Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would buy again. Well designed with a nice fabric design. Perfect fit and covers my iPad 2 very well. I gave this 4 stars only because the fabric on the back doesn't stick to the case well. It's coming off. Other than that it's a great sturdy case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost a great case I like almost all aspects of this case for my iPad3, except that the groove for the lowest standing position does not hold the iPad in place. Other higher standing positions are OK as long as I don't push the iPad too hard. I see some reviewers have problems with this but some don't, indicating there are manufacturing inconsistency. If this problem was fixed, you'll have a winner. I gave only 3 stars because I found myself tend to use that particular standing position the most!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice mix of style and security I am a bit of a clutz, so I have to protect my electronics from myself. I have an Otterbox on my iPhone, but really didn't want anything that clunky on my iPad. I looked at every case or cover I could get my hands on and picked this one because it seemed like the best mix of functionality, protection, and style. I'm very glad that I looked at this website because I was folding mine incorrectly for typewiter mode. Thanks for the photos and video that showed how to keep it from sliding! My only complaint would be that I've only had the case for about a month and the faux leather is already getting nicked up in a few places and the white under the pretty red is shining through.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ehhhh.... Looked good, and the price was good. However, after a couple hours outside in the heat, the cover started to warp. I don't mean 115 degree heat, I mean 80-90s. Warped and was never straight again. Snaps that held the top left corner in place also failed, so that corner falls out. Currently looking for a replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Minnesota I love the case, but when I tried to use the camera connector I had to take the IPad 2 out of the case to connect because the opening allowed was not large enough for it to completely fit to make the connection. It needs to be angled just a little bit more so that it will fit all the way in. You would think the design team would have tried to fit apple's accessories to make the product better. Seems so far that they got the rest right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost a great case (part 2) Looking at the grooves and ""feet"" mechanism, I'd suggest that this can be improved without making the groove deeper (which would increase the thickness of the cover). The feet as of now extends from the iPad holder in parallel. So when the angle of the iPad (so is the holder) is tilted at a low angle as in the case to stand in the last groove, the feet is laid against the groove at the same low angle which does not provide enough friction, therefore it slides out easily. If the feet itself is changed to extended from the holder at an angle so that when the iPad is at this low angle position the feet fits into the groove at the right angle that provides maximum friction, then it would be much more stable. The other higher angles really don't matter because they are pretty stable either way.

After too many drops and knocks off the table to count, the iPad still has the original screen without any damage. Just purchased the case for the third time in preparation for another trip. Great value.

The cover clicks shut which is great when dropping it in my work bag, nothing scratches the screen. It has a nice texture so it's easy for me to hold and not feel slippery. I really love the prop feature so I can pull up me books or recipes. I'm planning to buy another one in a different color. Love this case!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My third fit folio case I bought my original case (black/white plaid) 2 years ago when my iPad 3 was brand new. Got it for $40 at Best Buy. Loved it so much that a year later, when it started getting pretty dirty and fraying , I went online to get another one. That one (purple plaid) has also gotten dirty and fraying after a years use, and one corner of the plastic did chip off .... But I like the features of it so much that I've again purchased another one. This time...since the ipad3 is an older version....the prices for the cases are drastically reduced. I haven't even bothered to look at any other brand or style of case. I love the fit folio features and the way it fits and protects my iPad. I would recommend it for sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this but there are some flaws... I bought this case in August '12 and have been using it on my iPad every day. As a whole, the case has held up fairly well although there are a few flaws. Similarly to the other reviewers, I have noticed the snap corners have become weaker. Luckily, none of the corners have broken (which have actually cut/hurt people wrists while using the iPad) but they have changed shape. My iPad still fits in the case although it looks like it's not a perfect fit. The strength of the case is very frustrating. After only a few months, The ""spine"" and the back of the case have became immensely flimsy and my iPad would occasionally fall down when I had it in the standing position. It still stands although isn't sturdy which putting cardboard in those spots could easily fix. The most disappointing thing though is that the fabric frayed in the first few months and actually peeled up in one corner. For $40, this case should be stronger and more durable yet I think I will purchase another one in August for the new school year. The little faults in this case don't bother me too much but I did want to mention it. I've glued down the fabric so it's ok but I really wish it was stronger. My iPad hasn't been handled roughly but I still haven't had any cracks or shatters so it protects the iPad wonderfully without being so heavy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good case, needs minor improvement Loving everything about this case except for (as a couple of others have mentioned) the cord/clasp arrangement. I'd re-design the closure band to be either slightly thicker, have some sort of small tab on the elastic in the middle (it's a bit fiddly to unhook the band - I've just looped a small piece of Scotch tape to give me something to 'pull'). I'd also consider putting a small 'notch' in the centre of the plastic hook that holds the elastic band when shut (again, just to make it a little easier to unlock the band). I also bought a Speck cover for my iPhone 4. Just seen that they do flip ones to allow docking. D'Oh! If only my local retailer had stocked those! Phil

After reading the questionable reviews about the PixelSkin case, I decided to try this case in the pink with white/black print. It fits well and offers full protection. It is a good deal (same as the smart cover) and looks really cute to boot. I like that it stays closed so I don't have to worry about it getting scratched when I put it in my bag. It also keeps the screen cleaner than the smart cover (the smart cover leaves lines where the creases are). The only weakness I see is that the shallowest viewing angle isn't very secure -- it likes to slide. However, this isn't really a big deal to me. Basically, you get twice the protection as a smart cover and a much cuter, solid design. Great case!

