I was worried
I was worried about the new Otterbox case after all the reviews I read. It is obvious now that it's been applied that it must be user error because I absolutely love this cover it is extremely sensitive and attractive. Make sure you read directions and YouTube application prior to installation.

I've always have an otter box glass sheild on my phones. Can't go wrong with them but unfortunately with this one when you pair it with a cover, it does diminish the screen sensitivity. But I won't do one without the other so I am dealing with it. I have the symmetry cover and it does get better. Also I found for the top down menu, start from the middle of the screen instead of the very top and it works just fine.

Worst screen protector ever
Its not working, had to throw it in the trash. The touchscreen didn't respond at all when I tried to use it after I put the screen protector correctly using the instructions.

Standard for protecting my investment!
Samsung didn't make it very easy to protect their phones with the curved edges. However, the Alpha Glass screen protector Wil insure that my screen is well protected. The downside is less sensitivity with the keys in certain instances. Overall, the Alpha Glass along with the Defender case will remain my go to protection no matter what phone.

Not what it's cracked up to be...
The Alpha glass looks awesome but can trap air and reduce screen responsiveness. It also does not fit the Defender case as advertised and cracked on the edge. However, the Defender case is still the best! OtterBox was of course awesome and promptly refunded my money for the Alpha glass.

I have had 5 otter cases and all are brilliant, but the alpha glass is of no use as once i put it on to my samsung s8 the screen became so unresponsive to my swipe that after a day using it i took it off and threw it away..

Alpha Glass not so alpha
I want to start by saying I'm using the screen protector with the commuter case, I followed the Instructions for putting it on and I'm still having problems on the curved edges of the screen and also at the top of the screen. While I'm writing this review I'm having to press hard on the screen to even type. If you call it "Alpha" it should be better, especially with a $45 price tag.

Unacceptable lack of touch sensitivity
Bought it last week and am looking to return it already. Doesn't stick properly and there's a tiny gap between screen and glass which makes it too difficult to manage and control touch screen. Good in theory but unless I got a poor example it's not ready yet.

Cracks too easy
Had one on my S6, it lasted over 2yrs no issues. I have now gone through TWO of these protectors - one cracked in my pocket while i was walking around, the other cracked when it fell on carpet a week after applying it. Definitely not going back for a 3rd...

Not real happy!
When I received my S8 I bought a protective cover at the retailer. I have to say it was much worse than the Otter Box cover. I had the retailer install the cover, but within two days it started to come loose from the phone.
I knew Otter Box was known for quality, so I got onto their website and ordered a protective glass cover to replace to original one I had bought. When I received it I followed the instructions to install the new one. Everything seemed to be fine for about the week, then it began to lift in the middle of the phone. I pushed it back down, but it continues to lift.

Wouldn't purchase
I was excited to get a screen protector for my new phone, Galaxy S8. Unfortunately, it really is a bother when it comes to touching the screen. Since this phone is a touch screen, it's a bother. It's almost as if it is bending, but I have tyo press hard to select anything. Kind of a hassle.

Excellent purchase
I bought this screen protector about a week after buying my galaxy 8s, I am very happy with the protection provided. The product is easy to apply. One note that should be made is that it does affect the touch sensitivity and for the phone to work best after application the screen touch sensitivity should be on the highest setting to help ensure response by the phone. I have used the screen protect with both the Otter box defender case and symmetry and it has remained in place without issue.

The glass pops loose every other day and when it does you need to take the case off and press the edges again to get it tight. When it's popped loose you have to press the screen hard to get anything to register for $40 dollars I would expect a little better of a product. A co-worker of mine has the same issue and threw his away already.

I bought this screen protector with a commuter case in advance of my new s8. With device in place phone was almost useless as the s8 has a home button built into the screen and the protector did not allow response without unnessacary force.

Not worth the money
I bought my glass protector on 4/19/17 and it had already broke from the right corner. Since it was put on from the Sprint store agent I have had a hard time with the screen seams like I am pressing on my phone very hard to get it to do something. Not happy love the case, but they should have made the case like the old ones that already come with a screen protector.

Poor Design
I ordered this screen protector and a Symmetry case as soon as they became available. I received them on the same day as my Galaxy S8. Minutes after installation, the screen protector popped off - twice. As with other curved products on the market, adhesive is only used along the edges of the glass. In addition to being unsightly, this is not adequate for a proper hold. This also makes the screen unresponsive. I returned it on day one. I expected more from Otterbox.

No what I expected from otterbox
So I have the galaxy s8, with the curved edges it's been hard to find a good screen protector, a friend recommended otterbox alfa glass, luckily I reward points to help purchase the alfa glass bc I must say, it's quite expensive. Anyway, I got it and was happy to see it was edge to edge coverage and it had more adhesive than the other brands I had tried. After installing the alfa glass I tried to put my case on, it popped the glass up, so I took the case off and let it adhere down for 24 hours. I tried putting my class back on, still didn't work with it, so I tried another case I had, still wouldn't work. So I said "ok, a screen protector is better than a case" so I kept my case off, screen looked beautiful with the edge to edge coverage and it seemed like it was going to be the one that actually worked well enough for the 8 series, well Within 3 days of having the alfa glass it somehow cracked in two places, I'm very careful with my phone and nothing I did should have caused it to crack.

Alpha Glass Protector
I bought the defender case and was disappointed that Otter box took away the built in screen protector so I bought the alpha glass screen protector. With the cost of the defender case and the alpha glass it was a bit steep. I have yet to drop my phone or anything in order to see how well the glass actually protects but it is thicker than the previous model so I feel confident it will protect very well. My only issue is because of the thickness it takes away from the sensitivity of the screen and you have to press much harder on the screen for it to work.

It doesn't perfectly fit the phone: the ends stick out just enough that the cover pops off immediately if you try to put the phone in the leather strada case. It doesn't stick well to begin with and pops off easily even without putting it in a case. And the most annoying thing by far is that it interferes with touch screen functionality. I had tried writing this with it on, and I had to push the same letter multiple times to get it to register. I have been using Otterbox products for years, this is the first time I have had an issue with anything... of course this is also the first time I've had to pay $40 for a screen cover (that is made of rigid glass instead of a plastic product that sticks to the screen. It has been less than 24hrs Ive been trying to use this product. I will be calling to return it and get a refund.

I agree with other reviews that this does make the touch screen a little harder to use, especially the edges of the S8 but life happens (a lot in my case. I much prefer having to retouch a "button" or tap a little harder to the giant crack or scratches that would inevitably happen to the screen.
I disagree that this doesn't work well with the other cases. I bought a Symmetry series case as well and had no problem getting them to work together. I guess putting the Alpha Glass on before the back case helped.
Putting the glass on wasn't difficult just precise. Go slow and fallow the directions and you should be fine.

Terrible product
Bought this product through the Verizon store and had it installed there. However, the glass only works when the phone is out of the case. When placed in the case, the case basically lifts the glass up, which doesn't allow the use of the corners without pressing extremely hard. Would not recommend this product to anyone, and I'll be returning mine for a refund.

I purchased this screen protector just before vacation. I wanted a durable protector since I would be doing a lot of outdoor activities. Once I got the protector I put it on right away, did what the instructions said and put my otterbox case on. The screen was not sensitive in some parts. I pressed to down after taking the case off and the "protector" cracked all the way down my screen . I was told after contacting Otterbox is to not put your otterbox case on right after application of the protector and wait until morning that way it adheres correctly to the phone. It would have been nice to know that beforehand. They did however offer to send a replacement for the broken one but I was running out of time so I am unsure if that trick works or not.

Not Otterbox best effort
I have protected all of my Samsung Galaxy series phones since the S3 with Otterbox Defender Cases. Working construction, they have been invaluable to my daily routine giving me piece of mind that these very expensive phones are well protected. I have never had one complaint about Otterbox products until now.
The first is the S8 case no longer comes with the integrated screen protection as many of its Defender series predecessors. I don't want screen protection, I NEED screen protection. This was why the Defender series was unequalled to its rivals, it gave 100% assurance against the elements. I purchased the case with the knowledge that there was no screen and purchased the Alpha Glass.
The glass is supposed to mesh flawlessly with the S8 case but leaves much to be desired. While I have no sensitivity issue that others have had I do have issues with the glass popping off of the screen if not precisely aligned. Another annoyance is the constant clicking between the Alpha Glass and the Phone screen. The Alpha Glass also distorts the rubber at the bottom ports. Why Otterbox chose to eliminate the screen is beyond imagination. If a better design from a competitor comes along I will take my loyalty elsewhere for this downgrade from the Defender Line.

Bring back the integrated touchscreen!
This is my third or 4th Defender. I have never had a broken phone wile using this product. Nor have I ever had any problems using my phone. However, this Defender has left me very disappointed. I do not like that this version of the Defender does not have the screen protector built in to the cover. I am not too happy that I had to pay $50 for the extra screen protector. Once I put it on, I have two problems. The first is that it doesn't fit flush with the case, and the second is that I am having great difficulty typing and texting with it on. I know that part of the problem is the curved screen, but I have come to expect a better product from Otterbox.
I really hope that Otterbox will soon release an integrated cover for the Samsung 8, and make the price affordable.

Trim lines and great to use in the pocket. All buttons work as they should. Great fit to the phone and easy to remove and re-fit.
Slight ridge at the top and bottom of the cover lifts the glass off the surface for face down meetings and provides a slip free grip
Alpha glass fits fantastic and real easy to install.
All ports are accessible without removing the cover. Including the ear point for using square attachment.
Ports for camera and finger print are fantastic and easy to get to.
CON:
Plastic "alpha glass" makes the touch unresponsive on the edges, top swipe and side swipe mostly requires a heavy touch. Side letters "a & l" and numbers "1 & 0" mostly need to be pressed harder.
Bright colours are missed in the lineup and drab pascals are the only choice. Lime greens, vivid pinks and vibrant blues no where to be seen...

On the package there is a picture of a metal ball coming at speed towards the glass which would suggest it is strong and durable enough to with stand this impact. Yet after I applied my glass screen protector and tried to put On my silicone phone case it shattered into pieces.

I purchased this today to go on my brand new S8 and had to take it off within 20 minutes. The touch sensitivity was awful. I had to press ridiculously hard to text. I would never recommend this to anyone. I hope I just got a bad screen because I'm a big letterbox fan, but this product is horrible.

To small!!!!!!!
It's a good protector but it's to small and i almost have to punch my phone to open and app or type. It's hard to drag down windows and pull the quick screen over. My fingers catch the sides of the protector. I had this protector on for 12 hrs and through my phone a side 6 times I got so frustrated with it. I so want to take it back to at&t to give it back. I hate it on my phone. So needs to fit the screen and thinner so I don't have to punch the apps to open.
I did buy a case for it and love it. That's a 5 in rate.

Waiting!!!
I bought this when I purchased my Samsung S8 phone. I took it took CSpire to install it as I was afraid I wouldn't line it up right with the curved screen. Unfortunately they didn't do any better and the left half of the screen didn't work. I took it back and they attempted to remove it an move it over. It cracked. I am waiting for them to get more experience installing the screen before I have them install the new one. So I haven't really used the product in a usable fashion yet.

Alpha Glass
I paid a ton for alpha glass to hope it would be a better alternative to plastics and scratching. The glass broke while snapping otter box case together. I tried another for 1/2 the price and it broke on first day in rear pocket. I had a motorola droid maxx with otterbox case for 5 years never broke a screen. The s8 is never gonna be a highly reliable phone. Bad combination. Think otterbox is trying to protect a losing battle. :-(

Not as much protection as previous models
I have had the Alpha Glass for the Samsung S8 for less than a month and I am already awaiting my replacement as it shattered with one drop from a height of no more than 3 feet. It doesn't appear my phone's screen is shattered (I havent removed the broken alpha glass as I don't want to be completely unprotected while waiting for the replacement to arrive which is a plus of the product but my previous otterbox cases protected my phone without sustaining any damage to the case which is what I look for in a product. I don't want to replace the glass every time the phone drops, as I am clumsy and I have two kids who use my phone..

Made it impossible to use phone.
I had to stop using the OtterBox Alpha Glass Screen Protector, so if I could give it zero stars, I would. It made it impossible to use the phone. I had to use so much force to try and actually type or select links, and this led to either not being able to select the correct link, or to not being able to type anything at all. I think the curved glass of the S8 exacerbated this, but for whatever reason, using it inside the OtterBox Defender made the phone completely unusable. I eventually just took it off and considered it a $45 lesson in reading reviews. I love OtterBox, I've bought three of them to protect previous phones and I am still using the Defender to protect the exterior of the phone, but the Alpha Glass was a huge, expensive disappointment.

