Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Disappointing This came with my HP envy x360 laptop worked for awhile then one day just stopped. I tried replacing the batteries but it still didn't work. Upon researching it turns out this is a very common problem with this pen. It's really disappointing cause it worked really well those first few months however a pen that only works a few months is not worth the money.

It comes with 2 extra tips that differ in size for purposes of coverage when writing or other applications that it can benefit from... I would certainly recommend this product for this type of laptop. Thanks HP.

The tip for the original snapped off and I had difficulty getting the old tip out. These replacements work great and I got the old tip out by gluing it back on and pulling it out. Now I have 3!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better option for non GDesign use than Surface Pen I use both pen types and l love both. I purchased this for a back up as I will drop my Surface often. I have actually switched to using it as my primary work pen as it fits better in my pocket. Lack of magnet and lack of weight is a downside to me and I do notice a difference in Photoshop with details. Main usage is for charting in a medical office and has been great.

Once I received the pen I noticed the box ripped as if it was previously opened, at the time it was not an issue. I installed the battery and right from the start I was having problems with it. The pen was not communicating with my HP Pavilion x360 m1 convertible which according to HP sales representative the pen is compatible with my device. I called the HP customer service and I was just being transferred to different departments until finally one of the departments representative answered and confirmed the product was defective, but was transferred to ANOTHER department to be able to do an exchange, but I been on hold since 1100 am ITS 1655 WESTERN TIME! HP is quick to take your money when you are interested to purchase a product but will not help you when you have an issue with their products. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND anybody to purchase a product from their website or over the phone! I gave it 1 star because it did not give me the option to not rate it.

I hate that when a manufacturer switches up like that. They dont ask questions of their client preferences. Manufacturers just assume... And then they want to charge a premium... hmm let me see - NO! Regardless, the pen works well for a supposed redesign and this is the only color available...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pen Pen feels natural on x360, buttons are great shortcuts and make writing, selecting, and erasing a breeze. Being able to see the pointer before touching the screen is a huge plus, some apps and websites use that as a hover function for menus. The only problem is that you will never want to use any other stylus type of pen.

The hook has just cracked since it's been clipped to the case every day for a year, but I think it can be glued or get a replacement part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Representative recommended an incompatible item I originally purchased the Active stylus for my sisters HP Envy x360 and when I spoke to a representative(Madison D) she said that the HP pen is the compatible pen for the laptop. I gave her the model #, s/n #, etc... I ordered the HP pen and when I received it I decided to still keep the Active Stylus just in case and when my sister tried using it on her laptop they both didn’t work. I had to return both. I gave it 1 star because of my experience not because of the item.

It did not work with my laptop. I called support and was told it was not compatible with my laptop. I was told that the HP Active Stylus (J4R51AA#ABL) would work with my laptop. I sent the HP Pen back and ordered the HP Active Stylus. The HP Active Stylus did not work when I received it. Called HP support today and was told that there are no HP pens or stylus that work with my laptop. I'm sending the HP Active Stylus back. Very disappointed in HP to have wasted so much of my time and also not to produce a pen/stylus to work with their touchscreen laptops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jesus Christ. I bought the pen for my new Pavilion x360 laptop and it was a waste of money. It works fine in art programs that are sold/downloadable on the Microsoft Store, which I expected, but god forbid you use photoshop, paint tool SAI, or any program along those lines. There isn't any pen pressure, and no matter how hard I tried, and no matter how many tutorials I looked up, I couldn't solve the problem. I thought it was the fault of paint tool SAI at first, so I tested it with my old Wacom tablet, but pressure worked just fine with the tablet. The issue is, there aren't many pens out there (that I've seen) compatible with my computer model. The fact that an HP brand pen didn't work well either is just depressing. Clearly, this pen isn't good, and after reading other reviews and other opinions, I know I'm not the only one who feels this way about it.

No need to give us your serial number." But when I try to magically touch the pen to the screen, what happens? Oh that's right! Nothing!!!!! Very frustrated. Why would my laptop have "pen capabilities" but isn't compatible with this pen??????? Next laptop is an Apple Macbook! I'm over this!!!!