Really like the grooves on the bottom flap, so you can prop up the screen (previous cover I had didn't do that, and it would slip). I do wish that the case came over the edge of the screen. While it looks really nice to have the screen exposed, I feel like just one fall to the floor might crack the screen. Not sure if this is a design change or if I inadvertently bought a different model, but I think all products should protect the screen edges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent buy I purchased this at Walmart after looking at the quality. Honestly, It's been over 4 months and the case stands up to anything, it also fits perfectly. Sometimes when I drop the ipad on the bed and it boujnces, the bottom part of the case comes loose from the front and I have to click it in, but hey your not supposed to drop the ipad anyway. This case is not for rugged use, it's to protect the device from scratches andaccidenatl bumps, not to drop. If your going to treat your ipad poorly then this is not the case to buy, invest in something more durable. The cord is flimsy and will break after use, but I never use it so it's intact, why do you need a cord for? The origianl case designed for Ipad by apple did not have a cord, why should you need one for this device???

A lot of companies move on to the latest and forget the older models, Speck hasn't. Love the added features of the new case, keep up the good work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flimsy cover-Shallow divets I bought the black case and overall like the concept however there are two critical issues I have with it The flip cover looks like it is made of cardboard and is fairly flimsy. After two days use, the edges are forming ""wings"" and bending away from the iPad when it is closed. I am having to bend them back down occasionally. As others have noted the divets to hold it as a stand are not very deep at the shallowest angle. I have so far not been able to have stay put at this angle. I think this may also be related to the flimsy cover. I like the design but I am overall disappointed by the quality of the product. I travelled overseas with it so I am unable to return it. If I could I probably would.

Kind of I have had this case for 4 months and the two bottom corners have broken (but that was because it was sitting in the back seat of a car when said car driven by a relative rear ended a truck at a stoplight). It still stayed in the case so I decided a could still use it. Then recently I dropped my iPad on tile floor and its still in good shape (as in no cracks on the screen, which is all I'm worried about). But, when I dropped it the piece of plastic that the elastic wraps around to keeps it closed broke off so my case no longer closes properly. So if you aren't rough with your iPad like I am with mine (I use mine daily for school), this could be a good case for you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ehhhhh..... I bought this case for my brand new ipad4 after lotsa of online browsing and hemming and hawing over which one to get. The cover itself is really cute, lots of designs to choose from, personally chose the forest frolic green. Love it. The movie viewing angle works pretty well, although you definitely have to use it on a flat surface. This does not work on your lap, it will fall flat. Now, for the true design flaw, and the reason I am returning it- the typing stand. It just doesn't work, on a flat surface or not. I thought maybe I wasn't doing it right, no I was.... It just falls flat every time, negating the purpose of having a typing angle in the first place. However I contacted speck about this and they were very nice, and reminded me it was still able to be returned using my per paid shipping label that I, of course, threw out immediately upon receipt. I asked them to send another one, we'll see if they'll do that. I plan on purchasing the mag folio lounge which has a little hinge that should take care of my issue.

The last groove isn't deep enough to stay but I find it easier to type/watch in the other setting by flipping the cover towards the outside instead. The latch isn't hard to open and close and the magnetic closure has worked perfectly! Loveeee it!!

I mistreated this case in the beginning not realizing that the white material and light aqua lining under the cover would get dirty so fast. I would love more designs because I've wanted to buy a second case to alternate and haven't found one I like as much as my birdie one. I love the way it fits over my ipad. I have another zip case for my bigger purses and hate that it has those little elastic corners to secure the ipad. My Speck case fits it like a glove. I Highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Serves the purpose This is my 4th Speck Fit Folio for my iPad 3rd generation. I purchased the original in a store when I first got my iPad. I've gotten two subsequent ones direct from Speck under their one year warranty. The first time the frame cracked in one of the corners. The second it was because the material on the inside started wearing away and left black specs on the face of my iPad. This last one I purchased directly because the iPad cover got very dirty and wouldn't come clean with spot cleaning and again one of the corners cracked. I continue to get these covers because I do like the versatility and now that my iPad is a few years old there are not many choices in replacing the cover. I do wish however they were more durable.

But... the new one fell apart just as quick. The decorative cloth's glue comes undone no matter how well you care for it! And the finish on inside of the case wrinkles and peels off within a month...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Step Down from FitFolio for iPad 2 The FitFolio for iPad 2 was *hands down* the best case I'd ever used for that device. So when I got my 3rd gen iPad I went straight for that version of the FitFolio but after several days returned it. The cover started warping a little on the corners, but I could have lived with that (it was very slight). But when standing in ""movie watching position"" on the lowest two angles the iPad would ""slip out of the grooves"" and fall flat. The grooves need to be deeper or the piece that goes into the groove needs to be sharper. I'm disappointed because after loving FitFolio for iPad 2 so much, I figured Speck was the place to get all future cases. too. I heartily recommend FitFolio for an iPad 2 -- but for the iPad 3? Not so much. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do not buy The I bought this case when it first came out for the New IPad. It looks nice and felt sturdy. Now only a few month later it is falling apart. Two of the corners have chipped making the iPad barely stay attached to the case. The case has 4 cut outs to hold the iPad at an angle, the one closest too you doesn't hold the iPad up. So that slot is useless. The other three don't hold the iPad sturdy enought so it tends to fall.

