Rated 5 out of 5 by from WORST. PRINTER. EVER. We bought this printer roughly 3-4 months ago and it has been nothing but trouble. It's a printer, and the one thing it doesn't do is PRINT. Either the screen freezes, it says its out of paper when it has plenty, or simply just doesn't print when it's supposed to. I am sick and tired of restarting it and having to remove and re-add the printer to my computer and reinstall it. We paid good money for this printer and its JUNK. We never had an issue with our old printer, so it's not our network or our computer. It's the freaking printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer I’ve had one of these printers for several years and never had a problem. I use it everyday. I have a newer one that I put in another office where I use it a few days a month. It too, has been trouble free. These printers are fast and cheaper to use overall even though the cartridges seem expensive. You have to do the math. I use a special printer for photographs and can’t give an opinion about using this one for photos. I’m in process of ordering three more so you know I really like them.

Much quieter than previous HP machines and the printing is lightning fast. No wet ink on page to worry about and the machine is good-looking to boot!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast Positives: This is much faster than my previous HP printer. Color is very good (I do not print photos - just reports with colorful graphs). Paper handling for the scanner / copier is excellent. Negatives: Envelopes are hard to handle. The #1 tray only holds a few. You can print them from tray 2 but the menu for setting that up is not well thought out. Switching from plain paper to envelopes and back should be one click. Instead you need to scroll down a few pages of choices from 2 different dropdowns. So 2 suggestions: allow more envelopes in tray 1 or just remember the most recent options in the menu system to allow less scrolling. Put the most commonly used choices at the top. Allow us to remove choices we never use. The cartridges are on the expensive side but they do last long

When scanning more that 2 pages it grabs multiple pages and then I have to rescan multiple times in order to get everything scanned in. I've had a tech come out and fix it, another come out to replace the doc feeder and HP finally sent a replacement which was defective. Still waiting on yet another replacement to be sent, it's been a week, and hoping the newest on will work. Will never recommend this product to anyone and honestly will fight for a different brand the next time we decide to purchase printers for our office.

Since the day our laboratory bought it, it has given us errors every other time we go to print. It's still functional but you have to restart the thing every time you want it to work. Would NOT recommend.

Now our agency has turned off SMBv1 on our servers and Xerox will not help me. I looked at alternative HP printers and realized that everything in this price range will have the same problem. HP needs to learn to make a scanner that can handle todays security needs. Also the print quality isn't very good either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set-up. Very intuitive. Easy to set-up. Very intuitive. Fits on a desktop but is heavy and a little on larger size. Fast print. Sometimes grabs double sheets - so not perfect but very fast quality print. I haven't run coated photo paper thru it - only plain paper - I imagine with the better coated stock for inkjet it would look richer. Colors are Ok - don't really POP as much as I'd like but for office copies they look fine - just don't think you can print your marketing materials on this - stick with a professional service provider like your corner print shop or you'll look like they were run off on your desktop printer - lol

Prompt says "Cannot install software. Try again later." Uninstalled previous HP drivers before attempting install... multiple times.... no documentation about this issue.... SHOULD NOT BE HARD!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE WORST! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE printers. I bought a printer for $800 and within 2 years it broke. Then I decided I would do a trade it in but apparently my printer, and I quote "not worth the specified value amount for the trade in". So I went ahead and bought a brand new printer for $800 again. Within a month this printer was having issues with the yellow ink cartridge and there was a message constantly popping up saying "there is a problem with the supply system. Try replacing the affected cartridge with a different, non­empty cartridge." I replaced the ink 3 times and still the same message. I reached out to HP to try to get a replacement (all HP printers come with a warranty) and because I bought it through, and I quote, "not an 'Authorized Reseller', and as per HP’s warranty conditions, this voids the warranty of your device with HP". So now I have two useless printers standing in my office at $1,600 that went down the trash. On top of that costing me additional costs to print all my client documents else ware because I have no functioning printer IN MY OFFICE.

I had concerns while researching this as a replacement printer due to the very few and mixed reviews but I decided to give it a try. I found the setup very simple and fast. The printer plays well through my home network and has no issues communicating with all devices from laptops, tablets and cell phones. The printer is located directly behind my desk. It is silent in idle and very quiet while printing. It prints fast in both color and in black/gray tones. The starter ink cartridges have nearly the same quantity of toner as the standard replacement cartridges. I purchased this printer when it was on sale with a significant discount in price. I have no regrets!

Only had one issue (the scan table broke) within the warranty period and they sent a technician out to install it. Printing is super crisp and lightning fast - honestly just as good as any laser printer I have used in this category (granted, a $20K laser printer will do a better job).

When I send a fax from the Fax Printer feature, the printer does not generate a printed confirmation page. I have to go through multiple layers of online menu's to see the fax log. Any way this can be fixed? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worst money spent it keep searching for tray 1 which is a bad design to use if left open .So i always default to tray2 . tray 1 paper guide are terrible .always take more than 1 paper or half inch think of paper sucks up .and imagine out put door as a garage . out put door is always touching the top frame of the frame of the machine ,got message to clear the paper of out put area.too many error .only have 2.4 ghz wifi. always have connectivity issue with computer or going offline. i like the speed and color touch screen and big cartridge .