Had to push too hard on some buttons(mainly on bottom and curved edges)just to work. Too much of a struggle to keep and use on an everyday basis. Not cool if it don't fit
I bought 3 pieces for our Samsung 8 as well as our 8 plus. Neither of the cases fit with the screen attached. In purchasing I was leary of the 3rd piece for the screen protector as it's not integrated anymore into the case itself.
I read and followed directions, had another person verify I am not losing my mind and neither fit. Now I am trying to return them which can take up to 48 hours for a response. Not convenient or a happy experience at all and a lot of wasting my time.

I did exactly what the instructions said to do and watch the video on YouTube. This is my second Alpha Glass to try. Lost about 90% of the touch sensibility especially on the edges. You can hear clicking if it didn't stick. The idea is there but the final product Is terrible.

Ok, but decreases screen responsiveness
Pro: The glass is made well and it covers the screen completely so as far as protection it is great!
Con: trying to text or type out an email is a nightmare. I am having to push buttons multiple times or hold my finger on a letter just to get it to respond. This part is very frustrating!!!

I had the alpha glass on my s8 for 2 weeks it slowly came unglued but from the begining i had to push extreamly hard to get a response from the screen even with the sensitivity all the way up. Was very sad after paying so much. What can I do.

I had alphaglass for my iPhone before and loved it it protected my phone against so many cracks and scratches but the one for the S8 is not good at all. The reactivity of the screen through the protector is terrible. It is so hard to type. The adhesive is not good either. The shape is the only good thing about it, it covers all edges. I have removed the glass screen as it is a nuisance. I wish I had have listened to the reviews instead of giving Otterbox the benefit of the doubt. I have sent a complaint also with no reply.

Retraction of "eh" review! Worked Great
I have to apologize for a previous review of the Alpha Glass Protector. I thought when my phone was hit, it cracked the phone screen. After looking closer It actually cracked the Alpha Screen Protector - NOT the phone screen!!!! The protector did it's job!

Bought this and used it for 2 days. It was so hard to press the buttons, I really thought that I was gonna hurt my screen. It was terrible. I couldn't text normally at all. So I took it off and called otter box. I sent it back and got refunded. The only good thing about it was that the customer service was great.

Purchased this prior to getting my new phone. Once I received the phone I followed the directions to a T and it cracked while applying it to the phone. I called customer service and they are sending a replacement. Hoping it does better than. The 1st. SMH

Covers front of phone nicely but have to press hard on screen to make things work and even then I have to press over and over Exspecially on the edges. Paid a lot for it so will keep using until it drives me crazy.

Horrible in every way
So, the first one of these cracked when I applied it. Otterbox warrantied it. Customer service is the only good part. I received the second one and it applied easily. However, it makes the screen almost unresponsive. Forget about touching anything around the edges of the screen. And when I try, I need to press so hard it feels like I'm going to shatter the screen! Also, face recognition doesn't work well/at all with this protector on. I tore it off and trashed it. Complete waste of money and time.

Cover ok glass terrible
Brought s8 defender case and glass. Cover is ok. Glass was terrible. Broke one glass putting the cover on. Both first and second glass didn't fit well on the sides and kept lifting off. Both glass protectors in the bin now

Glass dies bit fit with the case .
I have purchased 3 defender cases over the past years. I purchased one for the new s8 I was told when I purchased it it came with screen protection. When I received it did not have any screen protection. I then purchased a alpha glass screen protector that doesn't fit with the case and it cracked when trying to apply.

First off not happy I had to pay an extra $44 for the screen protector of an OtterBox Defender case series. The screen protector was not hard to apply but now the quality of the screen and the touch sensitivity have diminished greatly typing is almost impossible because you have to keep going back because of missed letters you have to press so hard sometimes it's not funny especially at the edges of the screen. I have been using OtterBoxes since I had the iPhone 3GS and all through the Samsung phones what a letdown. Oh and let's not forget the fingerprints and the smearing every time you touch the phone.

Doesn't "stick"
I had to get a second right away as the first one, installed on my new Galaxy S8 in the store, fell off when I got home. Just popped off in my lap. I then called Otterbox directly and told me what had happened and they did send me a new one.
I installed the new one but the fidelity of the touch is poor along the edges of the S8. This, I believe, is a combination of the S8 putting lots of functionaly near the edges of the phone and the Otterbox glass cover must be just a bit thicker along the curved edge. Bottom line, I am hugely frustrated at the touch capabilities of my phone. I can tap buttons 20 times along the edges or at the top and nothing happens.
I wasted 20$ or whatever it was on this purchase. Beware!!

The first otter box product I don't like
Not a fan!! I've owned an otter box defender case for every galaxy phone I have owned. The screen protection with the case always worked great. I was a little disappointed to have to order it separately now, but thought I was getting a good product. I installed it on my s8 as per the instruction and then installed my case. I tried swiping to unlock my phone and noticed i had to apply much more pressure than before. Sending a text became a chore that felt more like using an old type writter, mashing stuck keys. When trying to click on anything, I have to attempt it repeatedly until it finally takes the input. Needless to say I am very disappointed in this product. The defender series case is great but the screen protection is annoying cumbersome.

Seriously disappointed in this product!
Bought two sets one for my husband's phone and one for mine. Within 15 minutes of installation noticed delayed response when using my phone. Got so frustrated that I could type to send text or anything. I decided to return the same night I installed. By day two my husband was totally over it. We've used alpha glass before but seriously disappointed with the quality of this product.

Touch Screen dont work well
I just purchased the alpha glass to cover my S8 and we've had issues with being able to use the touchscreen you have to push really really hard to be able to type messages, scroll on the screen, etc. and it takes forever to type a text message because the connectivity is poor between screen and glass. Shouldnt have spent 45.00 on junk. Have always loved otterbox, but am now disappointed.

Doesn't fit properly with Commuter case
I got my phone a week ago, along with an accessory package consisting of the Otterbox Commuter case and the Alpha Glass screen protector. I loved the idea of having a rigid screen protector, since the case has to be recessed on the edges to accommodate the screen curvature. Unfortunately, I cannot get the screen protector and case to work together for any extended period of time--inevitably, either the case or the screen protector shifts in a way that causes the screen protector to lift off the screen, severely impairing the touch sensitivity. It works great without the case, but that's not helpful since I'm more concerned about having the case than the screen protector.
When I installed the Alpha Glass, I carefully cleaned the screen, lined up the protector and thoroughly pressed it down, as instructed, before inserting it into the Commuter case. I promptly started encountering the same problems described in many reviews: the screen would not register touch easily, especially pulling down the top menu, and there was a popping sound as the Alpha Glass popped away from the screen as soon as pressure was released. I realized that the top edge of the screen protector was not underneath the rubber case, pushing the protector away from the screen, so I removed the case to re-adjust. With the case off, the screen protector works beautifully. I put the case on, even more carefully, to make sure that all sides of the rubber overlapped the screen protector--this is difficult to do, because sliding it into the hard shell tends to make some parts of the rubber case shift off of the screen protector. Once I managed it, the screen worked great...until I carried it in my pocket for a little while and the same problems returned. I removed and carefully reinstalled the case--again it worked great, until a few hours in my pocket caused the case and/or Alpha Glass to shift. Rinse and repeat all week.
After all the fiddling around and repeatedly removing/replacing the case, bits of dust migrated underneath the screen protector. I completely removed the screen protector, cleaned it again with a microfiber cloth, and replaced both screen protector and case. Still having the same problem.

This was my first purchase from OtterBox. I was told OtterBox made really good products and so I made this purchase. The screen protector did not allow for the use of the slim case for my Samsung Galaxy s8 and it did not adhere properly. I followed the directions precisely and it didn't still didn't adhere. It cracked shortly after without the phone even being dropped.

I would not purchase this product. Performs no better than a 9$ tempered glass. I had perfect alignment and initially worked well. Within a day product was coming loose killing sensitivity. Kept having to really press down to get my phone to register. Will be requesting a refund because this is definitely not worth the 45$ spent. Also a poor fit in defender case.

I have had this alpha glass for the Samsung s8 for about 2 weeks now and it seems to not have been tested enough because the glass is constantly popping out and on top of the case and I am using am otterbox defender case. It seems as though it could have been more properly fitted top this case.

Severly degrades touch sensivity
Bought for a new Galaxy S-8. Pretreated all surfaces of phone with Gadget Guard Black Ice nanotechnology that had no impact on screen sensitivity. Cover was absolutely positioned correctly, aligning perfectly with top speaker slot and the edges of the recommended Otter Symetry cover (same small gap all the way around. While swipe inputs were acceptable, button presses were severely degraded, requiring a much stronger push and with a very significant time delay. Was so frustrating to use for text input that I removed it after less than a day.

I purchased the Alpha Glass screen protector for my Samsung s8 a few days ago from Sprint when I purchased my phone and I'm truly disappointed. Trying to do anything using the touch screen takes multiple attempts and it constantly accesses the wrong app or inputs inaccurate info. The edges have began lifting so now I'm looking for a new screen protector. Otter box usually has exceptional products, however they dropped the ball with this one.....

Bought this and it took all sensitivity from my screen, making me have to press hard on the screen to type so requested a warranty and when I received my second, it was pretty much the same, a bit better but not much. I still have to press harder onto the screen and makes it kind of difficult to type.

Case good, glass rubbish
The back case is great. It fits well and protects my phone wit hout feeling to big or bulky. The Alpha glass on the other hand is terrible. Although it looks like it fits, it's not as snug as it should be and so effects the touch sensitivity on the phone to t he point that it won't function. I was then having to take the glass off when playing games or using certain apps and the one time i did this it fell out of my hand and onto the floor and cracked in 6 different places. I got a replacement free of charge but have not bothered to pit it back onto my phone as its just rubbish. A waste of money in my opinion

Great Case, Polar opposite screen protector.
This screen protector for this phone I will not buy again. I had it installed at T-Mobile the same day I received the phone and the amount of pressure I had to apply for my touch to even register was ridiculous. I could not access my pull-down notifications of the edge menu at all. Instantly took it off and threw it away.
I preordered the phone, and instantly ordered a commuter case along with the glass screen protector since it worked miracles for my GS6 suffering the amount of drops it had. Case for the S8 has already proved it worth and lived up to the brand. The protector on the other hand failed horribly.

Almost perfect
I love the fact that it's almost exactly like my phone screen. Also that it gives my phone the extra little bit of protection, specially around my children. The only thing it's missing is that it never stuck to my phone properly in the first place so I have to push extremely hard for anything on the right side of my phone.

instructions said may have a second protective film that needs to be peeled after glad is in place. The instructions should have been clear. When trying to remove a second protective film the glass cracked. Only later did i learn there wasn't a second film.

My first one sealed well and light button touch good. But cracked. Second replacement just would not seal and I had to push to hard to use. Feel money gone but don't want to ask for another to try. Probably works well for most. I do LOVE all my otter boxes and will remain a loyal customer.

Recently bought one of these, once installed I noticed straight away that the sensitivity of the touch screen became nearly in usable an I have to force the screen to text or open apps all over not just in one spot, and today I've noticed a crack in the very centre of the screen, just not happy with this product

Okay. Well, the very first alpha glass that I got was cracked when I got it. Otterbox was nice enough to ship me two more and free express shipping for that incident. Now, the protector itself. I don't like it. I'm going to try to get a refund. I have to apply too much pressure to the screen. Especially along the edges. Adhesive doesn't last at all. Staying on the phone is impossible for it. Going to try to get a refund and move on with no screen protector.

Relatively easy to install
I'm someone who has never been good at putting screen protectors on phones but this one is about the easiest I've found. It's very rigid so so it's much easier to install than the flimsy ones. It did however take me several times to get it on without finding some speck of dust on there but now it's on and I can barely tell it's there

Good investment
The otter box and screen protector is a good investment. I did not look forward to spending the 109.85 for the otter box and screen protection; however experience told me that it was indeed a good investment for my phone. When I took my 3 year old phone out of my previous otter box to turn the phone in for a new one, I then realized what a good investment it truly is. The 3 year phone looked brand new!

