Also the front plate of CD/DVD slide out is broken so when the button is push to open it gets stuck and I have to wiggle it open. Over time this will get worse.

CPU is maxed a lot of the time, apps are dragging, video is verging on stop motion. Still troubleshooting what the issues are, but this is not living up to expectations out of the box.

Their vendors, that make their internal parts, are of high quality which gives them excellent quality, performance and reliability. I have bought over 20 Lenovo desktops and laptops over the years and with the exception of one desktop they have all lasted well beyond their expected useful life. I would recommend that anyone buy Lenovo even if they are slightly more expensive, it is worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a good first impression The ThinkStation P340 Tower Workstation was packed great but was missing the mini display port adapters that should be included with the Nvidia card in this configuration. I plugged in a normai display port cable (bypassing the Nvidia card) Unfortunately, when I tried to boot it, it would beep and just sit there. I tried multiple times to reboot it but it still won;t get past a blank screen. Finally, I pressed F1 F8 F12 multiple times and after nothing seemed to work I walked away from the machine. After about 30 minutes, it finally showed me the Win 10 setup screen. I called sales about the missing adapter but no one every got back to me. I bought a mini display port to display port cable and it works fine now. Also, terrible chemical odor from the unit for a few days after it was on. Gave me a headache for days. Ventilation is clearly required when you first get this device. Otherwise it's a decent PC for the money.

I upgraded to the P340 Tower to gain the power and speed of the i7 processor along with the increase in memory to 16GB. I am extremely pleased with the performance at a very reasonable price point. Setup was very simple; plug and play. Since this was a pre-built tower deal, I received it in less than 4 days.

The machine moves so fast that you can't put off something in the office and later use the excuse that your machine was moving too slow!

And balks at nothing. Did a clean install of Windows 11, and it took about 7 minutes. Tackles multiple open tabs, workbooks and documents. Don't worry, it will handle it. AND QUICKLY!

We went from 95% processor usage to 15% usage when streaming using our Vimeo livestream studio 6 software. Highly recommend it. And this was the best priced PC for these specs.

With support it depends on who you get it is hit or miss on getting the problem fixed. Ran some diagnostic for on support person and he was leaning on replacing the motherboard but the next day when call back into support got a different support person who has me waiting for the computer to crash again. Like I said it Denton who answers the support call.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Solid Workstation for Entry + Mid Level Use My specific specification is towards the higher end for this particular machine. My machine came with the following: Processor: I9 10900K GPU: Quadro RTX 5000 RAM: 2x 16GB 2TB HDD 1TB SSD boot drive WIFI with Bluetooth As soon as I received the machine, I was impressed at how small the case was. Although this was a welcome design choice, I wanted to make sure that it did not overheat given the rather hot hardware inside. After running Cinebench several times and 3d mark, the components did not thermal throttle. The CPU did occasionally reach 82 degrees C during testing but not for sustained periods. However, how does the machine hold up in actual use? Well, I have only been able to use the machine for a bit over a week but I have already noticed many improvement over my last PC. First and foremost, it is quiet at idle, very quiet. This is very nice for someone like me who is easily bothered by small mechanical noises. When it is under load, the sound remains at very ignorable levels. The selection of USB ports (4 in the back, 4 in the front + 1 USB C in the front) has been very nice for someone such as myself who makes full use of each and every one. I have used this machine with a double monitor setup (1080p on each) and it was very pleasant. This particular configuration handles VR ( using an oculus rift S) with ease. It never drops frames or results in any discomfort during the VR session (using REVIT and testing some games as well such as Boneworks). As far as productivity goes, its hard to say how good it is because it handled everything that I personally have to throw at it (Autodesk and Adobe Programs). Given my current spec being designed to future proof this for my needs for some time, this is not surprising. This is not my first Lenovo system either. I have written this review on my ThinkPad P52 which has also been a wonderful machine. I am mentioning this to show that I went into this machine with very high expectations and it has met all of them. I cannot recommend this machine enough as it stands currently. If anything major happens later on down the line, I will try to amend my statement.