The horizontal open position slots do not always hold the tablet in place. It's definitely not worth the money I paid for it. It will protect my iPad as well as any other case.

I have never dropped it, but suddenly the corner plastic just broke off as I was using it. I did keep the receipt, so I am hoping for an exchange...we'll see. Since I have to pay postage to get it to them :( , I'm not sure if it will be worth it. I like the smart feature, the non-bulkiness, and the snap shut. It served my purposes well, until it broke. Disappointed to hear that others have had the same problem. Time to develop a stronger plastic?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Case For the iPad 2 The FitFolio really is the best case for the iPad 2. First of all, the price is roughly the price of the Smart Cover. So for roughly the same price, you get the same functionality with more protection. The build quality is superb for this case. It's very sturdy and when you first get it, you can tell right away that this product isn't cheaply made. I can tell you right now that if you own a Smart Cover, the difference in quality is huge. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Protective Case For Older Generation (2, 3, 4) iPads Great case option for older generation (2, 3, 4) iPads. Perfect fit, great protection, secure closure, and flexible display angles. Only design problem for me is the protruding closure clasp design makes laying the case open on a hard surface not possible, or awkward at best (-1 star). Still works fine on soft surfaces (e.g. carpeting) or holding on my lap as the protruding clasp isn't in the way. Overall I'm happy with the purchase for the clearance price I paid. I don't think I would be so happy paying full price and would probably be looking at other competing options that didn't have the protruding closure clasp design.

It looks really good in person and it fits perfect. I really like the on/off when you close and open the front flap. Overall, it's a great case for the price and the quality is great. I would highly recommend this case!

I have to buy another because the two of the corner snapping pieces have broken off after about 8 months, but I don't mind at all. The case I have still works great, but I really wanted a black(not red) originally. Also, sensibly priced for once.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from too small..? the case is nice. nicer than the pixelskin. that being said, it appears that the cover flap doesn't fit the screen. as if the case were too small. i also wish that the back of the ipad was completey covered. i personally attached small adhesive velcro circles to the back of the ipad and to the flap so that when i want it in book mode, it doesn't flop all over the place. not a bad case, but between a junkie toy case and a case that looks like a guy... i guess i'll have to settle. but hopefully not for too long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best case available I had the original fitfolio case for the iPad 2. I went through trying several cases before deciding this one was best. Everyone has their own criteria when purchasing a case, but if you are wanting the perfect balance between weight/thickness and protection, it does not get any better than the fitfolio. My only complaint with the previous version was the clasp and the abbsence of the magnetic wake feature; both of which have been resolved with this latest model. I can't wait to receive my fitfolio case and finally give my new New iPad some protection!

The inside cover looks terrible! The price was right, but the workmanship is not! I would not recommend this product!

It's a great combination of high function and low profile while providing enough protection to carry around in my purse. As othrs have mentioned, I'm concerned about how long that elastic bungee will last, but it's fine so far. The only caveat for this case is that it is great in landscape mode, but I haven't found a way to use it hands-free in portrait mode. Since I don't do much in Portrait mode it's nbd to me. This is my third speck case and they've all been great. Keep up the good work!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broken after couple of months I bought Speck cover from the HQ in Palo Alto. It is very usefull. Very easy to use, elegant, thin, etc. However, after a couple of months time, the top left and bottom left holding plastics are broken. iPAD is still inside the cover but now shaky and feels it will drop in a way. Very low quality in plastic corners unfortunately ! Speck should improve the plastic corners of this model case. I don't know if I can return it and ask for a rebate or replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great until the elastic band broke This is a great case - it's slim and snug and protects the iPad on several levels, but I knew in the store that the elastic band was its weakness and that proved correct. Even with TLC, the band broke after about three months. I still like the case very much, but now there's no way to lock it shut. Please improve the elastic band situation and you have a definite winner on your hands!

That said, I did want something on the lower end of the price spectrum with respect to an iPad case/cover. Also, I wanted it to be slim yet functional; this product has meet and exceeded my expectations. The only reason it's not getting five stars all around is because the value would have been higher is the price was lower. The quality is good but not great as there is some glue/stitching that is showing on the back of the cover where the ""leather"" meets the plastic. Price was three stars because it should be anywhere from $15 - $19. I purchased it because it was one of the lowest priced options. Overall I'm satisfied with this purchase.