Only caution is that with color prints, regular paper appears damp/wet just after printing. It does appear that better results will be achieved with Colorlok brand paper - - which I have not yet tried. Good value.

There have been so many problem with the printer I don't even know where to begin. 1) The blue screen of death just popped up one day and it is very difficult to remove it. 2) The scan driver just stopped working one day and none of the tools provided by HP seem to fix the issue. When you call tech support they want to charge $122 to fix their problem. 3) The printer cartridges seem to drain prematurely even when you are not printing in color and doing mostly scanning. These things are extremely expensive. 4) Connecting a network cable apparently prevents the wireless access from other PCs on the network. I have been dealing with this issue for several months and overall printer problems for over a year now. I am so done with HP. I swore that I would never buy another HP computer and now I am swearing to never buy another HP anytime. Take my warning, this printer is 100% junk.

Not noticeably faster than the old machine. also having issues with it pulling more than one page thru at a time -- will call for service after the holiday

I had the HP OfficeJet all in one the series 6960, it broke down on me.. this printer it’s perfect for all the invoice I print, very fast.. I did like the one I had it was very new.. Wish I could have fixed that.. well I need the printer faster.

Prints will smudge easily even after the ink has dried fully and the quality of the document scanner is mediocre at best. If you are simply looking for the lowest cost per page, this is it. However if you are looking for top quality printing, look elsewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a good investment Unless you use this printer everyday, it has problems with ink drying so continue replacement of toner cartridges is needed; printing of borderless pictures does not print borderless; in 2 1/2 years, we had issues with blank vertical lines multiple times where we had to continue perform printhead cleaning and now we have to replace the printhead. HP support recommended to just replace this printer due to the cost as it doesn't sell the printhead to customers. Oh, and when we purchased this printer (new), we registered it with HP and it showed that the warranty was already expired. I would not recommend this printer or any HP products to anyone.

After speaking with Apple, it seems that HP needs to update its firmware. I have been a loyal buyer of HP, but if this is not fixed, I will not buy their products again.

I wanted a replacement printer, the exact same model, but I could not get through all the layers of support/lack of support to get a replacement, so I gave up and returned the bad printer. Please make sure to credit by payment card.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer - little to no support I purchased this in 2018, barring some problems and a replacement a year later, I've loved this machine. So much so, I just purchased a second tray to go with the original unit as we have been using it more and more. However, that required an update to the print driver on our Mac computers and now the machine will not function correctly. Color only on a generic post script driver but only trays 1 & 2 work, I can use all three trays on the PCL driver, but no color, The driver I downloaded from HP, no longer works on the Mac. We've attempted IP config adding the machine, I've spent hours on the phone with HP Tech support, and nothing. If you have a Mac, stay away! It's a known issue in their own Knowledge Base and you can find plenty of discussions online.

The rep suggested this printer and we couldn't be happier. We'd had an old laser printer, but she said this new technology would be faster and better quality and that, for our needs, we didn't need to spend the money on a laser printer. She couldn't have been more right. It's great. Quiet, fast, clean print with cheaper replacement cartridges and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend this unit!!

The 477dw failed on the logic board - cost to replace the board far exceeded the value of the printer. What did I do? Buy the 577dw. Things were great -- until I got out of warranty again and now have a print ink leak from the cyan cartridge. I love these printers for their speed, the beauty of the print quality and the two-sided printing but I can't keep dumping $600-800 every couple of years. I'm out to find another printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not going back to laser I'm delighted by the performance and efficiency of this printer -- and very surprised by the negative reviews here. I've used laser printers for the last two decades and hadn't really noticed how good ink has become. Compared to my HP 605n, the print quality is as good or better, slightly faster with b/w text, and also now color as a bonus! At the same time, the cost per print is lower (b/w) and I'm using less energy. Absolutely no issues with drivers printing/scanning from Mac/PC/iOS and Android on my network. Works like a charm all around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic multi-functional printer I use this for my home office and really like the functionality of the various features such as wireless printing, scan to pc (both page sides), colour output, multi page capacity with printing on both sides. Accepts both letter and legal size paper. Prints quickly in both black and white and colour. Looks sleek as well and the footprint is a good size for its capabilities. There are likely many other options but I haven't had an opportunity to try them yet. Only drawback is I thought the ink would last longer based on the quantity I've printed but it doesn't detract from the printer itself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP pagewide 577dw printer sucks Never worked right. 18 month old, less than 1000 pages on it, ran out of black ink. changed the cartridge now I get error 0xc6fd0013 ink system failure. can't even complete a factory reset without error. heard they were just replacing the units if asked , due to the horrible design flaws and reliability issues, but no longer as they have discontinued the models.