Purpose built for ISV rated software, which was the reason for the purchase. Good price for the specs as well. Great for someone entering an engineering college/tech school program like I am. I'm very happy with the power it provides and how long I anticipate it being usable with the software I will be running. I did buy the highest spec version possible, so this review may not be applicable to everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor workmanship and questionable OS stability I ordered this unit with a front HDD enclosure, for the joy of popping off hard drives like a thumbdrive. Yet, with the unit and its replacement, power cable was not connected for the HDD enclosure. For the initial unit I received, its data+power connecter was left loose from the enclosure. I suppose it is the on-going situation to blame, not Lenovo. However, with the initial purchase and a replacement, Premier support offered little help with a "Freezing situation", where I cannot use mouse nor keyboard for up to 10 seconds. The major frustration is that this should happen in an unpredictable manner. The return and exchange process took almost a "short" month. Still, with the replacement unit, my blood froze along with the machine on the 2nd day of loading a full Windows installation on it. After the initial 10 seconds of no-response, I was curious enough to try the same OS disk and memory sticks and graphic card on an old PC: it worked for 4 days straight without freezing at all. With the replacement unit, it went even worse where I was always prompted with a white screen on a Radeon graphic card. The only way to get into BIOS is to swap out the Radeon card completely. I disable "Fast boot" and specified to use only external graphic card through BIOS, but the Radeon still boot through a totally white screen. I did not expect this type of hardship with a ThinkStation.

I also understand the supply delay and the fact that it took several months to ship the product to us. However, it would have been nice to know that you are now using Display Port as a default so I didn't make TWO trips to my local supply store looking for adapters from VGA or HDMI that don't EXIST!!!! I had to order a new cable that goes from HDMI to Display Port and I still don't have my new tower up and running. Critical info for people who don't live and breath the latest and greatest new display cables and ports.

Cannot add hard drives without purchasing an additional part, which is out of stock (I could only order by calling an agent, website does not work. Then I get an email saying the shipping is delayed). And I discovered this only through the forums - calling tech support is useless, they are not knowledgible about the product. Also, not enough USB ports - Dell is so much better equipped. Because of these issues, I have still not been able to use it, awaiting the additional part for adding hard drives

The P340 seems to work as promised, but the fan runs all too frequently (and it's not quite), while previous Lenovo desktop PCs I've had had didn't. Also, you'd think for a couple of grand, ALL the USB slots would be high speed, not just 2.

It comes with two M.2 solid-state drive slots but only one M.2 solid-state drive bracket. I have ordered the extra bracket but it is backordered and the ETA keeps getting pushed back. I have been waiting almost two months and no bracket in site. The other issue is the Thunderbolt card. Tech support recommended that I get the Lenovo part # 4XH0Y77510 but it is incompatible with the P340 ThinkStation. I called tech support, sales and even their parts department and no one had any idea of what I was talking about. They are now giving me the runaround to return the incompatible Thunderbolt card. So for know, no Thunderbolt port and no second M.2 drive and waiting to see if they will refund me the money for the card.

I've been getting updates every few days and had to install some driver updates manually a few times, but nothing terrible. It is louder than I thought it would be when it spools up or uses much of the processing power, but it is getting everything done that I need and wanted it to so far.

When I unpackaged everything and hooked it up it had someone else's profile so basically it was refurbished and I was under the impression it was new. I had to pay a technician to help me remove The previous persons profile and data.. after I already spent $1,800 on the tower.

It is quiet with computing power to spare, running much faster than the I7 machine that it is replacing. There was some difficulty getting the order due mainly to misunderstanding on my part. Once straightened out, everything went smoothly with my data transferred, and fully running within a day.