(mine had some of the stitching pulled up which soon unraveled soo mines kinda useless but after seeing my sisters i know this case is amazing and it was just a fluke. ill just get another one)but it is amazing! its simple and thin but gives a more ""full"" and just all around nice feel that most cases seldom provide. it has a decent hard shell with the elegant atmosphere of leathery exterior while still including a screen flap. (because i can never find a good case with protection for the screen without it just being a cloth pouch with a screen cut out-and a flap, just in my opinion i dont like them. and the seemingly good hard cases have just a cutout and no screen cover, but this is great!) this case feels very stable. the screen wake/sleep function and clasp work great! awesome for someone like me who forgets to turn off the screen. went to all the big electronic stores, two malls, and all over the interwebs and never found anything quite right, this ones awesome

I am actually a little irritated, as I am currently deployed on a ship in the US Navy and waited weeks for this to show up in the mail only to find that it looks more purple than grey. I have purchased a lot of iPad cases (1st gen and 2nd) and I have to say this would probably have been my favorite if it were the right color. Haven't decided whether or not I want to return it since it will take another couple of weeks for them to receive it then even longer for me to get a different color. Wish I had gone with the black or red, love the price though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Okay, for a while I have the iPad 3 & I have had this case for it for almost six months now. It has worked well, but one of the corners on the left hand side of the case(the corners holding it in) has cracked in two places. This causes it to pop off constantly. Also the fabric on the back was peeling off and I had to glue it back down. The fabric is also starting to come apart, causing strings to be sticking out. The front part is made of a thick cardboard material and it has been curling upward, leaving a gap between the case and iPad. All in all it is a good case, but only for a short term. Needless to say I will be getting a new one soon(not another of these). My mom has the iPad 2 and one of these cases but it fits a bit looser, but still fitting correctly. Hers is holding up better because she switches between a few cases, so I would recommend switching between cases to preserve the life of the case. I did like the case though while it was still nice, and it does protect the iPad well.

I was right and the fit is good as well. I was looking for full coverage of the back as well as all 4 sides, with adjustable viewing positions. This case has it all. The only limitation that I found is that the case cannot be folded back when taking a photo, which makes it awkward when taking pictures.

The color is great and the clasp is so much easier to open than the new Pixelskin skin I sadly had to return because of the fit. If you do not like the Pixelskin case, I think you will love this one. I'm going to pick up another color too :)

I got the black and white floral with th pink accent and it is rosetta attractive for a $40 cover! The top cover seems to be a little snug but I can close it and the magnetic iPad sleep function works well! The iPad clips in fine to the back and that part seems to be the correct size. I like that it keep the iPad svelte while providing protection that stays clipped in and covered. I definitely reccommend this cover for the price!

I wish the grooves were deeper and on the opposite side of the cover. I'm constantly repositioning my iPad to write or watch, because it falls over. I also feel like the case holds the iPad upside down. My last case had it the other way when opening, so I guess I got used to it that way. I'm looking for a new case, but this one is as close to perfect as I've seen so far. Wish I had the resources to create my own :)

Love it, but (predictably) the ""bungee cord"" closure broke after only a few uses. Some sort of Velcro tab closure would have been better, IMO. Still offers function, protection and style. I have not found that it puts the iPad to sleep (nor do they claim that it will).

The corners are tearing, fabric is coming off, and the areas wherethe case bendsare in terrible shape. Also, this case did not do much protecting of my iPad'scorners. I was so excited to get this case because hinestly it's hard to find cute, fashionable cases for the iPad. (there's much more variety for nook - which makes no sense since apple is much popular?) 1. Even without the iPad 3 actually inserted in there the case still doesn't close. There is like 1/12th of an inch gap from the snap closure to the actual case. I sent customer service an email about it and the representative told me that is the first he hears about this complain. 2. It smells like cardboard. If I am going to pay 40$ for a case I expect the materials to be above par. Soooo discontent with this product now I am back on a quest to find a good case for this thing....

The vinyl cracks and tears off at the top and bottom of the cover where it folds. On my second--2 months and it's all peeled off, again. Shame, Speck makes great stuff.

I expected to get the same quality, but this one isn't as good. The stand mechanism for the grooves is too thin, sometimes it isn't sturdy enough and the iPad falls, especially when on the lowest groove The case cover isn't as thick as the previous version, curling at the corners when held back for too long. Overall, I love Speck products and they have amazingly fast delivery, but I have gone back to the FitFolio iPad 2 case for my new iPad.

I like the way it feels with the ipad in it, but there are 2 major problems. #1 The awake/sleep magnets don't work #2 The flattest angle isn't stable unless it's on a flat table, even then, one touch and it falls over. #3 The cover is not flush with the top of the ipad I'll be returning this and waiting for the magfolio after all

My phone case (returned twice for the fabric) and this ipad case I have, both keep falling apart. Maybe go with one of their products that doesn't use their inferior glue.

The first one I bought didn't lay flat and the sleep/wake function wouldn't work on my iPad3 no matter what I did, so I took it back to the store. While there, they let me bring my iPad in and try a second FitFolio and it had the same problem as the first. The apple covers work fine on it, so why can't speck get this right? I'll wait for the MagFolio to come out (I'm hoping they are taking their time to get this one right), but if that doesn't work, three strikes, you're out! I've heard that speck was supposed to have some of the best cases out there, but so far, I'm not impressed.

I have recently thought about getting the Apple ipad case but have decided against it for now because it doesn't offer as many viewing angles as this case does. While this case does stand up when it is placed in the notches, it sometimes does fall. Also, I have it in the peacock color and the fabric on the inside cover became really dirty after a week of using it. I have tried cleaning it with multiple fabric cleaners and nothing seems to work. So it does look quite dirty.

