One would assume that HP products would work for the entire product line. Unfortunately due to a delay in setting up the laptops we are now out of the 30 day return window. Having to find a third party USB-C docking station for these laptops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect addition I got this travel dock after my DELL dock burned up. This dock fits my needs with plenty of USBs and that VGA port for my old display when I'm in the office. Most importantly the connecting cord is built tough - rock solid. I don't expect it to fail as fast as my DELL unit did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy design and functionality Love the design and while it is a bit larger is size than I anticipated it works great and allows me to use a wide range of connectors. Being able to connect directly to the internet using a "traditional" internet cable is something I find useful when sending or receiving large amounts of data. Without the Travel Dock I would have to rely on Wifi only for my Spectre 360. Well worth the money.

Purchased this Spectre docking station to go with my Spectre laptop...after confirming everything was connected properly, the video displays would not work. When I called HP tech support his words were, "The Spectre docking station isn't compatible with the Spectre laptops." Left me speechless. Needless to say, the docking station is going back! Unbelievable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don’t buy this product, it’s defective This product is defective. HP claims you can connect your Laptop AC Adaptor to the dock and this will power it up. Well I have tried that and it doesn’t works, even the light doesn’t comes on. They sent me a new one under the warranty, same problem. Agent I spoke on the phone agreed that it’s a defective design and the product specification do not hold to be true. What a shame!

I am glad it was available because I'd only come across another Dock that only supports VGA without support for HDMI. So I like it. I haven't used it yet because I've been traveling alot; am sure it works as I expect. However, honestly, I think it is bulky and the cord is too long. I'd appreciate it more of the cord was shorter or if there was a way to replace the long cord with a shorter one.

But the HP USB-C travel dock does not come with a power cord and the power cord for my HP notebook would not fit into the USB-C travel dock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for my Stream laptop I like this little travel dock the only problem was my stream laptop for home does not have a type c usb need to buy a type c to USB B adapter I did not notice until i got my travel dock. My 11in stream for my travel has the type c so it is fine. Should make a recommended buy for accessory for those that don't have the type c plugin. Overall this is a perfect fit for both my 14 and 11 stream laptops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not support video with my HP Laptop After buying and returning 2 different generic USB-C docking stations that did not support an HDMI connection of an external monitor to my HP Laptop, 15-dw1xxx, SKU 7CZ23AV I had a chat session with a representative at HP. After I explicitly asked if it would support the video connection to my laptop, he recommended this docking station. Well, this doesn't work either ... will be returning it. Might be an issue with my laptop, but this does not address my need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great travel dock! Takes a single USB-C port and adds a connection for just about any reasonable need you could have while on the go. Need to share a presentation or watch a movie in a group setting, it has a HDMI and VGA port for displays (and audio on HDMI). No WiFi, but there are wired network alternatives? This dock provides ethernet. Not to mention 2 more USB Type A ports for all those odd accessories! The built in cable nests into the bottom of the device with a loop of the cable able to be used as a carrying strap. The aesthetic also complements the Spectre line perfectly, presents an elegant and classy look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overpriced, mediocre, don't buy I bought this thinking that original branded item would guarantee higher quality and better functionality for higher price. Could not be more wrong. It feels cheap, it cannot even be used to charge devices (no matter what PD is used). There are so many 3rd party alternative 3 times cheaper offering better build quality and functionality. I cannot recommend this item. Very disappointed. I would return it if I kept original packaging.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't Work as Accessory Prompted by Purchase This dock was suggested by HP on its online store as an accessory to my purchase of a Spectre x360 laptop 13t. The Spectre puts out display signals at default 60hz, option to reduce to 40hz. This docking station accommodates a 30hz refresh rate. It did not work with the Spectre for display on any TV or projector (tried many) via the HDMI ports. The laptop display flickered, and the seccond display just went haywire (flashing diagonal lines at the top of the display). I discovered this after 30 days. HP would not accept a return. I have subsequently purchased a JCreate dock which works flawlessly. Despite this product being useless, HP recommended it for the laptop and then refused to accept a return.

Will be returning this item in the conveniently included return bag that came with my purchase. Seems like HP expects many product returns. Sad but true

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How does it work? Hooked up as shown in diagram. Can’t figure out how to make it turn on. Want to log into HP help, but print on the unit is so small that I can’t read the model and serial number. I’ve had 4 or 5 docking stations before and never had a problem.

The HDMI port at 4K only supports a refresh rate of 30 frames/sec which was not listed on the web site nor does it provide refresh rates at other resolutions. The other issues is I left it plug into the laptop with it being powered off and it drained the laptop battery - this is really bad. The other issue when I unplugged the hub it took a while for the wifi to turn on.

So, you have to buy another charger to make the pass through charging feature work. Called customer support to complain / ask why they would do this, and they were extremely unhelpful. Will be returning the product because I don't want to buy another charger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product with one big disadvantage Though it works fine and with no issues it has a major flaw that is not mentioned in the specs- when my laptop is off, this dock keeps drawing power. Nothing but unplugging it every time solves this problem. I would send it back if I could. Knowing how premium laptop owners care for bqttwry lifespan HP should have really engineer it so it enters a sleep stay when the laptop is turned off. A Considerable number of battery percents is lost if this dock stays connected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All I need; ready to go! Compact and lightweight, the travel dock is loaded with ports. It would be better with a slot for a card reader, even if that were only the 'micro' class, but I can always daisy chain one in after buying another dongle. Really do like that the cord has such a solid feel, as its dual function as a lanyard is quite nice; been no trouble finding it after looping it with the strap which holds my laptop into the slot of my bag.

The laptop has been delay until sometime in March after I was told it would ship on 11/18. Why did that happen? I now have a docking station I can't use. I tried to purchase the laptop last Spring 2020. It was delayed twice then out of nowhere HP cancelled the order. It appears you are doing the same thing.

Docking station no video After several conversations with Techs that are supposed to KNOW something about the products and accessories, I conclude that they don't know JACK about HP accessories. This is the 2nd docking station model and it doesn't work either for external video.

Makes the product almost useless to me. This limitation should be very clearly and obviously reported in the advertising and product descriptions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great concept however instructions are far & few! I recently purchased this to complement my new Spectre x360-15t. Problem is the instruction were very vague. It references a usb power source, and indicates that you use the power source that came with the computer however the connectors are very much deferent. The power connector for the travel dock is USB C and the power supply is a standard “blue” HP connector. Also there is no mention of any alternative power supply.....so what does one do? Guess?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not A Product To Buy I bought this dock thinking it was like the products of old where I could use it to power the laptop and keep the charging cord in my attache, connect an external monitor, keyboard and mouse, and have one component do all tasks. FAIL. This is a poorly designed product and is powered off of the USB on the laptop not external power. What clinched the call for an RMA return less than 30 minutes after unpacking is how drastically it factors down, the wired internet connection. I routinely get +/- 200 mg download speeds, this brought it down to 125-135 mg and no way would I give up that much for really no convenience or advantage. So it was an easy decision to not use or try to adapt to this product. Truly very poor design.

Works seamlessly with Ethernet, USB printer, USB Mouse and Keyboard, and brand new 24" Monitor with HDMI. Saw it on Amazon but not details on model number; so Ichose HP website to make sure I got the latest iteration of the docking port.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product Having one port used to add LAN, HDMI, VGA, ect makes it easy. I wish it had one more HDMI to attach multiple monitors. The design is interesting but the loop just takes up space and snags on items in my bag. I would like to have seen the short cord wrap around the device and not creating a loop. It is the only reason so far for losing one star.

Now if HP would only get some inventory so I can actually get the right thing we'd be in good shape!