I purchased this Alpha Glass directly from Otter box to protect my Galaxy S8, along with locally purchased Defender Case. I removed the Defender case from my phone and installed the tempered glass as per instructions and online videos. After a few minutes, I installed the defender case and attempted to use the my phone. The Alpha Glass and defender case looked awesome, but that's about it. That's when my heart fell and I was terribly disappointed. The touch sensitivity to the phone screen was gone. I had to tap pretty hard just to get the "home button" to work. Swiping my finger to get the phone to react was non-reactive most of the time. I had my wife try to use the phone to ensure it just wasn't me. No luck. The next morning I called OtterBox customer service, and they processed a return for me. The Customer Service team was AWESOME! For $44.95 plus shipping, I was expecting top quality. This design needs to go back to the drawing boards, and the price needs to come down.

Unlike the Alpha Glass I bought for my S6, this one is not good. Phones without the curved edge screen can have the alpha glass seal on the entire surface of the screen. For the S8, the glass protector is not completely sealed onto the phone screen. This leaves gaps and areas where the cover will make a clicking noise as the adhesive re-adheres and then peels back up.
There's also an incredible loss of touch sensitivity (probably because of the gaps explained above. The right hand side of the keyboard while texting is almost unusable. Text messages now take 3-4 times longer than they used to on my S6. Incredibly frustrating. Not worth the $40 I spent

I purchased the Alpha Glass with the Otter Box Defender for my S8. Initially installed at the Verizon store, the bottom half of the screen was not touch responsive. I re-positioned it, and then the top half was not touch responsive. The third time was a charm, and this product is absolutely awesome! I have used Otter Box Defenders for my last three phones, and cannot recommend it highly enough. Minor problems have been handled immediately by OB's excellent customer service.

Cracked on it's own in 2 days
Bought this for my S8 and had a hard time making it fit with the defender case. Without dropping my phone it has already cracked in 2 different places. Pretty disappointing being that the screen cover was $50 alone and the defender case was another $50. Wish they would make the cases with the screen protector built in. On the plus side, otter box is sending me a new one for $6 shipping.

I have purchased other Otterbox products in the past and had great success with them. This one I find takes away almost all the touch sensitivity of the screen. This could be because of the curved sides. I will try this product for a while longer, and if it doesn't improve I will be looking for an alternative.

It got fine until I put the otter box on, otter box would not fit easy had really push to get it to snap together. That caused auto glass to pop up and only way to get screen to work on touch was push really hard. Sent back for refund and pitched another screen protector. Waiting for refund, customer service was very nice.

S8 alpha glass with defender case
Glass does not work well with the defender case. The case will work it's way under the edge of the glass and lift it slightly and then the edges of the phone do not work properly. I have reset the glass several times just as I was told to do by otterbox, it works for a day or 2 but eventually the 2 edges find each other again and the edges of the phone stop working properly.

I purchased The S8 alpha glass, S8 commuter slipcover and outer plastic. Like many other reviews here, the alpha glass does not fit correctly by itself and makes the phone totally unusable. The site says about same sensitivity with the glass on, and I admit in the middle of the phone with only the glass on, it does work well. But, the S8 is an edge phone - with just the glass on it takes 3-4 hard pressed swipes to get the side menus; with the glass and case, side swiping is simply not possible. the case pushes the glass off contact with the screen no matter how carefully I assemble it. The case by itself works just fine - the glass by itself work, but not like it should - the two simply cannot coexist.

No GOOD!! I bought the OutterBox case and Outterbox glass for my S8 phone 2 days ago...the Outterbox glass is horrible!!! The sensitivity is the worst ever! Its hard to text...hard to slide down your notifications! It makes a horrible sound when trying to use your phone! This is ridiculous! I had to take off the glass to properly use my phone! I need a refund! Its hard to enjoy your new device knowing it is not fully protected!!!!!

Eh. Not sensitive to the touch.
Purchased this online through Otterbox. Installed it on my phone with little difficulty. Was happy to see how well it fit with the defender series case. But I'm not happy with the touch sensitivity. I have to press really hard in order for the phone to recognize what I'm trying to do. Texting is really difficult. I'm sure this helps protect the phone but I want protection along with function and unfortunately this doesn't deliver.

The product needs some tweaking. I couldn't really move around my phone. It was very clear though. But if I can't touch the screen and move around my phone easily. It really defeats the purpose.

I have used Otter Box Defenders for all of my cell phones and for my wife's phones. They absolutely work.....but the Defender for the Galaxie S8 does not come with screen protection because of the curved screen on the phone. So for another $45 (very expensive for something that breaks so easily I purchased the Alpha Glass, assuming that it would be a quality product. So far, that does not seem to be the case. I installed the Alpha Glass according to the instructions. The first thing I noticed is that it doesn't seem to fit quite right, even though it was aligned exactly as directed. When I installed the Defender case, the Alpha Glass cracked in the upper right corner. To their credit, Otter's customer service was outstanding and another Alpha Glass is on the way at no charge. I give customer service 5 stars. Having said that, I am not convinced that this very expensive phone is going to be as well protected by this very expensive and fragile screen protector. I think that Otter should come up with a case that completely protects the S 8 (like the prior Galaxie models) because the Alpha Glass doesn't seem like it is going to work for this model phone. Time will tell.

I had the glass on for two days and it cracked in bottom right corner. I was disappointed that I broke so soon after putting in especially after spending $45.00 dollars which does not include the actual Otterbox case. Then when trying to text, the buttons on the right side did not work unless I pressed hard. After a few hours I pulled the phone out of my pocket and the glass was completely cracked on the right side as well and spread across the whole screen. I was under the assumption that Otterbox was the best just to find out that I will have to buy another screen for $45.00. Unfortunately for Otterbox that will not happen. I am a highly disappointed customer. I expected it to last more than two weeks.

This screen protector is poorly designed
Have had this less then a week and have had issues with using the touch screen. Can't access things without having to make multiple attempts. Furthermore after less then a week its already cracked. Best part it wasn't dropped, or impacted. I have an otter box defender case on my S8 and had the holster covering the screen. I went to check a message and it was cracked on the edge. How I don't know, phone was clipped inside my pocket. For $50+ I expected much more.

Its ok but....
I bought both alpha screen and defender case.The case is fine,but the screen is a ptoblem,bacause i have to press really hard go get it to working.but i think it is either caused by the thickness of the screen potector or s8's screen sensitivity is low. Once i got used to it it did not nother me.

I had high hopes for this protector. Unfortunately it makes the edges and particularly the corners of my S8 virtually unusable, even with the screen sensitivity at maximum. It doesn't work with the otterbox case I also purchased, but does fit with a cheaper simple case I already have. I sincerely wish I'd bought a much cheaper protector.

Purchased along with a Defender case for my new Galaxy S8. Without the Defender, its fine - with the Defender, problems arise in the form of insensitivity. The primary issue is that the case pushes on the edges of the glass, causing it to no longer be in contact with the screen of the phone. If the glass were a mm smaller all the way around, even 1/2 mm, it would probably work just fine.

The screen fit perfect to size. Only getting 2 stars because after installing screen protector all corners of the screen are sometimes unresponsive and have to be pressed multiple times before it pick up the touch.

Alpha Glass Screen Protector with Defender Case
By itself, the Galaxy S8 Alpha Glass Screen Protector is very good. However, it does not pair well with the S8 Defender case. It took 3 tries to get the screen and case to fit "right". But, it appears that the very tight fit seems to lift the protector up a fraction, especially around the edges, resulting in reduced sensitivity compared to not installing the case.
In order to get the protector and case to eventually work together, I positioned the protector in place without pushing down to adhere. Then, I installed the case, thus allowing a small amount of freedom during installation.
Basically, the protector is very good on it's own but not so good with the Defender case.

The defender case using the alpha glass was a poorly thought out design for Galaxy S8. It's my phone completely protected? Yes, but the alpha glass takes away the screens sensitivity and the use of the edges along with the top and bottom slides of the screen! Only way any of it even remotely works has been to adjust the covers layout on the phone itself every once and a awhile....not satisfied with design at all, miss the standard defender case over my screens...

The Alpha Glass wraps around edges of The Samsung Galaxy S8 and with the Defender case it was extremely difficult to pull up the apps edge menu on the phone.

This "Glass" fell off within 2 days of me applying it. It also took away the responsiveness of the screen and made it more difficult to use. It did work well with the phone case though to hide the edge, but without it I would be worried about pulling it off

Alpha Glass: Over priced and over rated.
I bought the Other Box Defender Series(black and orange) along with the Alpha Glass. Mind you that was over a $100.00 purchase. Weather it is fault of the case or glass being fragile my Alpha Glass is now cracked. Worst two things I ever I mean ever bought from Otter Box Company. I use to swear by Otter Box but I will not after this.

Good protection as far as covering the entirety of the screen BUT the bottom half was not at all sensitive to the touch. I would have to press the "Home" button multiple times to get it to respond and not case friendly at all, popped off after a few days. Would not recommend!!!!

Compatibility problem
The glass protector was working fine until I got my auxiliary battery case, not from Otter. The case popped off the protector and I could not find a way to make them co-exist. (Not really an Otter problem exactly. I messaged Otter customer service about suggestions and got no reply. My Alpha Glass is sitting in its box, unused.

good fit with otter case trouble up top of display
i bought this alpha glass protector product close to about a month ago. I like that fact that it protects my display which is what its suppose to do and it fits well with the otterbox case.The only down i see is that when trying to drag the screen settings from the top of the display it is difficult. It does not allow me to do so. It was applied very precisely, yet having that trouble just on the top of the screen. Wish i had an option to fix this. For what its worth this should not be a problem.

I had this on my phone for all of an hour and hated it. It's too thick. You have to press so hard for the phone to register your finger is on the screen. Makes texting impossible and doesn't let you scroll very well. I will put it on my phone maybe when I'm out and about all day in case it falls but for everyday use it is n it good.

Makes the screen unusable
This is rubbish! Once on the screen it renders the touch sensitivity of the screen virtually non existent! I persevered for a day or so but once reading a little more online about others with exactly the same problem i removed the glass and threw it away.

I bought this and applied it to my phone no problem easy. Flawless clarity and beautiful addition to the phone however, it doesn't want to react to touch as easily as B4 I applied it. I have to practically beat the screen to get an reaction so I dnt know if the glass is to thick or what but it's an issue. Gaming is impossible

Waste of time and money
The alpha glass protector significantly reduced the touch sensitivity of the phone screen. Trying to type a quick message on the keyboard took 10 times longer and trying to swipe down from the top of the screen to get to your notifications was nearly impossible. Very frustrating and time consuming. I ended up switching to an iPhone because there's no good way to protect the screen on the S8

Otter box is still the best, but screen protector is a no go on galaxy S8. I don't believe it's otter box's fault. It's the screen sensitivity on the S8. No way to increase it. Had 3 different ones. Returned them all.

A bitter disappointment
I've had this Alpha Glass Screen Protector on my Galaxy S8 for five days and I absolutely hate this Alpha Glass Screen Protector (AGSP. I wish I could give the AGSP negative numerical stars for this review. I should have listened to the other negative reviews concerning how the AGSP adversely decreases the sensitivity of the touch screen on the Samsung S8. Any icons, numbers and letters on the outer edge of the Samsung S8 are almost impossible to activate due to the AGSP not allowing the "touch" sensitivity to pass through to the touch screen. I have reapplied the AGSP several times and nothing works to fix this sensitivity problem. I hope OtterBox will take this worthless AGSP back and give me a full refund. I will keep the Defender OtterBox portion of this purchase as the Defender works well.

Have used your products on my s5 and was very happy. Went to the s8 and very dissatisfied. I went to another maker of screen protectors and because of the s8 curves nothing seems to fit. I am tired of punching the screen or pulling down any notifications. I am hoping you will be able to make some changes in the future on your screen protectors to work with the curves on the s8. I will be the first to buy it if you do as I have always been happy with your cases.

Poor fit causes lack of tactile response
The cover looks great but does NOT fit well. Because of the Samsung "edge" feature the cover has to be curved meaning that it does not flex sufficiently to offer enough sensitivity and/or contact with the actual screen.
You install the cover and the only way to get it to work is if you push really hard. Otherwise it doesn't recognize your input/touch.