I love the pattern selection and the clapse that offers a locked closure. The only down side about this product so far is that the inside lining cracked in the corners after a few days. But, I still enjoy it very much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fitting is a little off It looks awesome in red. Uber chic and put together. However, I find that my iPad doesn't fit as tightly as I would like it to. One corner looks like it would slide off if it wasn't for the middle piece that snaps on. It doesn't move around, i'll give it that but at the same time, when I purchase something, I like it to look like the pictures show. Not a big deal but if you're crazy about small things like these, I suggest carrying your iPad to you to wallmart and fitting it before buying it. Maybe this is only specific to this one piece.

The last slot doesn't really work, it just falls out. Kinda wish they were actual slots. Overall I love this product and would recommend it to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poorly designed case I bought a Fitfolio since it has a great looking design that is very slim. but the bottom corner clip area is not robust. It broke and would not stay in the case shell. I returned it within warranty and got another one. That one had the same problem - only this time out of warranty. That area of the case is weak and not a strong enough design. There are at least 3 other reports in these reviews on the site. This indicates a design flaw. The company has not responded to my request for a free replacement of a different case. Bad customer service for what used to be a loyal customer.

I have had this for almost 6 months now and my bungee cord is still in tact and holding strong. Not sure why some of the other reviews say their's broke after a month, maybe its just how you use it. I take very good care of my things. Love speck! My phone cover is a speck too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needs fine tuning I'm returning it for these reasons: Sharp edges keep scratching my wrists/hands; the snap lid now requires two hands to open (first model didn't); flimsy. I've bought the first model twice now and I like it at first but the cover softens and bows, so unless the iPad is sitting on a hard flat surface, it doesn't stay propped up anymore. And the two front corners break off after awhile, making the iPad not stay in AND they're now sharp and cut into my wrists. I love how thin and simple this cover is, but at $40 every few months, I'll be buying something else now.

But I'm not satisfied with the stand functions. It often slides out of the ""holding spots"" especially the first and fourth spots which may get annoying. When you're not using it as a stand it's a bit awkward to hold when you flip the cover back.

As a teacher, I look for a product that will last and I don't mind paying more for quality, but I do not think I got that with this product. When I first put my iPad 2 in it, it does not fit as snug as I would have expected. Now, only 10 days after I purchased this case, it does not hold it on the 1st 2 settings without falling down. I will be bringing it back to Kohls to get a different one and try again. Hopefully this is just a bad one and the next one is better.

Unfortunately, in less than a month, the two corners which attached to ipad cracked and no longer holds the device. After contacting customer service, their reply was #1, we can't do anything without a receipt (who saves these)- really? and #2 their resolution was ""we can give you a new case with 20% discount and free shipping"". Both poor examples of customer satisfaction! So if you want to throw your $$$$ out the window, buy this one. But, REMEMBER TO SAVE YOUR RECEIPT! you truly WILL NEED IT!

It's slim factor, it's flexibility, the bunge cord is still going strong and I open and close it several times a day. It is a little worn, but going strong. But I think it might be that I am careful with it. I have used the first slot to hold it out. the groove is not as noticable but it still works. I paid 26.88 at walmart and will buy another when this wears out.

After reading the reviews for the fit folio I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad that I did! Although this case isn't perfect it's a solid case. I have no problems with the fit whatsoever like others claim they do. The case fits my iPad perfectly. The clasp is also not a problem, in fact I enjoy the snap closure that it provides! What I love most about this case is that it is light weight (probably the lightest case that you will find) and still very protective. What I like least about the case is that while in typing view it can require quite a bit of adjustment before it stays on its own, this occurs maybe 30% of the time. If you are looking for a overall solid case that is lightweight and fashionable then this is the case for you!

I wanted something more professional than the orange and green smart covers I have - and also wanted backside protection as well. I'm not a huge fan of the elastic band, BUT I don't use it frequently anyways. Once it breaks (seems like it happens to everyone), I will just cut it off and move on. For future reference, it would be great if Speck could make the back plastic cover a little thinner. I hate using cases because they add some bulk. This case isn't bad in the bulk department, but sometimes, I hate using cases because I like to experience the thinness of my device. The price was great! I think I got it for $30 at WalMart. They now have the magnetic version, which I'd LOVE to have. Also, they now have a magnetic and leather version!! IN LOVE - but not for $99 bucks. Way too pricy for me. There's not that much leather used, come on. Price is more reasonably, please (like $50). Love me some Speck! :)

The NC State red stands out nicely aesthetically, but has served as a durable and functional case, as well. The elastic closure is also great when putting the iPad in a bag for securing the case closed.

When I returned from the trip, I removed the cover and left it off until two weeks ago, when I put it back on with the intention of traveling with it again. A few days after doing so, the plastic clip that keeps the case shut tore off the case itself. Examination shows that in an effort to make the clip more flexible, it's more or less perforated where it attaches to the case, allowing it to just ""tear"" off. Unfortunately, I don't have my Wal-Mart receipt from August, so I can't send it in for a warranty replacement. Pity; a wonderful case but the clip shouldn't tear of only what was only a few weeks of actual usage.