When the replacement arrived, I had the same problem that it would not work on my computer. I even had HP check out my computer, by serial no. and model no. to see if it should work on my computer, and it was supposed to work. I think there is a definite manufacturing problem with the pen. Very disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute Garbage This pen and the convertible laptop are the entire reason I selected this product, but despite that, it looks like I'm going to have to throw down the extra money for an external tablet, as this is completely useless. The pen "works," by technical definition. For some unknown reason, it doesn't work properly in the top, right-hand corner of my laptop screen, where the pointer starts to delay. That's where it is the worst, but the sensitivity is poor around the entire edge of the screen. There are no settings that allow me to reconfigure the pen, making it impossible to fix this issue. The computer itself is not set up to recognize the pen properly -- I am able to change settings for a bluetooth connected pen that does not come with the system, and the active pen does not respond to setting changes made to the pen that the OS recognizes within the stylus settings. Better yet, I can't find any information about other pens that might be compatible with this laptop, and it was recently put on sale. So I spent $900 on a laptop that is now cheaper and, despite the claims, cannot do what I bought it for. You'd be better off setting fire to a $50 bill. At least you'd get warmth and energy off of that, as opposed to continuous frustration and disappointment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will NOT work on HP Pavilionx360 HP specialist told me to get this pen for this computer. Computer documentation says, "Pen & touch support with 10 touch points." I followed directions - paired it with bluetooth, checked the connection, found that it connects when I test it, but seems to disconnect itself when I try to use it with pen-enabled apps like AutoDesk and Windows Ink Workspace. I would love to get a solution. I've had the pen for 3 months and haven't been able to use it.

When we received it, it didn't work. Tech support couldn't get it to work. We are trying to return it but since it was a gift, and not opened right away, HP is reluctant to allow us to return it and replace it. Buyer Beware!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pen but fell apart within 2 months I absolutely loved this pen. It wrote just how I wanted it and I used it every single day to take notes in my classes. It worked perfect for about the first month, then started to have problems after that. Occasionally the pen would stop working as I was writing and I would have to take the battery out and put it back in for it to work again. Then after just two months the tip of the pen came out and would not stay securely in the pen until final it fell out and was lost. Then pen is now useless and no replacement tips are available for purchase. Extremely disappointed it only lasted a short two months and HP will not replace it.

These Jmokes on the line took 30 minutes to figure out i wasn't calling about a tablet, my laptop, or a printer, and then tried to tell me that no hp pen is compatible with my computer. Their website says that this pen IS compatible with the HP ENVY x360, and I have used a different model of their pen before with little issue. Thank you HP for wasting my time, my money, and my patience. I'm going to go return this piece of junk pen now. Never shopping with HP again.

Except once when they told me one of the same ones I’d been told prior. HP needs to be more clear about what is compatible with what and have it organized out better. If they did that more people would probably buy them. But after my 6th call and being on hold so they can discuss with the superiors they concluded this was the pen for me..... wrong! Not compatible so now after waiting a week already for it to arrive, I’m sitting and waiting another week for the refund to process so that I can turn around and buy a different pen which will probably take a week to get here too.... I’d hoped for better. For reference I have the HP envy x360 15t. And it is NOT COMPATIBLE wth HP envy x360 15t! And if that’s the laptop you have do not buy this pen regardless of how many reps tell you is the one. It’s in fact not

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for pdfs and taking notes! Came with my spectre last year (2018) and it works just as well as when I first got it a year ago. I use it for my classes, to take notes on pdfs and powerpoint as well as signing documents etc. The only thing that I would say that bothers me sometimes, is when I write the screen responds to my hand, and being left handed maybe makes it more noticeable? I've gotten better at working around this though. Hopefully the new pens don't do this (and yes, it is configurable to hand dominance).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keep your expectations low. Buy in only if on sale Is just simply a good pen but nothing extraordinary. It lags. Slow screen recognition. The build material is good. But there is plenty of room for improvement. I know that is a different kind of stylus but these Windows Ink stylus are not even close to a Samsung Note stylus capabilities.

After an issue with the shipping dates, I did receive my pen the day I was supposed to. Then I try the pen out on the sketchbook autodesk app, not working. Try the windows workspace app, still no luck. Frantically scribbles all over screen, but still no such luck. HP should not advertise these pens as compatible if THEY DON'T WORK. I have the HP Pavilion convertible, which this pen is supposed to work for. Unsatisfied completely. Thanks HP.

It was very hard to find out whether they were compatible, I had to search through several forums until I found a list of compatible computers and mine was on the list. However turns out it wasn’t compatible and the touch screen wouldn’t register the pen. I called customer service and it took them forever to even figure out if it was compatible either or if it was just a faulty pen , One person told me the website said it was compatible and another person told me that it was not. So I just returned the pen and bought a regular stylus.

