to roll. Fortunately the base allows the screen to smoothly move and swivel (from horizontal to vertical) which makes adding your external devices simple to connect. I was happy to see that it came with a thunderbolt cable (I couldn't find this in the description) so my laptop was immediately ready to attach. It comes with a DisplayPort cable as well to daisy chain another monitor for dual displays. I will mention this is really my only disappointment with the monitor, and it is a very minor quibble, that using the DisplayPort is the only way to add secondary monitors. I do know this is the present and future of secondary screen tech, but I did use a different HP monitor as my secondary display before I’d gotten the Docking Monitor, and now I could not as it was an older HP product that still performs excellently. Fortunately for me I did have an HP monitor that has the DisplayPort input, but if you do not, you’ll have to buy a new monitor with DisplayPort input to use dual displays. Booting up my laptop, the HP Docking Monitor immediately worked, as did all my externals components. Offering plenty of USB ports and an HDMI made sure there wasn’t anything stopping me from getting right to work. And it works beautifully. I’ve found the color to be extremely accurate (which is essential in my field when I post so much online content and I need consistency across platforms), the detail crisp and sharp, the contrast well balanced, and the responsiveness to be immediate. I mostly do architectural photography, and need perfect reproduction, and with a single minor (4 tap) increase in brightness, the HP Docking Monitor worked to perfection right out of the box. I often use the monitor for client viewing as we go through the final edit process, and at 27 inches it’s large enough that a small group can easily gather around it. When working alone on large photoshop files, I can swivel it vertically and keep my History, Layer, and Action palates there to see at much greater detail. Though typically I use it as my primary monitor, as I find it to produce gorgeous color and detail, and I have every confidence that I’m getting the best out of my hours of work. It does have a retractable camera at the top of the screen, and it works decently, and can even be used for facial recognition, though I don’t use it as such. It does have very accurate facial tracking in both photo and video. Again, this isn’t something I need from my monitor, but I’m glad it is there and seems to perform well when I’ve played around with it. The monitor itself isn’t as thin or light as some of the other HP monitors I own, but it still keeps a low, modern profile, which is remarkable considering the amount of tech it offers. I am often in the pursuit of keeping my workspace less cluttered, especially as I see clients in my studio space. Being able to get rid of my old docking station frees up more room and eliminates more cords, and for that alone I love the HP Docking Monitor. Obviously I love and recommend this monitor, and am happy to report that HP is continuing to make excellent products that make my life cleaner and easier. I’m always happy to find a brand that I can trust, and thus far HP is knocking it out of the park.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review from a Mac user I thought I would chime in my my experience on Mac. Generally it works. One thing I had to do, to get the webcam to work, is to upgrade macOS to 10.15 (Catalina). On 10.14 (Mojave) it would only identify the webcam at low resolution (360p). After Catalina upgrade, it is automatically identified at 720p. This is a free upgrade but only available for moderately recent hardware. Even if you use a laptop that technically is supported by Apple on Catalina you might regret upgrading since new operating system versions tend to slow down older computers. I use a 2017 Macbook Pro and it's fine - I've had no issues. I've been using this monitor for hours a day with Google Meet and Zoom videoconferencing and both the audio and video from the webcam work fine. The resolution is more than non-Retina but less than full Retina. I don't see a single dead pixel. The packaging was all cardboard and honestly, pretty impressive. Very sturdy and secure. The stand is really nice -- it is solid, heavy metal and well made. It elevators up and down, tilts forward and back, and you can also rotate it to make this a "tall display." I do wish the built-in Mac brightness controls worked, but they don't. You need to use the buttons on the bottom-right edge of the screen to do that. A minor annoyance as I don't change these very much. I use almost all the plentiful USB-A and USB-C ports. It's nice to not need a separate USB hub. I ordered the HP S101 speaker bar which attaches mechanically to the bottom edge of the screen. This works well with macOS as well and just shows up as a regular audio output option. It has a "soft" USB volume wheel and it also responds to built-in volume control from the Mac. I would say only one out of 10 video conference calls someone on the call experiences echo when I am using both the built-in webcam/audio with the speaker bar. Usually lowering the volume one or two taps eliminates the echo but occasionally I've needed to switch to headphones. I would like to have Mac drivers for the webcam but again it does work (both video and audio) using the generic "USB Video Class" drivers built into macOS. I was able to find a command-line (only) utility called "uvc-util" on GitHub that has allowed me to tweak hue, color, saturation, exposure, brightness, etc. If you don't know how to install XCode command-line tools don't count on this option. You need to be familiar with software development to use this. One note here is for some reason when you're selecting the audio input, sometimes there are TWO audio inputs listed, both with the identical name: "HP Display Headphones." Only one of those will work, so if you are having problems just select the other one. Final note on the webcam. This is a large monitor. When on video I end up having to tilt the display forward even just slightly beyond vertical to get my head in the center of the video. I feel like the design of the pop-up webcam would be better if it had some built-in forward tilt so I didn't need to tilt the display awkwardly while on a video call. One last thing, I wasn't able to figure out how to connect everything on the monitor to my MBP without using both the USB-C to USB-C cable from the port on the monitor that provides power PLUS an Apple USB-C to HDMI converter. I was hoping the video output would go over USB-C using DisplayPort but I guess it's not surprising that two cables are needed and is not a big deal for me. I happened to already have Apple's USB-C to HDMI adapter so I didn't need to buy anything. So make sure to consider some potential additional expense for an adapter like this (Apple makes one as well as a lower cost one from Belkin). Final point on this: my MacBook Pro has 4 USB-C ports. If you are using a different machine with fewer ports you might want to think about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do Not Buy This if You Are a Mac User I purchased this because a sales rep assured that the camera would work with my MacBook Pro, which is about 6 years old and so does not have the new Thunderbolt 3 ports. Not only does this not work with my Mac, none of the adaptor systems that Apple recommended to fix the problem of MacBook not recognizing the camera actually helped. Indeed, they made things worse. The user manual is utterly useless and HP told me point blank that they did not intend to create drivers for this monitor so that it can work with Macs--but only after I had bought it. I have been on hold for over an hour trying to return this useless monitor.