One day I pulled my phone out of my pocket and the top of the protector was pulled away from the screen, I pushed it back down and it cracked the screen protector. I bought the Clear Protected Alpha Glass cover for my S8 with the Commander Case and within 2 days I started having touch screen issues. I am noticing the Commander Case is getting under the edges of the Glass screen protector and pushing the protector up slightly which is causing the touch screen issues. Either the Commander case needs to wrap around a little higher or the Alpha Glass needs to continue further down, another MM would do the trick. Sucks cause the molds for both products must be a pretty penny if replacement is required.

This is my 2nd one. The 1st one popped out of the case day 1. The 2nd one fits but makes it hard to use phone. When look at notification bar I have to press really hard to get to it. When texting I have to go over it for it to pick up. Just not what I thought. My last glass case was wonderful for my old phone.

I got this for my S8 because it was available at launch. Biggest complaint is the touch sensitivity. With the screen protector on, the sensitivity is garbage. I called after I put it on and they are sending a replacement. They tried to make me pay shipping but, I argued that and got it waived. Ended up pulling it off. Such a disappointment from a company like Otterbox.

Terrible product.
The website says that it is designed for the Otterbox case but as soon as I placed it inside, the edges of the glass lifted and the adhesive cracked off. If you do manage to finally get the case to clamp around the edges properly then you will notice that the glass will bow away from the screen which makes it almost impossible to use the touch screen. The sensitivity is so poor that I had to push as hard as I could to get it to recognize my finger while typing and certain areas of the screen didn't work at all.
The returns process is awful too. I was told by one of their employees on the phone that I would be able to return it from Canada free of charge and when I tried I was told that the shipping label they sent me would only work in the U.S.
So now I have to drive down to the states to mail it back, and they still deduct $5 from your refund for shipping costs.
Don't buy glass screen protectors for Galaxy S8, they don't work.

Very poor fit and touch screen not woking
I received alpha glass packaged ok and delivery ok. Put it on phone as per instructions with a new defender case as recommended to be compatible together. In the first 5 minutes of use noticed screen not as sensitive as it should be along the edges and along the top. The screen protector lifted around the ear peace at top of screen. So this is an expensive product at 40euro that doesn't work very unhappy with this product.

Screen Protector Unsatisfactory Lacks Sensitivity
23 hours after receiving my S8, it corner impacted on the garage floor. I waited until I received my Case and Alpha Glass Screen Protector before I activated the replacement phone. Installation was easy and without issue. However, the screen protector made the phone unusable; Apps required multiple taps to open and it required hard pressure and multiple attempts to open the notifications and pull downs. Very disappointing for the price point and product reputation. . This product will be returned.

Solid Cover for the Front
This products works quite well for me. I haven't abused my phone to see how much damage it can withstand but it has been well protected in the few drops that it has had. I have read some people say that they have had trouble with the edge sensors of the touchscreen. I haven't had any trouble with using the touchscreen with this screen protector on but it won't work with gloves. My gloves were working just fine before I added the screen protector. I don't really mind this. My only negative for this screen protector is that it doesn't stick well enough. It seems like it is going to come off when I remove the Symmetry case.

Not up to Otter Box quality
I have bought many Otterbox products and found them to be above the rest. That is until I tried to install the $45 Alpha Glass protection for my new S8 with a Defender case. The glass is an interference fit regardless of the order of installation. Unfortunately for me I was a few days past the 30 day return policy, so I am stuck with a useless product. Sad to say I will no longer be able to support my home town company.

Bought the screen protector and the galaxy s8 same day and before I even left the Verizon store it came off due to the otter box case pushing on the edge of it. Not only that after it had been put on I had to push hard on it for the phone to even register that I was touching it.
Swapped the screen protector for a different brand one that fit with the otter box case and next day was still having issues with the touch registering and was having to push hard again to get my phone to do anything. By the end of the second day that screen protector was starting to fall of as well.
I took the it back and received my money back and will now get a soft gel style screen protector like I had on my S5 which worked great.
Good friend got the S8 with the otter box screen protector and is havi g the same issues. He has to push hard on the screen for it to register. Steer clear of this screen protector, it's garbage!

Don't buy!
Useless protector. Completely lost my screen's touch sensitivity. With of without a case. Keeps making that popping sound meaning it is not sticking properly to the screen. For a very steep price, this is completely poorly made. Plus they did not specify if it's case compatible or not. But it won't make any difference as it still ineffective without a case. I want a refund!

Did not work with protective case
Application of the product was simple, however only a very thin line of adhesive was present around the edge of the screen protector. The responsiveness of the screen was poor, had to push really hard. Texting/typing was nearly impossible. When I put the case on, it popped all the edges of the screen protector and the whole thing came off. I could not get it to readhere...just slid around.

I used the screen protector for 2 weeks and the touch sensitivity is just terrible, and there's an enormous delay and I can't almost use the drop-down from the top screen and writing mail's or messages is just terrible...very sorry to say this but it's the truth

Don't waste your money....
I bought this screen protector 3 weeks ago and it does not work properly on the S8. The fit is not perfect enough when using a protective case to ensure good contact with the screen. Sensitivity in the middle of the screen is zero...you have to push down and make the protective screen touch the screen sometimes and then also press hard for anything to happen. The screen started cracking after 4 days of this and broke into fine slivers. Otterbox did promise to send me a replacement 2 weeks ago which never arrived but honestly, I do not see how it would have made any difference. I think Samsung created a screen which is going to be difficult to protect and still have full functionality.

Worst ever! DO NOT Purchase!
I purchased one the day I got my phone within 2 days the screen was cracked. Lucky, my service provider exchanged it. Now 5 days later the new one cracked. I have had screen protectors on all my phones and never had one crack from being in my pocket as was the case both times. Upon farther examination, I realized the curve shape of the class does not fit snug around the edges leaving a void so the slightest pressure the screen protector cracks. I am not happy and I will be demanding a refund!

I followed the directions carefully and it seemed to be applied to my screen well. Directions say it is a one time application and best used with Otter box cases. Once I out the case on (the next day there was lost sensitivity in 1 corner, and the screen cracked within a day of adding the case. It cracked from the pressure of the case, because there was no impact or other pressure put on it.

Please Do Not Buy
The Alpha Glass Protector does not work well with the Otter Box Case that I purchased. They were actually recommended for purchase together and after using them both for 4 days the glass cracked. The glass does not have a snug fit once you attach the case. It causes s lift effect under the glass due to the squeezing of the case on the edges of the screen protector. Which also causes the reduced sensitivity that I heard everyone else complaining about. The Alpha Glass broke on my phone while in my sweater pocket with nothing else in it, on it or next to it. I didn't bump into anything or anyone and I'm still mystified as to how it broke. For the length of time I used it it's definitely not worth the money and I would like a refund.

I purchased for the Galaxy S8 because the Alpha Glass was great on my S5. This Alpha Glass for the S* doesn't sit well on the screen, has a sharp bottom edge (doesn't curve over), seems like it floats a little on the phone, and worse, it's horrible on all edges (which you need to be able to use on this phone). It feels as if it is too tight for the phone, so you cannot get proper contact with the phones screen. You have to press way to hard to get through any process. This product needs a recut or redesign, something is very wrong with it.

I purchased this screen protector at the Sprint store in Annapolis, MD. The salesman who sold it to me and applied it said there was an issue pulling down the notification bar, but said that it was still a good idea to have it. As soon as I got hands on my new phone I immediately realized it was a mistake to buy it. You have to really push down to type and swipe the keyboard and apps. Save your money. This product is NOT worth the $50.

Alpha glass does not work as stated with Defender
I purchased the otterbox Defender and Alpha glass a little over 1 week ago. Imitally when the Alpha glass was installed, it worked as stated. My touch screen functioned as normal. Then over the next few days with the defender case on, spots started to come up near the top of the phone where the touchscreen was unresponsive. A meer annoyance, assent a hug problem just had to push really hard. Then these spots spread all over the screen. It got to the point where I had to rip the alpha glass off, as I was unable to even use my phone. Being that the purchase cost me $170 Canadian, I will not be recommending otterbox at all. While the Defender worms well the fact that the Alpha glass did not work as advertised makes this a terrible purchase

The first one i bought was cracked inside the box, they did send me a new one free of charge. The 2nd one is terrible, doesnt stick anywhere except the edges and you have to press really hard to do anything, worst product out there.

Not Reliable
It is the best screen protector around because it's the only screen protector that wraps around the screen because the screens are curved, but sometimes certain parts of the phone screen won't work for some reason. Sadly it's towards the area where I am typing on my on-screen keyboard. In sum, if you want to buy this to protect your screen, this is the best one you can buy. But be ready because the screen might have some issues.

Less stress in my life
Great product. I haven't had any drops or crashes to the screen BUT if this is anything like the rest of Otterbox's products it will do great and if it is damaged Otterbox will replace.
I only wish the S8's screen wasn't so difficult as it pertains to responsiveness, luckily Alpha glass is easy to reapply and move around in order to get the sweet (perfect) spot.

Picked up phone at Costco and got an outer box and the screen protector. Both were installed by the reps at Costco. Touch screen did not work well. Reps reinstalled screen protector, worked good. Reps installed phone into case, l sat down to wait for a hot dog. Screen protector seem to be coming up in corner, pushed down and it broke. Reps installed new one, discovered that after screen protector installed the case pushes it off in the corners. Costco refused money.

Have been a long-time Otterbox customer and received my Defender case and Alpha glass for my new S8 followed the directions for the Alpha glass all was good for the 1st day, next day glass had popped off and will not stay in place now. Was a waste of $45.00

Glass Screen is a poor product
The first glass screen lasted less than 3 days and the 2nd lasted for a week. Neither one were dropped and I used the installation tool that was provided to apply glass correctly. I used to be an Otter box believer but I am quickly reconsidering.

I bought this screen protector about a week ago along with a Defender series case for my new S8. Alone, the Alpha Glass may be a great screen protector but it does not work with the Defender series case. Otterbox claims that they work together great but in reality they are not compatible by no means. The Alpha Glass is pushed away from the screen and renders the phone unusable due to pressure sensitivity issues.

Cracked in a couple of days
I am glad my screen is not cracked, by the screen guard did and I have not dropped my phone or slammed it down. It lives on my desk and handbag (which I am not rough with either). I do like how the screen is still very clear and sensitive with the guard on, just wished it lasted longer.

great; I still have problems with glare
It exists without drawing attention to itself and the phone works great with it on, so I am grateful for this. I was hoping it would eliminate glare problems I have when using my phone in the seeming more and more brightly lit areas in the city and maybe the protector is providing some help here. But if you are hoping for it to eliminate glare problems, it hasn't done this for me. I know that the protector doesn't claim to be a glare filter.

not a good mix with the DEFENDER SERIES :(
this screen protector makes the phone very had to use with a DEFENDER SERIES case over the top, it lifts the screen protector off the phone and makes it unresponsive and very annoying. the DEFENDER SERIES is so tight on the screen protector that it even cracked the corner of the protector..........it works a bit better without the case on but still not great........dont waste ya money just buy a defender case :) i sent warranty an email and haven't heard from them.............do get me wrong i like my otterbox just this combination needs a lot more RnD

almost returned, but adjustment fixed sensitivity
I was this close to returning this due to clicking sound near the edges and me having to have to press hard to type...BUT after watching a youtube video i ever so slightly readjusted the glass and now the sensitivity is just fine. Just wanted to let someone know incase they are having similar issues. *Otterbox feel free to hook me up if this saves people from lots of returns* ;-

Defender brilliant but alpha screen not great
I bought the defender caae ans the alpha glass screen protector for my samsung galaxy s8. The case is brilliant but the alpha glass screen protector was not up to the standard of the case so now i have no screen protector as it it is not fit for purpose i applied exactly as stated but has become very unreponsive not even a month old so i have wasted my money

Fitment is terrible when used with thw Defender Case. Touch sensativity decreases on the phone & the upper pull down tab stopped working. I attempted to reposition the screen protector & it cracked. A waste of $40+. I wish they would just make a case with built in protector like my S5.

Goes from PC to Mac in sharp edge, I have the s8+ and it's so smooth, the glass makes it sharp on the edges. Definitely a difference in sensitivity as well.

Does not function with the Defender Case
The plastic inner shell of the Otterbox Defender case compresses the edges of S8 Screen Protector to the point where only vigorous finger pressure yields functional results.
Other than this discontinuity, I remain a loyal customer to the Defender series and to Otterbox...knowing their Customer Service will come to the reduce...