SPECIFICATION CPU: Intel I9 10900K GPU: Quadro RTX 5000 RAM: 16 GB * 2 SSD: 1TB Boot Drive HDD: 2TB 7200RPM WIFI + Bluetooth The machine is quite small for a prebuilt workstation which was very appealing to my needs. Despite its size, the machine is more than capable of maintaining stable temperatures under continuous load while still managing noise adequately. Speaking of noise, while the machine is under light load or idle it is extremely quiet for an air cooled system. This will be greatly appreciated for those with their computers on their desks next to them. So thermals and noise are very good for an air cooled system of this size. The system in this specification is very nice as far as USB is concerned with 4 in the back and 4 in the front with a USB C port in the front as well. I happen to be one of those people who actually needs each and very one of these on a regular basis so the feature is greatly appreciated. As far as more ports are concerned, one should refer to their own specification as this is very quick to change with a few different selections. Now for performance. I primarily use this machine with Autodesk and Adobe products. During most workloads, I use a dual monitor setup with twin 1080p monitors at 60hz. The 5000 runs this with no problem (of course. Alternatively, I use this machine with an Oculus Rift S and it does not have any issues in REVIT or Boneworks. Given the latter, yes, I do occasionally use it for light gaming and it performs just fine. Back to workstation use. I spec'd this machine to be future proof for my needs so it is no surprise that it handles the loads I throw at it with ease. However, I cannot overstate just how much it dominates what I throw at it. In short, I am immensely impressed with this machine. It is relatively small, quiet and cool. It crushes anything that I need it for and I cannot recommend it enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from P340 is decent computer for high school kid I bought this computer for my son, who is going to high scholl in the fall. The goal is to have machine which will serve him for 4 years while allowing some upgrades in the process. For my personal use I have Lenovo P53 laptop, which I am very happy with. I decided to choose Lenovo brand after seeing unreasonably high prices for Dell or HP workstation class computers and poor experience with cheaper Dell laptops at work. P340 is solidly built and having 3 years warranty is expected to work through the planned lifespan. I already had a solid state drive and additional memory, thus I didn'tt need these components purchased as part of Lenovo. Though everyone who wants to work comfortably will have to add SSD and more memory. But that will require custom configuration on Lenovo site and long wait for delivery. One problem I found is that M.2 slots in P340 only support NVME mudules, buy one I had was SATA type. As a result I had to purchase additional PCIe carrier card (which occupied free x1 slot) and wait few additional days for delivery. Another quirk is that P340 only has DP video interfaces. Thus if your monitor only supports HDMI or DVI, you will need a conversion cable. It would be nice if one was included by Lenovo. Luckily local BestBuy had one on sale (usually their price is 2-3 time higher than from on-line retailers). For my purpose I installed Ubuntu instead of Windows. Lenovo says that this machine is certified to run Linux. The only problem was that I had to change setting for default monitor mode in UEFI BIOS from "Auto" to "PCIe card". Otherwise Linux was starting using integrated video instead. But everything else was smooth. It would be nice if Lenovo supplied Ubuntu pre-installed, just like they do with Windows and allow to make a choice of OS to acvtivate at first boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unable to Use It After waiting several weeks for the tower to arrive I had finally received it, but it wasn't functional. The Lenovo monitor is not receiving any signal. Could be due to the non functioning rear fan or some other underlying issue. Atop of that, I have to wait who knows how long for the backordered fan. I'll update my review once I finally have the issue resolved but thus far the whole experience with Lenovo has been a bit frustrating. I use a Lenovo workstation at work and I'm happy with how good adobe apps work on it. I was looking forward to starting my own personal projects from home.

I primarily used my laptop for 3D design and coding, but it was an older gen with a fraction of the RAM as this one. Waiting for Visual Studio or Fusion 360 to open? No longer. Slow rendering times? Goodbye. I’m delighted with this PC and how it helps tackle my workload.

I've been buying Levovo computers for many years and have always been please with the quality and performance I received. I wasn't disappointed this time. Out of the box it was slow on spreadsheets but with 8mb RAM I had been aware it might be when I purchased it. I immediately upgraded it to 64mb DDR4-3200 and now I couldn't be happier.