This pen will do all of it for you, minus the eraser shavings, minus all the crumbled up paper, but you still might have to restart your calculation.

The buttons on this pen work surprisingly well, as well as the sensitivity and overall performance. Definitely worth the price!

I use it for digital art and it works great, definitely would recommend this pen to anyone who wants to start making digital art or needs a stylus/pen for their touchscreen computer. As a bonus it even works with my phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from decent This pen/stylus is decent. It is very light (in terms of weight) which makes it feel like its build quality isn't too great. The two buttons are easy to access and customizable but it is confusing. I'm not sure they work all the time. It doesn't always work for me. I do sometimes press the buttons unintentionally. It comes with a battery but it is not a bult in rechargeable battery. The stylus thus allow me to write on the screen though so at least it kind of does what it needs to do.

The accuracy it detects my handwriting and the smoothness that the top screws off wipes the floor with others. I'll be keeping a much closer watch on this one.

However, this HP pen does not work with my Envy laptop computer. I called customer service but they could not help me with this. On the website, it says my purchase is not refundable. Please be more clear about which computers this HP pen is compatible. It is a very disappointing experience and I don't know what to do with my purchase.

This pen was so easy to setup, put in the included battery and you done, and really helps the kids to draw fine lines, small letters and more!

I've got to say I actually prefer this to the other and it was less expensive which is great for a college student like myself. Then the 'O' button kept popping out of the keyboard :-) I returned the laptop and bought a Lenovo from Costco. So, I enjoyed the pen while I owned the laptop (for 2 weeks).

Unfortunately, it is not. HP ENVY x360 - m6-aq105dx doesn't have the compatibility for active PEN, I believe, despite it is a touchscreen. Hence, another disappointment with HP's customer service department. You would think they know their product. There is just too much information not available on their website about many products. And I also received the HP Pen in a bad packing condition too. Nothing but disappointment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pen for Art, Easy to Use I recommend for anyone who uses an HP product for art, since that is what I use the pen for. It's made drawing much easier and smoother. I got this pen since I was tired of using styluses meant for any device and this helped a lot. The lines I get are completely smooth/straight as opposed to the wobbly lines I got with general styluses. Pressure is detected which is nice, though it takes more pressure than you would naturally would use. I am really happy that I can rest the side of my palm on the screen without it getting detected. There are some times when releasing the pen or initially pressing down that it detects my hand and creates a huge mark. Another small downside to it not detecting your hand is that it takes more than one try sometimes to zoom in and out when moving around the screen when drawing. There are a lot of settings you can change the pen buttons to do rather than just being select and eraser, so if you use the stylus more for general laptop use, those settings are probably a good thing to explore.

The pen is priced around $60. It takes a AAAA battery. I didn't even know they made AAAA batteries and hope it's easy to find when replacing. The clip/ battery cover that screws off is plastic. I don't use it because it feels fragile. If you use it on a regular bases, I suppose you may get your money's worth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It doesn’t work I bought this through a chat with an HP customer service rep. I gave him the model number and serial number of the laptop I had bought for my wife. Since it is a touchscreen laptop it seemed reasonable to expect that it would work with a pen, but apparently it does not. The rep took a good five to ten minutes “researching” our laptop model to make sure he found a compatible pen. Now I’m out 50 bucks for something that does not work on this PC. I’m pretty sure now that no pen will work with it. I don’t understand how this technology works when a finger will work but a stylus won’t, but there you have it. The laptop is an HP 14-dk0736ms if anyone is curious.

Then stylus works perfect with my art program and I highly recommend it if you like to do digital art. It does take one AAAA battery and is a great size. This product in under-rated. However, I do wish it came with more set up instructions. I’ve played with it a lot and feel like I still don’t understand all of the features. I lost the stylus within 1 month of owning the laptop. I am not happy with the way the pen had to be charged, extra wires and cables you HAVE to keep track of, otherwise, the pen is rendered useless. Also, the way the pen is designed, it does not comfortably sit in your hand, it wants to turn and you accidentally push the side buttons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not compatible It worked once, then the touchscreen cracked and I sent it to HP for replacement. Since then, the pen stopped working. I have 2 pens, both work on a brand new Spectre X360 15" but will not work on the HP Pavillion x360. Based on all the troubleshooting and reviews, HP doesn't really help. I've reinstalled all drivers/BIOS/software and no change. I believe the problem has to do with the updated touchscreen/display drivers. I don't recommend buying other pens (recommended by HP) since they just make you buy all of them and then end up telling you none of them are compatible. Awesome.