Save your money for something else
I had the same problem as everyone else. The phone's screen sensitivity with this on it just terrible. I had to take it off, and now that money's down the drain. Horrible way to spend 45 dollars.

Good but unresponsive
I purchased this product with very high hopes and I even purchased the OtterBox defender as well at Best buy when I got the phone. At first it seemed really good but now after some time sometimes the glass seems to shift around and then I have to take the case off just to get the glass back in place. Very big investment to have bought when everything is installed perfect and I still have problems and dead spots in the screen.

I ordered the glass on line. The glass it too thick so you have to press really hard to scroll and text. UDnfortunately I threw the original packaging away so I cant return the product.

This glass isn't glass first off. Also it doesn't seat well to phone. It's bragged that it's comparable with the phone and cases but would come off every chance. It wouldn't respond well to the touch screen, especially closer to the edges. Will be calling service about his. I love otterbox but they missed the ball with this one.

I was very disappointed and removed it
I had this screen protector on for a couple of days and hated it so I removed it. It made the screen unresponsive and near impossible to use my phone. I replaced it with a different brand glass screen protector, same as I had had previously, and it works perfectly. I was disappointed that Otterbox would only replace the product and I had to pay postage for the replacement, when I didn't want to pay another lot of postage to receive the same defective product.

I bought the protective glass along with the case, both from Otterbox. The glass worked fine when the phone wasn't in the case. When the phone was in the case, it evidently made the glass separate slightly from the phone. I could barely use my phone. Typing text messages was a nightmare. Will keep the case and return the glass.

It looks great: crystal clear. After I installed it, the left side of my screen and the top, bottom, and left edges required strong pressure to respond. The upper left corner didn't work at all. It seemed as if it didn't really fit properly. When I tried to push it on more tightly, it cracked. I have since removed it.

I got this screen protector with the defender case, it works well but sometimes the side of the defender case at the edge of the screen binds up and gets underneath the screen protector. Witch causes the screen to loose sensitivity. Prompting me to hard press the screen to get any feedback. Causing one side of the screen to be useless. But if I take off the defrnder case and then put it back on it temporally fixes the problem. I feel like the adhesive of the screen protector will only last about a year if that. After that you would have to replace it with a new one. Besides that it is a very robust and integrated screen protector.

Not happy with this product
I bought this screen protector to avoid getting the glass scratched. I am very disappointed with the product as I cannot swipe accurately when writing text messages or emails. The glass is too thick I guess. I am going to look for a plastic protector instead. Will try to return the product.

Terrible Sensitivity
Before I put this on, the screen was very responsive and fun to use like it should be. It came in good time and was well package and very presentable. After putting it on according to the instructions, it was like it wasn't a touch screen anymore. I would touch something and it wouldn't respond, I have try again and again. Sending text messages takes forever and is very frustrating. Very disappointing.

Do not buy. It does not sit correctly. Even with an Otterbox Symmetry case it broke 2 days after installing from a 2 ft drop. The Otterbox glass screen protector also ruined the screen sensitivity. I would have to press very hard and my edges were completely unresponsive.

Ok not the best
At first I was very unhappy because it wouldn't set properly and I had to press on the apps and keyboard much harder than normal. So I removed it and put back on twice and finally after a week it seems to have set properly and pushing apps and keyboard are at a normal touch.

Sides pucker on my S8+ and screen becomes unrespon
Purchased from Costco and had it installed there with the otterbox commuter case, The case I love the Alpha Glass is not ready yet. When it was first installed it worked fine but over the course of just a few days the sides are puckering and the screen is starting to be unresponsive to normal swipes. It was store installed, I will be returning for a replacement.

I bought 2 of these one for myself and one for a friend. Cost almost €80-00... both of us have discarded them and for t he same reason.... the screen protector makes using the phone very difficult to use as it greatly affects the screens sensitivity. I must say we were both very disappointed.

I have always used Otter for all of my past cell phones and when I purchased my new Galaxy S8 I didn't hesitate to order another Otter with the Alpha Glass Screen protector. The Otter design with the Alpha Glass Screen protector is sleek and doesn't restrict the use of all of the Galaxy S8's newest features.

It's sucks
Not happy at all. I had to get a replacement after 2 weeks because the screen started to peel off. I was told to wait 24 hours before putting my otter box back on and nope, still peeling off and it's been 3 days.

I was excited to find a screen protector available before the phone launched. I opened the phone box and installed the protector right away with no issues. After a week of using the phone I was ready to return it because I thought something was wrong with the touch screen. I was getting carpal tunnel trying to push down hard enough or enough times to get it to react. Finally in frustration I removed the screen protector and WOW my s8 reacts instantly. I don't know if it doesn't fit snug enough or the glass is too thick, but Otterbox needs to go back and reevaluate this design.

Not responsive enough
I expected a much better product for the price point. It's been a few weeks now and I am considering throwing this item away. Text, email and Swype are all to difficult with this product. I have repositioned it, cleaned it but still no substantial improvement.
Overall I am very disappointed

My glass became separated with a tiny gap between the glass and screen, so I would have to press extra hard to get a reaction. I decided to fully remove it, and it later broke. Because the breakage was my fault, I couldn't ask for a warranty fix. Currently my phone only has Otterbox Strada case with a wallet type closure. I decided that's adaquet for now.

I was under the impression the glass would cover the entire screen but it doesn't. Also the Alpha Glass does not respond with the screen. I have to add more pressure when typing or navigating the screens.

The only reason why I didn't rate it 5 stars is because the loss of screen sensitivity. I have to press down harder than normal especially near the edges and corners. Other than that it is really strong and could hold up most drops and scratches.

Have had it on the S8 for a month. Very happy but have not dropped the phone. A friend dropped his after one week, the glass protector broke bit not the screen. So guess it andcthe Otter Box did their job. The case does not pop the glass off. Looses a little sensitivity around the edges. The screen should come with a monting frame like the Zagg screens to put it on 100% correctly as it took me a couple of times as it did pop of with the case if itbis not on exactly.

Cracked the 1st day
I received this glass screen protector and my otter box commuter series for my S8 today. I put the screen protector on 1st and then when I was trying to put the case on, it cracked across the top and down the lower right side. I see where the defender series states It's "Designed for a perfect fit" with this screen protector, so I've ordered 1 of those cases as well 2 see if it works any better.

I feel like it is protecting my screen, but it has changed the sensitivity of the screen and my phone is now not as responsive which is super annoying. I have had better ones before which is annoying as this one was a more money.

I love the alpha glass. I usually get it for all my phones. It's easy clean and put on the phone. The only issue I have is w the galaxy S8 it tends to be difficult on the curved edges at times.

Air gap between protector and screen
The adhesive is only on the "edges" of the screen protector. There is a an air gap between the screen and the protector for the flat part of the screen.
Does NOT respond to light touches.

Not worth the money
Bought this a couple weeks ago for the galaxy s8. Noticed as soon as i put it on that the touch screen didn't work that well anymore. The edge of the screen protector cracked while my phone was in my jeans pocket when i was bending over. If otter box stood behind their product they would replace it. For a product that is supposed to protect your screen it broke pretty easily.

Looks good, protects, but reduces screen function
I work for Samsung. Bought this for my S8 to test out. Loved the look and feel of it, and it was perfect for screen protection. However, I'm a fast typer and have quick fingers when I use my phone, and the screen greatly reduced the screen's functionality. I had to long-press or even hold keys for them to work when I had the screen on. Texting & email became nigh-impossible. Unfortunately, this product was not for me.

Hated it and Broke Quickly
I bought this a few weeks ago with my new phone and was stoked to try it out! I love Otter Box stuff usually, but I honestly hated the Alpha Glass from the moment I opened the package. It's very hard, is clearly hard plastic and not glass (why not make it stronger?), and doesn't stick well, mostly because there is a tiny, tiny little line of glue just barely around the edge rather than the whole screen stickiness of a typical screen protector. Just bad engineering (I've read a lot of reviews on other sites that have this and the following complaint...) I followed the directions perfectly (as they are basic), yet the bottom left corner didn't stick correctly and was raised a few millimeters off the edge (and of course made that irritating sticking-unsticking noise with every touch of my screen--a major pet peeve of mine). On top of that, I could tell it would get a ton of dust underneath it (that I couldn't clean without removing it) and make my VR worthless in a few months as well as decrease picture quality. Joy.
Then, as I barley tried to put the case that's supposedly built for it on, I broke the "Alpha Glass". I realized afterwards that there was an easier way to put the case on and that was my fault, but nonetheless, it really didn't take much force (maybe 4-5 lbs of pressure) to break the "Alpha Glass" as I broke it lightly trying to push my phone into the case ONE TIME for about 3 seconds... (I had a different style Otter Box case and attempted to put it in that way. Tried once, very lightly and it snapped--see picture.) Pretty sure 1-2 falls and it's done for as I just barely tried to push it in and broke it. Had it on my phone for less than 2 minutes. I'd have tried to go through the replacement process, but I can get a regular screen protector for about the same price as the shipping on the replacement and I don't want another one of these things. Could not recommend NOT buying a product more. Was disappointed from the moment I opened it.

Terrible!
I bought this a couple weeks ago. The screen has already cracked at the top. It slides around and the Commuter case will actually get under it and push it up at the top. I find myself unable to use it as a touch screen. I have to press everywhere to use it. I will avoid using my phone sometimes because I hate using it so much with the screen protector.

Glass Screen Protectors Don't Work For The S8
Just added it to my cart to see if it was any better. It was not and the adhesive again sas only around the edges of the protector creating an air bubble in the center of the protector. What does this do? Several things
It prevents screen feedback on the screen
It creates issues with protecting the screen as well as being used for several cases.
The protector may bend if too much pressure is applied
The adhesive will not stick and the protector will fall off.
I removed the protector after a day of using it and never went back.

Waste of money and infuriating
It's almost impossible to get this screen protector to match up with the phone. If by chance you manage to do so on the first try, then the chances are good that when you put your case back on it will nudge it and it will get out of placement again. When it isn't exactly in the right position, you loose all touch sensitivity on the edges of the screen, particularly on the top. If I hadn't gotten a pro deal on this item, I would have returned it.

Hard to use phone
I put the alpha glass screen on on Thursday, by Monday it was already coming off. I used it with the otter box defender series for the galaxy s8. It also is very hard to use the phone. You have to push hard on the phone. My wife's galaxy s8 plus screen didn't stick at all. First time I have had a issue with otterbox.

I have had my Alpha Glass for less than one week and already it has cracked. I have not dropped my phone, I assume it must have happened while in my bag. Yes a new screen protector is less expensive than a replacement screen, but nex time I might just order a knock off from ebay. I expected more from Otterbox based on the reviews.

Bought this when I picked up my s8 at Sprint. Sprint employee broke the first two during installation, the third went on ok but spidered when I touched the bottom of the screen 10 minutes after leaving the Sprint store. There must have been something under the glass is the only thing I can imagine. The way i see it i spent way too much ($50) for a screen protector that is apparently so fragile or poorly designed I don't trust it to protect my phone.

I purchased this product thinking it would be the best solution for my new curved screen Galaxy S8. Unfortunately it made using my new phone a terrible experience. Some sections of the touch screen were not responsive due to the screen protector not being flush with the screen. I tried it out for a day thinking that it was in my head and that I just needed to get used to it but time did not fix this issue for me. After that I just took it off and forgot about it.

Well, if you like random cracks in your screen...
I have never dropped, pressed too hard, or done anything to explain why there are a number of small scratches that have now spider webbed across my screen protector. Best part, I had this screen protector for 4 days...4 days!!! I also have an otterbox case on my phone too so I'm gonna chalk this up to either these screens aren't meant to have a protector because of the shape or the protector is just very poor quality. Either way, not happy I spent 45 dollars on something that was only good for a few days. Buyers be warned.