I haven't dropped my case so I can't vouch for the protectiveness but I've been using speck cases on my phone for years and it is my preferred case.

Although it is true that the case fails to sit up on the very last groove of the case due to the low angle, I don't mind it too much. I thought the case was going to be a problem at first though because when I originally tried it, the snap closure would pop open frequently. I noticed that all it took was a little realignment of the iPad into the holder to fix it. The iPad needs to snap into all four sides of the case so that the corners are flush. Once this is achieved, the lid will close nicely and will snap. Overall, this is definitely a great product. The sleep/wake function works flawlessly.

Unfortunately when I got the fit folio (peacock) I had to return it right away. As another reviewer mentioned, the latch just wouldn't close! And the material for the top part was flimsy. I was expecting something sturdier. Poor quality product.To put it in perspective- that is something you would pay $20 for. I had been waiting for speck to release the cases. I am really disappointed. I do appreciate them them for the quick delivery, and for sending a return label with the package. Also their customer service is outstanding. I wonder if I should wait for the magfolio or start looking elsewhere?

I couldn't figure out why suddenly my iPad was dying so quickly, even after charging all night. Then I realized it is never turned off. UGH! This is my third Speck case, and the other two were great. It's like that on my wife's also. It's almost like the magnet is 1mm to short. Secondly, if you open it up in book mode, the magnets will occasionally turn off the ipad from the backside. Finally, the mic cut out on top is slightly off. It's partially covered by the edge of the opening. This case has great potential, but it's off here and there. Now I'm in the market to replace it.

This case is very form fitting and adds a nice sleek appeal an an already beautiful product. Also, the plastic casing on the back puts me a little more at ease, as far as protection is concerned. My only issue is that you have the product listed online for $39.95. I purchased mine at Wal-Mart for $29.88 and there was obviously no shipping cost. Other than that, this is a wonderful product. Great job.

I had been looking for an attractive, sturdy case that didn't add bulk to my iPad 2 yet could effectively double as a stand for multiple viewing angles. This case is perfect and always holds its position (unlike Apple's smart cover). The bungee cord holds the case closed in either open or closed position - which the smart cover does not do. While I love the red, more color choices would be nice such as a deep purple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FitFolio 3 case I've been using the FitFolio 3 case for 6 months now. Speck needs to just make the FitFolio 2 fit the ipad3. The Fitfolio 2 was the best case out there. This new FitFolio case has an extra seam in the lid which makes your ipad slump back when watching movies. It also allows the ipad to bounce when I touch the screen. This new case is not nearly as sturdy as the fitfolio 2. The fuzzy layer inside the lid is coming unglued. The foot is either not long enough or the foot crevice is too shallow. In any case, the foot does not stay in place. The clip works fine to keep the case closed but the elastic band feature from the fitfolio 2 case was much more efficient because you could secure the lid backwards so it didn't flop around. I would forgo the magnet if I could get back the elastic band. I mean really, how hard is it to press a button to turn off your ipad? Speck, please make the original FitFolio 2 case fit the ipad3!

This cover enhances the functionality of the iPad by making it much easier to pick up and handle, propping it up for easier viewing + usage, and protecting it whether it's in use or not. It fits perfectly and does not obstruct any of the buttons, speaker, camera, microphone. or the charge port. Definitely worth buying, IMHO.

I have been trawling through numerous cases and found most of them falling in 2 categories: either too flimsy and unable to offer stable support for typing (along the likes of the Smart cover varieties); or cumbersome and heavy, which rather defeats the point of having a slim device. For a device as gorgeous as the iPad, it also seems afflicted by a horror of poorly designed cases. Despair was starting to set in, but mercifully, I found the Speck case. As another reviewer noted, it's not leather but the finish is good and doesn't feel cheap - as some synthetic finishes do. My only small grouse is that it comes in quite limited colours: black, grey and red. It would be great it the range was wider.

I love Speck cases for the numerous Samsung galaxy phones I've had so I figured I'd give them a shot when looking for a new case for my old school iPad 2. The case protects like you would expect but getting it to stand up as displayed in the pictures, good luck. Only the one notch keeps it propped up, and if you attempt to put in any other notch, it just collapses down. The fit of the case is ok but there are gaps which makes the case look junky and not as secure.

I ordered a black one from Amazon because they are on sale there and even with Prime shipping I wont be getting it for 10 days. The fitfolio seems like it will do the job just fine with lots of position options. A huge plus is the many great colors to choose from. I am very pleased. For $28, even if it doesnt last as long as real leather, its a good deal.

I also love how the red looks with my white iPad. Also, the case is very sturdy; it keeps its position in all of the various angles without sliding around or falling. The fit is VERY tight, so don't expect to use a skin on the back of your iPad with this case.

This case is ok but not quite the quality as the Folio. My main objection is the closure isn't as snug. Guess that's why Speck updated to the Folio.