I was finding pens that were compatible with the older models, and none specified my model specifically. Almost always, if I "got it anyway" I would end up disappointed. I searched Amazon and Ebay, even Wish. I looked at Walmart and Best Buy, to no avail. The ones that were compatible were DOUBLE to what the HP website had it listed as. I didn't at first think of trying the website, but I'm glad I did. My own was on sale!

I also saw other people say it wouldn't work so I took a chance and it works! It's not the best pen for artists, but it works. I know the tilt pen is meant for artists, but it was out of stock and this is cheaper. It's got pen pressure and an app that can change the button shortcuts which is cool. Sometimes when using it, I need to press twice or add more pressure, I'm not sure if that's on me or the pen though. It's also surprisingly light. Overall I'm satisfied

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for a student! I have the 2018 HP Spectre laptop, and I got this pen to use in tablet mode during my classes. Along with OneNote, I can download powerpoints and use the pen to easily take notes on and next to the slides. The two buttons I use to erase and scroll. It works well, and I've used it for a few weeks now without needing to replace the battery yet. Big improvement, and I started using it instantly with only a couple of classes to figure out how to use the HP Pen well!

It now stops working completely after about an hours worth of use. I use it exclusively for digital art and frankly its so annoying that I have to stop progress on my work so often!!

I am not sure why the overall rating is low but my assumption is that they did not check to make sure the stylus was supported by their laptop. I bought a brand new hp and did my research and made sure that the stylus I ordered would be compatible and it did. Works great!

I have a HP envy laptop with windows 10 which what it said would work on. My laptop folds into a tablet. It took 10 days to get the pen or 8 business days if you time skip and weekends just suddenly don't exist and people don't have jobs on saturday and sunday. I got the pen the box was smashed in on arrival but whatever its just a box carrying an expensive stylus that's fragile as hell. TO THEN HAVE THE PEN NOT WORK! I thought the battery they sent me was a dud so I went to best buy to try it on other hp computers to see. IT WORKS ON BEST BUYS LAPTOPS! I'M LIVID. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON BUYING AND HP PEN FOR AN HP LAPTOP CAUSE IT CLEARLY ISNT COMPATIBLE!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the pen, but.... Got the pen with my pc I bought a year ago. It works great and I really enjoy it. I write a little tilted and that causes problems for me sometimes, but I still think it's great! Its been over a year and it works great. I did have a few problems with the pen. It has an aluminium body and a plastic top with a clip and a few months ago it rolled off the table and fell on the ground and the plastic top just broke clean off. I've glued it and kept using it but it keeps breaking. It's difficult to use without the top glues on because the rest of the pen is way too short. Also, AAAA batteries are harder to find than anticipated, depending on where you live. I reached out to customer service through Facebook Messenger and they were really helpful. I would not have bought it if it didn't come with my purchase, but I'm happy I have it. And now that it's broken I'm here to buy a second one.

This pen really doesn't add to my setup and actually makes it more difficult to manuever after several practices of getting used to its functions but there are FEW activities it can be used for at this point. Pass on it. Save the $65+

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mostly Great! I bought the pen a few weeks ago and it seems to be working fine. I didn't have an issue with shipping, and it actually arrived early! It is perfect for note taking and little drawings for class. The only downside is that there is a little lag with the mouse pointer thing, but other than that I think it works fine. I was a little depressed to find that the pen is not magnetic (HP Envy has magnetic sides). I just got an HP Envy too and I think they are the perfect pair!

I had originally read mixed reviews about compatibility but the HP pen is completely compatible with my Envy x360!!! I purchased both to use for school and so far they have been nothing but great. I love the fact that you can edit the features of the 2 buttons on the pen to be what you need them to be.

Our agency purchased this to compliment the HP ENVY x360 convertible we recently bought for the CEO to use for document signing during employee reviews, etc. The setup was easy. The buttons are easily assigned through the corresponding app but are awkward to use because of their placement. The pen works well enough for drawing and signing but requires several taps to select or open/close. I would recommend this pen only for drawing or signing but not as an everyday stylus.1