Waste of money
Since "glass screen protectors" came out, I have used them on my phones. I recently purchased a Galaxy 8; LOVE the phone, NOT so much the Atlas Screen Protector. I installed it and planned to wait 72 hours before installing the Commuter Case (techno geeks have suggested waiting for a proper "seat" because using certain cases can cause curved screen protectors to pop off). FIRST off, there were "bubbles"; can't see them, but can hear them AND the screen's sensitivity is gone. SECOND off, protector cracked in upper left AND right hand corners when I attempted to smooth out the bubbles although I really don't know when it happened as I did not notice the cracks until I got to work this morning. SO, all in all the screen protector was on my phone a total of 36 hours and it is TOAST. It was a HUGE waste of money, I have NEVER spent this much on a screen protector (or case for that matter) before, but then again I never spent that much on a phone that I needed to protect. DESIGN FLAW in the screen protectors perhaps? I know the curved screen DOES present some difficulties. Both of my daughters bought the SAME phones AND protective devices... TWO of us have had issues so far. Would not recommend this product at this time...maybe later if design is changed up...?!

If you know what you're doing and have a steady hand this screen protector is the best one out.
It is a little pain in the rear to put the case on without peeling the screen protector off, but as long as you put the rubber on first then the hard plastic then it shouldn't be much of an issue.
I love it, feels nice, fits screen perfectly, and touch sensibility is the same as before.

I gave the defender case a 5 star rating but I don't think it was posted. It's a great case.
Now I have installed the alpha glass screen protector and Its working perfectly. Now some of you have reported areas of the screen that have no sensitivity to touch. I had the same problem the first time I installed it. I have *show touches* turned on in developer options,so I know exactly where the problem areas are. The left was really bad and I had to push hard in some center areas.
If first you don't succeed try, try again. I very gently lifted the alpha glass up and moved it a thousands of an inch to the right and gently, gently pushed it down into place. So the alpha glass I thought would never work and about to give up on is now so sensitive I can't even tell it's there.

Secure, tough, OK on sensitivity
The Alpha glass seems to fit well, be well designed and be tough. But because of the curved screen design (this is my guess anyway) any screen touch buttons on the curved section are really quite difficult to 'click'. The sensitivity or function of the glass at this point is not great.

Maybe I installed this wrong but followed the instructions had it all lined up and looking perfect. Put the case back on and it was hard to type. I really had to push my fingers down to type or pick an app etc. And one week after it slipped down? There was a bubble and it cracked on the top part. Had to press even harder to type. To it off and it cracked more.

Purchased the alpha cover for the galaxy s8. Cover broke the same day without the phone being drop or any type of mishandling. During the 8 hours it was on, the touch response was completely gone. Had to press down too hard to get it to work. Have another cover on the way. Round 2.

Good by itself, but not with the defender case
I've had this on the Samsung S8 the last couple weeks and have found that the defender series case actually peals the glass up at the edges, making the touch screen almost impossible to use at times. I need to have a case on this phone do to my job, but it looks like I won't be able to use the screen protector along with it.

The phone is the problem
The Alpha Glass Screen Protector for my Samsung Galaxy S8 is doing what it is supposed to do.
However; once installed it makes it difficult to get any buttons on the edge of the curved screen to work. I really have to press on the protector to get them to function.
Also, because the protector does not fasten to the face but only the edges of the screen, it has now lifted and more pressure is needed to get any of the icons to react.
it is no longer a touch screen but a press screen.
I don't know why the protector can't be attached to the face as well as the edge, but if it is due to something in the glass of the phone then it is a phone issue not a protector issue.
If Otterbox can come up with a protector that sticks to the whole glass and not just the edges then it would be a much better product.

I bought this and it doesn't fit very well keeps coming up from the sides of my otter box cover that I bought. I have to adjust it continuously. also I did drop my phone and it cracked a tiny crack in the middle of it and it was fine but then it cracked in several different places from that one crack.

Great protection for your investment in your phone
When I first put it on, it popped off a couple of times.....the secret to success is getting it positioned just right. Now it is doing its job of protecting the face of my phone. Touch sensitivity is not perfect but is pretty good.....just takes some getting used to.

First off I love their products and customer service it out of this world. But, sadly the alpha glass does not fit the screen properly I'm sure it's great quality but does not adhere around ear piece which is a issue if you plan on using the notification bar. But the touch sensitivity gets worse as the other adhesive releases. I got a replacement in hopes I received a defective one. Same thing happened spent every bit of 10 mins cleaning and making sure everything was perfectly lined up for it to do the same also put a weight on the phone and applied heat in hopes I could make it work. Refund issued now. Otter box is having a meeting soon hopefully this will be addressed and corrected soon I would love to have the protection I trust.

First & last time I'll use the Alpha Glass
I bought this when I bought the new S8 because I wanted to wait to see what other cases I could find than what were available at my local Sprint store. After leaving the store I immediately noticed that the touch screen was very slow to respond & I was basically "punching" my phone to get anything to respond. At first I thought I hated the new S8 because of how it was responding. I later realized it was the alpha glass. When I woke up the next morning the glass was shattered like it had been dropped (which it hadn't)! I took it back to the Sprint store & was told my only option was to file a claim with Otterbox because it had a 1 year warranty. I don't want another glass - I just want my money back. I don't plan on putting it back on my phone! We'll see what Otterbox says when I give them a call.

I have never taken the time to write a product review but this screen protector is so terrible I had to warn people! It makes the screen barely responsive to touch. You literally have to press so hard you feel like you are going to break your screen! Absolutely horrible!

Screen protector doesn't work
Just got the S8 at Costco today and got the Otterbox case and screen protector. While the protector covers the entire screen it is almost impossible to use the screen with it on. You have to apply way to much pressure to be able to use your phone. So I guess I will just use the case with no protector, no point in having a touch screen if you can't use it.

The Alpha glass screen protector seems to require much more pressure than previous covers. I cons on V sides or on the edges seem to need 3 or 4 presses before they respawn previous covers which included the protective screen cover never gave me that issue and always responded quickly to my touch without any hesitation. It was relatively easy to install on my new S8.I am wondering how it will hold up when submerged in water or dropped in water all of my other Protective covers did allow water under them but were part of the 3 layers of the other Box

Lost sensitivity on screen
I bought two one for my wife's S8 and mine. Mine was fine for about a week then cracked around the speaker opening plus I lost sensitivity on the screen as soon as I put it on. On my wife's one in the centre of the screen it's got a glare in between screen and glass protector which happened to days after was applied

Purchased this thinking it was the right thing to do with my new S8, the fit was fine but the protector broke and splintered after 3 days of use. It also completely decreased any screen sensitivity and it was nearly impossible to bring the top scroll down menu down.

Un-usable uneven.
Brought the defender case, in which I've loved and wasn't as annoyed as others were about there being no screen protector. I figured I'd buy the alpha screen protector and still get that nice s8 screen feel. However after installation I discovered the phone became completely inoperable. The whole right side of my phone lost all touch sensation. Also the glass itself is a terrible fit, hangs over the edges way to far and wouldnt even sit comfortable in the otterbox case. Quite obviously otterbox rushed the launch of this product to be available for preorders with out any testing and have produced a dud of a product.

Terrible Screen Cover
I just received this screen cover for my Samsung Galaxy S8, and I am extremely disappointed. The fit around the edges is very bad and causes the adhesive to making a cracking sound every time I try to push the screen. With the screen cover installed, the phone registers less than half of the commands I try make with my fingers.
Please don't purchase this product.

The upper menu on the Sansung s8 screen was difficult to accsess with the screen protection installer. The glue for the protection came lose within days after installation, do that the protection Disney stuck correctly to the screen. Thus resulting in that it cracked...

The case is an alright case. It's definitely durable and looks like it would handle what it was made out to do. The only problem is that the response time lags when touching the screen. It appears the case may be too thick or the adhesive may be preventing for full touch sensitivity. More pressure may be required to have the case 'settled onto the phone before the touch sensitivity improves. Once that happens, I would be happy to suggest this case to others.

Didn't fit with the defender case.
Within two days of installing the glass with the Defender case, the glass cracked. It's a shame as the glass by itself seemed initially ok. It also was a far better fit than my previous s7 glass as this one covered the sides too. I've raised a ticked with otter box and I'll be happy to change my review if a replacement glass is any good.

My first purchas of alpha glass worked great and did it's job. My second purchase barely functions with my screen. On the lower end it works fine. On the upper end I have to use screen with a lot of dinger pressure.

Hi I purchased this glass and had some problems with the responsiveness.
I reached out to otter box who sent me out a new glass and I was told how to apply the glass and the 24hrs waiting period before I put the case on it's sad to say it didn't work for me. I'm a long time user of otter box products I lo be ur products but sad to say I'm disappointed with this one

Interferes with Edge Sensitivity
Installation was easy; unfortunately, the glass interferes with the edge touch sensitivity so that one side or the other only responds when pressed hard. I tried reinstalling the cover several times, using the earpiece cutout as the guide, but each time either the left or the right side would require pressing down much more firmly than on the rest of the screen. Adding a Commuter Case made the problem worse, whereby the protector would make a clicking sound when depressed (I think the case was squeezing the protector and causing it to lift). And for an edge phone, where the display stretches over the edges, this ruins the usability of the device.

Very disappointed! So sad, I have alot of my devices on otterbox defender cases. One of the things I liked the most was that I didn't have to spend extra money on a separate display protector. I hate the fact that otterbox took that feature away on the galaxy 8 defender case. To top it off, the alpha glass, is a horrible product, for such a steep price. It doesn't fit the screen properly, the case didn't clip back on correctly and I couldn't work my phone properly; had to push down on the screen super hard. Took it right off. So SAD!

Does not work well when defender case used
The screen sensitivity suffers greatly when used with Otterbox Defender case. When case is removed the screen sensitivity is restored. Seems like case puts pressure on the glass and affects the sensitivity.

Otterbox review glass no good
I love my case for the s8 so I ordered a real glass cover from otterbox to compliment my case. The glass took away all the dexterity from the touch screen. Could not even get my edge contacts to display. So after 3 days and several missed calls and more than enough mistyped texts I took it off and will go with plastic laminate. Other than that like I said I love the case but they will have to rethink the edge designs for glass covers.

Worst screen protector ever
Does not fit with any of the cases, it always pops out and is really hard to do anything on your phone with it. Not even 10 minutes after finally getting it to fit in my case did it crack and shatter. They shouldn't even offer these for sale it's a waste of money do not buy!!!

Don't know if it was used error or not but the screen protector would not fit properly. The middle of the phone would not register what I was doing. The edges worked fine but it's almost as if the middle was bowed out or something.

I've always been a big fan of Otter box and their products; however, this misses the mark, a few weeks after using the product it is already starting to come off the phone. I followed the directions correctly and had no issues using it on my Samsung S8, but now the screen protector is lifting off of the top and bottom slightly and makes a clicking noise when the phone is touched there. Sadly I will be replacing this with another product. It does a good job of protecting the screen; I just wish it was better at staying attached to the phone.

Terrible Purchase
This screen protector cracked the 1st day I used it. I still can not believe how easily it cracked I was putting the new outter box case on and it cracked. Also it is too thick for you to easily use your phone anymore. You have to really press down to get contact with the screen.

Fits well, but sensitivity loss
Installed the item today, fits fine but looks someone else mentioned the touch response is lost. The top pull down bar is a pain and normal taps / edge touches are at a 50% success rate.
I give it a 1 star regardless of the spot on fitment because it renders your phone a pain to use.

They sent us the wrong one and so we used it on my husband's phone luckily it was the right one for his but it broke shortly after one drop twelve inched from the ground and so we got a new liquid cover that works really well

Disappointed-had to return
Order processing and delivery was excellent. However when I placed this product on my screen it completely diminshed the touch sensitivity of the top and edge swipe bars. I had reduced sensitivity on most other areas of my screen so editing a text required massive pressure on the screen and slowed down the experience of using the phone. I would not recommend this product but have had other positive experiences with otter box products and would not give up on them yet.

Glass is too thick, not able to use all of screen. Yes, I removed protective plastic. Otter Box needs to come out with a defender case for Edge phones with a protective cover made into it. Total waste of my money!!!

Don't waste your money
I bought 2 of these. One for my spouse and the other for myself, thinking it would give me the best protection I could get. They would not stick to the screen, nor were they reactive to the touch of my hand. I found myself pounding away at my phone just to type messages. Not a good product. Save yourself time and money, and just go with a much cheaper, thin screen protector.

I bought the glass screen protector for the Galaxy s8 and it was a bad decision. My screen was not as responsive as it was without the screen protector. I figure it is because there is only adhesive on the edges of tyhe screen protector. It would be fine for the first hour or so but after some use I found myself having to pressure down the screen protector because it wasn't sticking to the screen only the edges. This would cause an invisible while screen bubble that would force me to put more pressure on my phone to get a response. I work at a cell phone store but I dont feel confortable selling the screen protector. Great idea, a lot of room improvement.