The ipad snaps into the plastic edges and I love that it doesn't obscure the bezel like so many other cases. I purchased the ColorBar berry color and it's really cute. The on/off magnet feature works every time and I find that the grooves in the cover are deep enough to hold the ipad in position (I haven't had any problems with slipping). It's a little tricky to fold the cover back though as I feel that I'm not meant to bend it back completely, it feels a bit tough but maybe I need to break it in. Really wish the case wasn't pink, though since it distracts a bit from the screen, I would prefer a neutral gray color but given all the options, this one fit my personality most. I would definitely recommend the fitfolio and will consider purchasing another one that looks more ""professional"" =)

It cannot be repaired with super glue or any other method. Purchase your cover from another company.

The sleep wake function works perfectly but the cover will not remain securely closed/latched. Maybe it is just a manufacturing issue with his color. :-(

Although the design is top notch as usual, nice leather texture, neat plastic case (hate the bungee cord though), the little parts that hold the ipad at both top left and bottom left corner are broken after a month of usage. I tried to stick them back with superglue, but not for long until their broke again. Well, with ë£34 I paid for it, i expected it long lasted a bit more.

The corners are worn a little, but taking it in and out of my purses, that is to be expected. It is light and the elastic band that keeps it closed has lasted very well!

The stand doesn't work in the last groove as others have mentioned, but i'm not worried as it's at an angle that i probably wouldn't use. All the other grooves work very well. Made from good looking materials - especially love the soft inner lining. I would totally recommend this product!!

I had been using the Apple Smart Case which I liked, but it was starting to get slack for the typing angle. The rubberized surface was also getting grotty. When I found this one I liked the color and pattern and the fact that the iPad snapped into the shell and the boarder around the screen was not obscured. Folding the cover for typing took a little figuring out, but once I did, I like the typing angle better than the Apple case, it's considerably higher. More comfortable. I also like the fact that the cover has a snap closure and the sleep-wake function works as advertised. I had a problem with the Apple Smart Case front panel sliding open in my purse and turning the screen on. With the snap closure that issue is resolved. All in all, I like the case for its ergonomics as well as its cool looks.

What I was looking for was something slim, functional, protective, and at the same time did not add heft or distract from the ascetics of the iPad. After ordering and canceling more expensive models, I found this case as a local discount store and am very happy! I agree, that I'm not sure how long the bungee cord will last. I wasn't sure how I would like typing on the onscreen keyboard, but have found that this case makes it very easy to type even when the iPad is resting in my lap.

Throughout the year, after taking my iPad in and out of the case a few times, it started to crack along the corners until one day a couple of the corners completely broke off. Therefore, I can no longer use it. It was great while it lasted, I guess.

I bought the half tone plaid iPhone case and decided to get the half tone plaid iPad case to match after checking it out. I'm am super glad I did. It's a solid case. It's well built, stylish, has a wake sleep function that actually works and fully protects my iPad without adding way too much bulk. I also love how the ipad just clips right in leaving the front exposed. I love the design of the iPad and hated completely covering it up as with other cases. As far as others saying it is useless as a stand, I haven't had one issue. Mine sits perfect and sturdy as a stand. I've ran into my desk accidentally knocking things off of it leaving my iPad still standing. I highly recommend this case if you're looking for something stylish and protective without adding too much bulk. Plus it's just plain awesome.

It looks beat up after only 3 months of normal use. Whoever designed it didn't use it day to day. Would appreciate being sent a new folio of higher quality at no charge.

Whoever designed the product did a poor job with some details: the two corners that hold the iPad in position left and right have broken after 4 months of moderate and careful use. Either the choice of the plastic material was wrong or the designer did not give any thought to the strength of the corners. For an item that was designed for a class product from Apple, it is not what I expected. Speck better comes out with an improved design that can withstand a normal (not rough) handling!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I bought this ipad case one year ago and love it still. I have it in red and the color is nice and bright and hasn't faded. It protects the ipad very well, front and back. My favorite feature is the fact that it has multiple stand options for holding your ipad for easy viewing. It's not at all bulky but very streamlined. The edges have frayed abit but that is to be expected since I have had it for over a year and do use it often and carry my ipad almost everywhere in my purse. Overall I think it was a good purchase. I like it better than all the cases I've seen other people use and I WILL be buying another when this one finally gives out, probably no time soon though, it's pretty sturdy.

So many positions, nice finish in and out, very sturdy and I love the color (red). They come in a few different colors. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Case, but needs some rethinking I use a previous version of the Fit Folo case for my new iPad till the new version was avialable. New case has some very good points (like the snap as opposed to the elastic band to close and the sleep/wake functionality), but like other I am finding the grroves too shallow and the iPad tends to slip out a lot more often. Overall a very good case, but the stand angles really needs a revisit.

I was using Joy Factory for my ipad 2 and did not like it when I Skyped with it so I wanted to try something new for my new replacement new ipad. I thought of Speck* because I had the hardcase for MBA and absolutely love it. I bought the fitfolio for new ipad the day it was released and find the fit to be subpar. The corners are does not fit the corners perfectly especially when the charger is plugged in and it seem to be getting worse especially if the cover is folded all the way back or in an inclined position. I am very disappointed in its quality and would not recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect choice First impressions: I received the Apple iPad cover as a gift and wanted to replace it with a case that also covered the back. After far too much online & in-store searching for the best iPad case this is what I came up with. Got it today and so far I love it, it's the perfect choice. I got the red faux leather. Color is great, seems stable when using with the stand & it fits the iPad 4. The hard back cover snaps around the corners to protect them, but does not completely cover the back of the iPad. This doesn't bother me too much, because it is still protected by the leather part. I'd probably give it 5 stars if it did. Also It would've been nice to have the openings be specific to iPad 4, but they all seem accessible/work fine. Overall, it's a buy. And so far highly recommend it. Good price @ Walmart.