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only worked for a few months My HP pen came with my laptop when I ordered it about August 2021. It worked fine until about November 2021. It started having connectivity issues about this time and eventually stopped connecting at all. I tried multiple things to get it to work again - changing the battery, updating my laptop items, etc. I ultimately contacted HP support and they stated that it seemed to be an issue with the pen since the computer seemed to be functioning as normal. They sent a new one, which I received about December 2021. I have been using this new one for awhile and it worked fine at first. Just a few days ago, it started having connectivity issues like my first one. Once again, I tried a few different things to get it to work - changing the battery, updating system drivers, restarting the computer, etc. Once again, I ended up talking with HP support about the issue. The interaction lasted about 2 hours and ultimately, we weren't able to get it sorted out. They planned on sending me a new pen and having me return the old pen. This required a small downpayment (~$1) to ensure they received the old product. While attempting to input my bank information for this product, it was charged about 10-12 times to my account. This was partially my fault in terms of billing information, but by the time we had fixed the information, my bank denied the charge and wouldn't allow any more access. I simply thanked support and exited the session. While I appreciate the attempt to send a new pen, I'm frustrated that this has happened 2 times in less than a year and that I have had to contact HP support 2 separate times in what were 1+ hour sessions each. Similarly, I am frustrated at the fact that there was no reasoning given for the pens messing up. If it had been user error, I would've gladly fixed what I was doing (storing the pen, usage, etc), but no suggestion was given besides the pen being faulty/the buttons were messed up. I do not want to go through this multiple times. If this was simply a matter of bad luck and I got two faulty pens, then this is a good pen and worked well while it lasted. Otherwise, I am looking into other pen options for my laptop. I use it for school and cannot risk having my pen mess up again while I rely on it for schoolwork

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spoiled by an S pen My work Samsung tablet wasn't the first tablet I've used but it made me seriously consider buying a tablet. Part of that decision was heavily influenced by the docking S pen and the feel of the pen on the tablet. As a childhood pencil artist, the feel of utensil to surface is really important to me. I think this pen with my Envy laptop misses that mark a little. I also prefer the asymmetrical shape of the S pen, however I hate the placement of it's button. I think the buttons on the HP pen are a more usable size and easier to find. The clip seems kind of flimsy and therefore useless. It does however stick to the side of my Envy which I really like.

The only thing I would say that I don’t like is it makes marks from your palm if you do not put the pen tip down first.

I came to this website because I wanted the real deal and not an off brand, and I'm soooo disappointed!! HP is a great brand but so many negative reviews on all their pen/stylus!! Why is this? I hope they read the reviews and build from this. I chose my laptop over an Apple for numerous reasons, but this is a real bummer. Hope to see this change HP!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cap frequently breaks I'm on my third HP pen and I refuse to ever get another one. My second pen's cap kept popping off. Now my third one's is so difficult to unscrew due to the cheap aluminum used to make it that I can't change the battery without nearly breaking it or my hand. For $45-60 AND from HP, I expect much better quality. The only reason this is some expensive is because these are the only pens that work with some of their laptops.

The replies also say that as long as your device has the option to add a pen under the Bluetooth settings, that this pen will work--that is not accurate. It cannot be connected via bluetooth and will not work with all HP Windows Ink products.

This is very frustating. Very displeased with the product and with the services of HP. Be aware of your laptop model, because this pen online works on speciffic devices. I suggest going personaly on a HP store and test the pen before place your order.

I fortunately live in a larger city where the hardware stores carry them for $2 a piece, but you'd be hard pressed to find these away from the cities. Why not have a built-in rechargeable battery like the Apple Pen?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Be careful with the Nib!!! I have loved this pen for a while now, never had any problems with it! My pen isn’t under warranty anymore and now the tip of the nib broke off. There doesn’t seem to be any way to extract it— it literally has rendered this item useless. I can’t get any leverage even with the thinnest precision tweezers. The top does not appear to unscrew so you can remove the base of the nib. I’m just out of luck I guess! My recommendation is to get a pen where the top can unscrew so that you can remove any broken nibs!!!

Had to go buy a new one today as I have class tomorrow. HP is also not helping nor standing by this product in anyway and are trying to offload it because I didn't get it with the laptop.

They were attempting to send me a replacement, but for whatever reason their “system” was not able to process it. Terrible customer support. Incompetent. Even the supervisors that I spoke to lacked the ability to resolve. Finally I hung up and just processed the return myself directly on the HP website where I purchased the item. Requested full refund, not a replacement. Went and ordered another product, not an HP. Never again will I buy anything HP.

This seems like it could be fixed in a software update although for now it heavily limits its application (For example; I really need middle mouse click).