Renders phone unusable
I recently purchased the alphaglass screen protector for my galaxy s8, and from past experience with Otterbox cases I expected great things. Unfortunately, once on the phone I was unable to use the screen without excessive force. The back arrow was unusable, as well as the edge function, even scrolling was severely hindered. The lack of functionality was only accentuated by the poor glue used, with the screen protector sliding around the screen only adding to its flaws. After this experience, I would not be inclined to purchase a screen protector from Otterbox again.

Terrible-Not up to OtterBox standard of excellence
Had the alpha glass professionally installed. Looks great but the screen touch sensitivity was immediately affected. I have to either pound on the screen to get it to respond or it takes many multiple efforts (like the pull down notification screen). Extremely frustrating and not what I expected from OtterBox!

Touch screen sensitivity
Half of my screen is very touch sensitive while the other half I have to press with all my might in order to do anything. I placed the protector exactly in the middle like instructed and had extra screen on one side. Mind you that really isn't a big deal including the fact that it is a infinity screen which I understand is a difficult thing to prefect but when I paid roughly 49 dollars, I would prefer to have at least a fully functional screen protector.

Works great when properly applied
Other reviews say this doesn't fit and causes the screen to lose touch sensitivity. I'm not exactly sure how I fixed it, but all I did was reapply it and pressed the protector onto the screen. Since then, I don't even notice It's there.

Poor alpha screen, but excellent defender cases
I purchased 2 screen protectors on the launch day, as I purchased 2 defender cases In advanced. After 2 weeks, my screen protector did not adhere after 48 hours of setting. My wife was unable to use the her application prior to play in the screen. We have constantly pur based the defender for prior phones. We have found the alpha screen has fallen short. Mine came off after 2 weeks. We are still happy with the defender cases, but the alpha screen has fallen short.

Did it's job as expected
I didn't yet have a case on my phone, just the Alpha Glass. Well, I accidentally flung my phone pretty hard onto concrete and even though the Alpha Glass cracked, the phone's display was unharmed. So I got a new Alpha Glass thanks to the awesome warranty policy and it's good as new. I also have an Otter Symmetry case on my phone now and am ready for the apocalypse.

I purchased two (one for me and one for my husband) and we both have had similar issues. All in all - we like it. When it's properly fitted it works great. The hardest part is finding the "sweet spot" and keeping it there. We find that the screen shifts and that is inconvenient. My glass protector broke within a week and I am currently using the one from the warranty. My husband's just cracked and I need to see about replacing it. We both would prefer to have the case and screen protector combined. Purchasing two items (case and screen protector) that are more expensive than what use to be one product is off putting. To us, it misses the mark. However, it's the product we are most comfortable using to protect our phones.

I love Otter products but...
I love otter products, and had very high expectations for this screen protector. It is crystal clear, and appears to fit well. When it is on the phone, by itself, it is ok, but not very sensitive around the edges but when it is in the case, you just about have to punch the phone to get the screen to react to commands. Making a call and texting is difficult because the amount of pressure on each area of the phone has to be different and is slow. I thought there was a problem with the phone, but when I took the glass off, the phone worked very well.

I purchased the glass together with a defender case, to get maximum protection for my S8. After installing the glass, I figured out, that the S8 did just react in the upper screen part, when pushing really hard and the sound was somehow sticky. The installation of the defender case made it even worse, that in the end (after 5min usage) the glass broke in the top part.
Hoping that I just got a bad part, I contacted the customer service and they sent me a new glass. Sadly this had the same problem, but before breaking it, I send it back.
Overall I am not happy with the alpha glass and the return policy in case of defect articles (they do not refund the shipping costs for the return), but the defender case just works fine.

Fitted this to my phone and could not put the protective case on as the screen protector kept detaching from the phone screen and eventually broke. Not happy with the brand of screen protectors as I didn't have any luck with the Samsung S7 screen protector as well. Just wasted my money.

Works Great
I bought my phone on Monday with a case from the Sprint store but I had to get the screen protector in the mail because they didn't have any in stock. So I received the protector today and went back to the Sprint store to make sure it was put on correctly. The guy in the store was noticeably having issues with the screen working correctly at first. In the store it seemed to work fine but once I got home I was having major issues using the key board! Some buttons wouldn't press at all while others I had to push super hard to get them to work. When I took my case off the buttons worked just fine but when I put the case back on the screen protector popped off! I went back t the Sprint store they replaced my screen protector and we tried using an tter Box case instead and the screen protector works flawlessly with the otter box defender case! This is why I give it 4 stars you must buy a case from Otter Box or it is useless!

Once installed, and yes it was done to perfection, i lost all sensitivity on the left side of my screen. I have yet to use my new phone that i purchased over a month ago due to waiting on a replacement alpha glass. 2 weeks and counting on the warranty item.....

Not happy with Alpha Glass Screen Protector
I bought with the Otterbox appropriate for my phone from the Otterbox website 2 weeks ago. When I put the case and glass together according to instructions the glass reduced the sensitivity so badly that i could not use the phone. I had to remove it in order to use apps, type or swype, and all other actions. I reported this to Otterbox who said they would send another. It will arrive in another 3 weeks.

It protects the screen just fine, but in turn, you cannot press
any part of the screen to make contact. It has to be a super
hard punch, and then it sometimes works, but mostly not.

Better then the Gadget Guard brand I bought with the case . The Gadget Guard one shattered when it was placed with keys in pocket and didn't fit under the otter box case so it was easy to remove.

It's okay.
I honestly would only recommend it for those who have a deadly fear of scratching their phone screen. It's not really sensitive at all. I have to push down in order to do anything. I honestly kinda want a refund too because a few days after putting it on it popped out of the case (I have the otter box black case for my phone) and shattered. Really disappointed.

Good protector
Bought a month ago. Lovely and smooth feel. Phone feels more solid. However I have to press quite hard on left side to display, particularly letter A. Not sure why this is happening as working perfectly otherwise.

Glass Protection not worth Functionality Loss
Purchased Alpha glass because it was the Same company as my Galaxy S8 protector case. Have used Otterbox products in the past and have had good experiences. installed glass per instructions but glass kept coming up on the edges of the screen. Sensitivity lost required much harder pressure. After a few days noticed crack in the corner of the glass and at that point removed the glass. Phone operates much better without the glass.

I really didn't want to spend $45 on my screen protector. I bought a cheap one first, but after a few weeks it started falling off every time I dropped it. So I figured I would pony up, get the expensive otterbox alpha glass. As soon as I put it on, I noticed the touch sensitivity was off. I had to push hard for it to recognize, which hadn't happened with the cheap one. About a week in, I notice dust under it on top, so I take my case off, press the alpha glass on really well, put my case back on. The touch sensitivity is much better, for about a day. Then back to not so good. (I've done this a few more times since. ) The top won't stay attached, I'm not sure if the case (otterbox as well) is getting underneath it. But at this point there is so much dust under, when I'm using it for maps when I'm driving, and the sun is shining on it, I can't see the map behind the dust.

Poor Reactive Touch Performance
Have an Otter Box case for my Galaxy S8 and love it. Got the Alpha Glass screen protector for it and took it off after 5 days. The reactive touch was spotty and soon became too frustrating to continue using it. Don't know if its the curved edges that give the screen protector troubles or what. But a waste of $50.

Very strong but incompatible with phone case-broke
I bought this screen protector because it was listed as being compatible with the Otterbox case that I use. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite a perfect fit because it got slightly torqued by the rubber membrane of the phone case and shattered. This occurred while I was simply trying to operate the phone. This is also a very strong protector as I had trouble operating my phone and texting after I installed it. I would have to let my finger pause over an icon or press firmly to get the screen to acknowledge my selection. It made texting a frustrating endeavour. I don't want to rate this poorly, as it seemed like a strong screen and overall I like Otterbox products. This was just not the right product for the case or for me.

Touch registry terrible
I purchased this in need of a screen protector along with my otter box case. I cleaned the screen and did as the instructions said. The touch registry was terrible, more on the bottom 3rd of the screen. So i thought maybe the screen hadn't made full contact on the adhesive side. So i gave it a slightly firm press because i wanted the touch registry to be fixed and working. In the end, I ended up cracking the glass unfortunately down near the bottom left corner so i just removed and threw it away. Not a good screen for the Samsung Galaxy S8, I'll have to count my losses.

I wanted it to work.
I ordered a new otterbox case because I have had great luck with them in the past. I was uneasy with their new "screenless" cases and wanted to extra protection of a screen cover so didnt hesitate to order the alpha glass that was designed to "fit perfectly". Unfortunately, it did not. I couldn't get the glass to sit properly so my case could actually close completely and then couldn't use the touchscreen on my phone due to the bending of the glass outwards when I finally did get it to close. Multiple adjustments later, I still couldn't get it to fit properly and then it finally broke on my last attempt to make it work. This could possibly be user error but I dont believe it was. I recommend the cases highly! But not the alpha glass...

I installed the screen protector as described and was using an otterbox defender case for my s8. Well the screen protector cracked in my pocket in under 2 weeks with only the phone in my pocket. Very unhappy with its durability especially since I always put the phone in my pocket screen towards my leg to make sure nothing hits the screen through my pocket.

Too Thick to Work
I purchased this Screen Protector because the case for my phone did not have one. It fit perfectly in conjunction with the case but when trying to use my phone I had to press incredibly hard to get the phone to operate. Typing was slow and the phone was not very responsive. Ultimately I had to remove the p screen protector so the phone would function.

Not happy with Screen Protector
I installed the screen protector on my Galaxy S8 as directed. After installation the touch screen became very hard to activate with my touch. I finally had to remove the touch screen just to get my phone to operate by touch as it should. I'm not sure of the problem, but it may be a small void between the phone screen and the protector.

Doesn't fit well with otterbox commuter case
I put the screen protector on my phone about a week ago. It was easy to put on. It does not work well with my otterbox case, even though the website says it does. I followed the directions for putting the case back on and it just doesn't fit well. I lose some sensitivity in the very top of my touch screen making it difficult to use apps or websites with anything in that part of the screen.

I can't complain about the glass because i had received it for free. however, it did not fit on my phone with the otterbox folio case.
As soon as i put the phone back into the case the glass popped off the phone.

Going well so far
I got this glass protector along with the defender case when I got my new phone a few weeks ago. It came promptly, went on easily, and feels good to use. I've had the odd drop and bang with it, and a determined attack on the screen by one of my cats, and so far its flawless. Considering my last phone screen broke within a fortnight, I'm rather pleased with it.

Issues with adhesive
I bought this item a few weeks ago, applied it to my phone as per instructions and even watched a video to make sure I did it right. I keep having issues with it lifting slightly affecting the responsiveness of the phone. I don't know if this is an issue with the adhesive or with the edges getting pushed by the case or something. It does protect my screen but is irritating.

Bought Alpha Glass with the Defender Case. Alpha Glass made my touch screen unusable. Touch was no longer sensitive to touch. I watched the video on how to install and I did it correctly. 1 week in and the top corner of the glass had come away and cracked. Had to throw it out. Cost me over €30, I might as well have put the money in the bin.

I bought it and installed it with ease. My only first experience with this product. It performs well, not as well in sunlight. Very hard to see through when outside. Did not have this issue with another brand.

Made touchscreen obsolete
The protector doesn't let the phone feel my fingers touch in a more head to take it off and throw both of them away because it made my phone useless. Try looking in settings for amaze to make it feel more but was unable to.

Does not work as advertised
I bought one and applied it to my Samsung S8. Within two weeks is became lose and made typing anything on the screen impossible. I then purchased another one thinking that I had bad luck. That one was great for 3 weeks before it loosened up and made the touch screen unusable. Not a fan of the Alpha glass.

Great protection
This is my second cover in a few months, had to replace the last one as it did it job, spilt a pint of water on my phone, cover did its job, phone was not damage, no point buying a cheaper cover, this is the one that works. money well spent.

I bought this item for my husband. I put it on exactly how the directions say and put his otterbox defender case over it. Within a day dust and dirt got underneath the glass. By day 3 the dust prevented him from being able to use buttons correctly. I told him to take it off and so i could return it. It shattered into peices when trying to take off.