It is comfortable to hold, comes with extra nibs, and is said to work quite well by those who are able to use it. I ordered this pen with an HP computer. But alas, while they had stock of pens and shipped it to me quite adroitly, the computer, which the web site implied could be delivered in as little as five days, has been a no-show since January (it now being March) and the last mention of a possible ship date has it set out to the end of March at best. Assuming I do someday receive the computer that I can use with the pen, I am quite confident that the pen will work. But in the mean time, to judge it as a non-functional art object, it really isn't that interesting or amazing in any particular way. The ergonomics and comfort of holding it could always be improved. Adding some heft would probably be nice as well, particularly when using it as a paperweight. Having some kind of nice storage solution for keeping it with the computer you use it with would have been very nice, especially if the pen charged while docked in some clever and convenient way. The ability to personalize the pen with grips, designs, colors, anything at all that would make it one's own, would be a nice addition as well.

I discovered they were not responsive to my request. Returned the Lenovo and got an HP. Glad I did as the HP has performed flawlessly. Happy with my new laptop.

I had it for a semester and a half but I could not get over the jumping and the sound. I will be looking for better options on the market. As I said, it does the job, but it's annoying.

It was nearly impossible to find any actual help and information for the product. Basically it didn't work even though it was supposed to be compatible. Can't even return it.

The agent said that this pen is compatible with my HP laptop model 15-dy1074nr and even sent me a link to place the order FROM THE HP WEBSITE. There were few instructions on how to set up the pen. Once I figured out what software to download (HP Pen Control) for this specific pen, I got a message saying, "Sorry, HP Pen Control is not compatible with this computer." The pen is not even a real HP product according to HP's customer service call center. This was a very frustrating experience as I insisted on making sure I was getting the appropriate pen for my laptop when chatting to the online agent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't work as well as the pen I lost I recently bought a Spectre x360. Within the 1st week, I lost the pen that came with it. After a desperate, fruitless search, I broke down and bought this one (AND ordered a stick-on pen holder). I even chatted with HP to make sure this pen would work with my Spectre. The pen works better than my finger - most of the time. It will randomly stop working. (Yes. The batteries are new.) For example, I'll want to right-click on something, press the appropriate pen button, and nothing happens; or I've finished with a page tab, hit the x to close and nothing happens. I'm able to use the pen to scroll, to open and switch between tabs, but not always to highlight or open a link or close a page. The Spectre screen responds just fine to the same commands when I use my finger, so methinks it's a glitch in the pen. I'm still within the window to return it. I'm debating whether or not, it's worth the hassle --- especially since there is no guarantee the replacement will work. If only HP sold the pens that are specific to their laptop models.

I checked all the product details and it simply said it works with hp products, so I ordered it. Turns out it is not compatible with my hp laptop. It should not be this difficult to figure out if the product will work before ordering it. I am going to try ordering a pen again, and this time I will write a forum message telling people my laptop type and asking what pens will work, so I don't end up burning another $50.

In addition, the buttons for erase and right click are helpful Cons: The pen often disconnects in the middle of writing, regardless of battery level. Also, the palm mute feature is pretty bad and often pulls up an onscreen keyboard while writing. General thoughts: A normal stylus is annoying because you can't at all set your palm on the computer. The HP pen sometimes lets you set your palm down. For about the same functionality, the stylus works the same for cheaper. tl:dr - HP pen works okay but really doesn't offer much being that it doesn't work half the time. Save yourself the money and the annoying palm mute issues and just use a cheap stylus

Its gone through only two battery changes and almost daily use for 4 years and it still works half the time. I never had a problem with this pen until now-- obviously the nib is worn due to use but the back screw end of the pen has sort of disconnected from the spring keeping the battery in place? I can take off the darker park bug can't access the battery anymore. I've tried tape, I've tried pliers, I've tried getting someone stronger to try to twist it, nothing. Still, this stylist served me well. Rip

It included a magnetic area for pen holding. However it did not include the pen. I contacted HP to make sure I ordered the correct one. Now I'm completely happy.

The 2 buttons also don't feel very nice to click and they're hard to find without looking. Also the software for changing the button functions is terrible, there are limited options and it's just a poorly designed app.

It seems to work ok but is not the same as writing on paper because the computer screen will have pop-ups, etc if any part of my hand touches it while trying write. Additionally, there is no place in the pen to store the 2 extra writing tips that come with the pen, so they could easily get lost.

This pen sucks. There's no pressure sensitivity at all. If you lightly make a line, it doesn't draw at all and pressing harder makes no difference. Definitely a no for artists.