Glass Broke During Installation
I bought this screen protector for my wife's Galaxy S8 Smartphone recently to match her Otter Box case previously purchased through the website. She followed the instructions included with the glass but the thickness of the glass and the phone made installation of the phone plus the glass VERY TIGHT into the phone case. As a result, the Alpha Glass cracked in multiple places along the left side during installation. She is very disappointed. I volunteered to purchase another screen protector but she doesn't want anything to do with the glass. Otter Box came highly recommended to us by our youngest daughter who is very rough on her phone. She has had the phone screen replaced multiple times prior to purchase of an Otter Box case and Alpha Glass. So sad.

just never really connected to the phone
I cleaned and wiped and then placed it carefully, but even when i didnt have a cover, it was hard to push and for the phone to recognized my movements, and then when i added the cover, it seemed to push it up ever so small so then it never recognized my movements.

Very disappointed! So sad, I have alot of my devices on otterbox defender cases. One of the things I liked the most was that I didn't have to spend extra money on a separate display protector. I hate the fact that otterbox took that feature away on the galaxy 8 defender case. To top it off, the alpha glass, is a horrible product, for such a steep price. It doesn't fit the screen properly, the case didn't clip back on correctly and I couldn't work my phone properly; had to push down on the screen super hard. Took it right off. So SAD!

As alluded to in some other reviews, using the alpha glass screen protector with the OtterBox Defender Pro Cases leads to some compression of the screen protector at the edges which I think causes a slight gap to form between the screen protector and the screen. The result is that many touches do not register or register incorrectly on the keyboard. This in turn leads to having to press very hard on the screen to type, swipe, or otherwise use your phone. I am keeping it on the protect my screen, but I am very disappointed with the outcome of my purchase and it really bothers my fingers after prolonged use.

Bought 2 screens. First broke because OB did not send their special holding tools. Second the wrong size even though I bought the exact same item. Tried to make it fit but it cut my hand. Cases fine but most important part-- screen-- is worse than worthless trash. Not possible to contact customer service "due to COVID."

Doesn't fit phone properly
I use an Otterbox strada case and after my old screen protector has had wear I decided to buy a new fresh one by Otterbox. It doesn't fit on phone to allow it back in the case, even though on the pack it says 'Precision cut for Otterbox cases'!! Waste of my time, returned at my own cost, and now without protection on my screen. I've ALSO damaged my case trying to fit the phone in with their screen protector, it doesn't fit. I've complained to customer service and they have flogged me off saying it doesn't fit in their strada cases.
My experience is very poor with Otterbox and do not recommend this product or their customer service.

The Alpha glass looks awesome but can trap air and reduce screen responsiveness. It also does not fit the Defender case as advertised and cracked on the edge. However, the Defender case is still the best! OtterBox was of course awesome and promptly refunded my money for the Alpha glass.

Completely useless
I bought this a few weeks ago and followed the instructions exactly (Ive done multiple of these installments before) and the touch did not work on all the screen. I tried removing the protector and apply it again, several times but did make it better. This product is useless when the touch does not work. Do not buy.

Totally useless for Galaxy S8
This screen replaced a Spigen screen that preserved touch sensitivity, but was easily shattered.Unfortunately, the OtterBox screen is a fail. Even after making the adjustments recommended on the OtterBox forum, the touch sensitivity is reduced to the point where it is impossible to operate the phone without forcibly stabbing at the screen. Why even sell this?

The Alpha Glass DID NOT allow me to use the screen for touch. I took mine off. My wife cracked the Alpha Glass trying to install it on her Galaxy S8+. DO NOT send a replacement, Alpha Glass is one of the worst purchases I have made.

The only screen protector available for my Samsung Galaxy S8 was the Alpha Glass. It was expensive! After applying the glass as instructed, the screen would not react to my touch. I had to press down -- hard -- on the glass. I thought that I installed it wrong, so I tried to peel it off and shattered it. The company QUICKLY sent me a new one, free of charge. (THIS IS WHY WE BUY OTTERBOX - BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!) I installed the new one, and it has the same problem. Because the S8 has rounded corners, the letters that are close to the corners cannot even feel my touch through the alpha glass. And the space bar! All of my words run together and I have to spend more time fixing all of my mistakes when I text. (Auto correct can't even figure it out!) I don't like it, but I need to have a screen protector. I am a busy, working mom and my phone falls out of my hand more times than I would like to admit. OtterBox, what else do you have for me?

Cracked within a week. Wouldn't buy again.
Bought this to fix my new Samsung Galaxy 8. It made it hard to push the send button when sending a text message because of the curve. I noticed a few days after having the Alpha Glass on the phone that it was cracked where the send button is. The crack has continued to grow over the past week.

Don't waste your money on this screen protector
The Galaxy S8 has rounded edges and needs a FULL ADHESIVE screen protector. Alpha Glass only has adhesive on the edges which leaves air gaps in the middle of the screen. The air gaps makes the touch screen unusable.

I bought this product and it fit my phone really well, but the screen is not responsive. I had to press the keys hard to get it to function. While pressing hard on my screen, it broke two days after I received it. Not worth the money.

I put the alpha glass on per instructions after watching the video several times. Then I put phone in defender case. By the time I was done, the glass was scratched, cracked and shattered..dissapointed! Also, shipping took 2 weeks.

I bought this and from the first day I hate it. When I tried to chat every letter near the curved part of the screen was impossible to do easily as it was before. I had to push hard to finally have them. After 3 days the glass broke and I take it off.
I asked for a replacement of my otterbox case before I bought this glass and I never received it. The website is not useful to have help on this. So I'm gonna find another type of protective case and shield for my phone I think.

I bought the apple glass to go with my screenless otterbox. I am highly disappointed. It is very difficult to type, scroll or click apps through the glass. I have to press very hard and over and over in order for it to work. Very disappointed with this product.

I have bought Otter products ever since I had the first generation IPod in 2005. that being said I am no dummy with applying all of these top grade products correctly to my devices. Unfortunatly with this glass screen protector, the glass only stuck onto my screen for 1 week on my Samsung Galaxy S8. It first started with a few air bubbles under the top half of my protector, then grew to the point where I could no longer use my phone due to the space in between my protector and my phone screen. I love Otter products and will still continue to purchase them, although I am still dissapointed in the fact this protector did not fit/stick to my screen.

I have had 3 of these now for the Galaxy 8 (having used Otterbox products for my G4 and am happy that the drops that broke the screens didn't harm the phone's actual glass. The biggest issue is the curved edges, which, of course, is a Samsung design mistake.

I bought both the screencover and an otterbox cover for my new S8. I hadn't purchased the screen cover before but was always happy with previous phone covers from otterbox, thought this would impress similarly. Unfortunately the screen cover already has a crack, even with the OB cover on to protect.

This is my second time having to replace. First time it cracked on installation. Next time crack appeared less than 2 weeks installed. I use a defender case and always carry it with full hard cover clipped inside my pocket. Older models such as s5 defender case with built in screen protection was bullet proof. Wish that option was available for s8. I always purchase otter box cases for my phone and my sons and my partners. My partners j3 has same problem with so called screen protector alpha glass. This product is a waste of money. Even thou otter box replaced first time and issued inatallation tools which where worthy but still alpha glass has not lasted 2 weeks :(

Protector Screen IS NOT compatible with Defender.
OtterBox has attempted to create a case that is compatible with a Protector Screen by allowing for the case to lap over the edges of Protector Screen. When you purchase the Defender case, the recommended article is the Alpha Glass Screen Protector. This leads to the belief that the Screen Protector is compatible with the Defender case. When searching for cases for the S8, every local vendor told me that Protector Screens for the S8 typically do not allow cases to entirely close around the phone because of the extend to which the Protector Screen protects the Edge screen of the S8. I wrote to OtterBox and questioned this. The response received was direct: "Since the Defender Series is screen-less the Alpha Glass will be compatible with the Defender Series." (Customer Service Incident 25493572.)
Unfortunately, this is not entirely true.
THE PROBLEM is that the edges of the the OtterBox case and the Protector Screen are so close together that the edge OtterBox case will occasionally slip below and fasten on the edge of the Protector Screen. This happens most often when attempting to put on the outer rubber protection, which requires placing pressure on the plastic part of the case in order to drag the rubber protection over the edge of the plastic case and into the proper place around the edge. When the edge of the plastic case slips below the edge of the Protector Screen, it fastens and creates a continual stress on the Protector Screen. When pressure is then applied to the screen, IT FRACTURES, usually starting with a run in the glass.
My Protector screen is now fractured, and I must CONSTANTLY check to see that the edge are of the plastic case has not slipped and fastened onto the edge of the Protector Screen. At a combined cost of nearly 900 SEK (93 USD, 84 EUR), this is ABSOLUTELY INEXCUSABLE.
OtterBox should at the very least be willing to supply new protector screens to consumers every time this happens. But this does not fix the problem. OtterBox needs to recall one or both products and reimburse the consumers for the defective design. OtterBox also needs to go back to the drawing board and create a compatible design where there is sufficient distance between the edge of the plastic part of the Defender case and the Protector Screen to prevent the possibility of the edges slipping and fastening on each other.

I bought this with the slim fit otter box case, thinking it would be designed to fit together, but it was not. Impossible to type or play games while using the case and the screen protector. Decided to keep the case, which is amazing, but toss this garbage screen protector. do not recommend.

Lasted one week
I had this protector on my phone for about a week, before it shattered. It was put on correctly and while I would use the warranty; there is not another option for the phone. So I decided to go with another brand.

Not good
I couldn't swipe my screen. The product didn't seem to fit correctly. When I tried to reposition it, it broke. I had only had it less than 2 weeks and I lost the money I spent.

I put it on easily then I put my phone case over it and it popped off, then it wouldn't stick anymore and shattered waste of money when you can get one for five bucks anywhere

Not as expected
Does not have the touch response i was hoping for, especially on the curves. will be replacing with something better

Worst purchase ever
As soon as it was put on the phone, it cracked while reading the instructions of how to properly place this on the phone.

Pointless
Couldn't press the buttons whatsoever once i put it on. Changing the touch sensitively on my phone helped none. Had to take it off right away and trash it

It broke
Prior to purchasing this, I chatted with a Otterbox case expert and asked if it would work with a case. I was assured that it would, so long as I applied the glass screen protector first and then the screen. I did that and the screen broke. THEN, what's worse, is I tried to reach out to Otterbox and there's like, no way to email or call them. I did the return but I still don't have my money back. I'm really irritated with this company, especially because I asked ahead of time if this screen would work with their case!

Alpha glass does not work
Glass fits the phone fine. But, the phone cannot sense my fingers through the glass. Had to remove it.

Waste of money
I was having a hard time finding a screen protector to work on my Samsung edge. Zagg was hit or miss. Took a chance with the Otterbox Alpha Glass and was disappointed. The edge apps were no longer accessible and I had to finger punch everywhere else on the screen. I reached out to support and they basically said buy a new phone. I will say the warranty process was very easy. When the replacement arrived, there was also an applicator included which didn't come with the first screen. It didn't matter. Although the protector seemed to attach marginally better, the edge function still did not work and I still had to finger punch the rest of my screen.

Broke immediately
I had this sten protector installed at the verizon store. 3 days after being installed, my phone was in the center console of my truck picked it up and the screen protector was cracked. I did not drop the phone. Appears to have shattered from the heat in my truck. Will not buy anything from otterbox again.

Horrible
I bought this about a week ago. I cleaned the glass and put it on. Almost immediately it started lifting on the bottom left corner. I have to push hard to register doing anything on the left side. Then it started cracking. In 4 days it looks like it's been on for a year. I ordered a different protector from a different company. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Frustrating to Type
This was a replacement screen protector. It is a major struggle to type/make contact with the keyboard. I thought getting it from Otterbox (where I get all my cases would be a better bet than Amazon. I'm afraid trying another might damage the Otterbox case (last one I have)-the clips crack too easily when you try pop them open, rendering the frame useless. Very distressing. Hoping for a new phone's release date so I can start fresh.

Doesn't let touches through
Sure, it's very easy to install. However, it's so thick that the touch screen is useless unless you press over and over, very hard. Biggest problem is it can't be used with the case my teen wants to use (smart marketing move, I guess??, the edges pop up. Want to return but I can't get a response. I've been using OtterBox products for years, extremely unhappy with this one.

Bought one put it in defender case corner cracked you replaced it .I put in the 2nd one 2 days later cracked on the side .