The few things I dislike about this case is that is not a smart cover, I could've gotten a smartcover case at the price I paid for this. And another one it's that the sides which hold the iPad in place can brake easily if you're one of those people that like to use their iPad without the case (i'm one of those people). But above all, good quality and design!

Overall I like this case. This case also wakes my iPad when opened and puts my iPad to sleep when closed.

I bought the marine blue and like the look over basic black especially withnmy white ipad. I have a Speck iPhone case that's held up well so knew Speck would be good quality. Am pleased with this product after trying another another case and spending quite a bit of time researching. It gets my vote :)

I love the sleek black color, and the protection that it provides to my device. Very Professional looking. I might even take this to work. Delivery was prompt and the item exact for my iPad . However this was easy to remedy by inserting a small rare earth magnet under the inside microfiber lining in the cover. Works great!

The paper the came with the product says it's made for iPad 2 and iPad 3 as many cases are. However, the two ipads are two different sizes and the back of the case is made of plastic. Plastic only has one size so therefore at least one of the devices is not going to fit properly in the case. The iPad 3 will go in the case and will be held inside it and the auto sleep wake feature works with it but the right side of the device sticks up and is unprotected and exposed. When you look down at it from the top you can clearly see that the back of the iPad is no where near being in contact with the back of the case. If I'm going to buy a case I expect it to properly fit the device it's allegedly made for. Will be returning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a little bit disappointed Pros: The snap closure does what it's supposed to. The sleep/wake function works. My iPad seems well protected. Cons: The grooves used to stand the iPad up aren't quite deep enough to keep the iPad from slipping - I'm using this on a flat surface and even the slightest amount of pressure when touching the screen can cause it to slip easily. I purchased this in Peacock and was a bit surprised at how different the colour was in person. I realize colours can vary from computer to computer, but this was really different...from the picture, it seems more on the toned down blue side, but in person, it has more green tones than blue. I'm still not sure if I like it... Overall, I'm a little disappointed as I've been waiting and waiting for Speck in particular to release their line for the new iPad. Still waiting for the other lines to be released, but I think I may look into other brands rather than focusing just on Speck because this waiting game is getting a bit old. :|

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very good choice I have been searching a long time for the right iPad 3 case and have tried some that were too bulky or didn't offer enough protection. This cae provides excellent protection like that of a quality cell phone case, love the protective cradle without anything to disconnect to use the stand. This case is also very sleek and shows off the iPad's bezel while still protecting the corners of the device which few cases do. The latch is sturdy and secures nicely the sleep wake function works flawlessly. The one minor issue I have with the case that prevented this tough critic from rating it 5 stars is while using it as a stand in landscape mode one of the 4 indentations to rest the plastic male end into to hold your viewing angle (the first indentation for the lowest viewing angle which would be most useful for typing and possibly games) is not deep enough and slides out instantly. This is the only flaw I found in an otherwise excellent case. Additionally the service I received from Speck products was excellent I ordered the case online on a Saturday and it was at my door on Monday across the country no less, that's what I consider efficiency.

Stumbled across this case for $30 at Wal Mart & now that I know how to properly use it in keyboard position I love it even more! Haven't had the issue with the bungee closure yet, although I am sure I will since most seem to have that break over time. However the case is protective & the bungee closure really isn't a necessity, some similar cases have no closure & work fine. VERY HAPPY with this case!

There is an elastic band that's use to secure the cover when you close it. This band seems flimsy from the start and broke in 2 weeks. It popped right out of the cover. I'd expect a but more in the way of quality when it comes to a $40 folder.

It's good protection but even after airing out I can't get rid of the chemical smell. It's embarrassing to use during a meeting people start asking what's hat smell?! I'm no longer using the case.

I have bought and returned cases which claim to fit or; in sales gimmick terms, 'compatible with' but sadly, none of them fits the new iPad as seamless as this case.. I guess if you are paying ë£ë£ë£ for the machine, why not invest abit more for the case. Also worth mentioning is the delivery time, dispatched on Monday, arrived at 930am on Wednesday, I live in London by the way, trans Atlantic service could not be any better than this. Exceeded all expectations. Well done!

Now after a couple weeks my wife has taped over the patched of surface and swept up the bits many times. I'd like to return this for exchange, but have doubts about the quality of a replacement.

The most shallow angle never held up from day one but the 2nd shallowest angle seems to be slipping more. unfortunately, it is now too late to return it. Thanks to the customer service rep who sent me the info to select the correct fitting item the first time. The colors choices were wild but I selected one that was on sale so that may have limited the choices. The cover is very sturdy and will hold the screen at different angles so will be very easy to use.

Ordered the FitFolio for iPad 2 since I really liked the FitFolio I had for iPad 1. This one feels more cheaply made - the leatherette seems less quality and some of the iPad 2's backside is exposed when in stand position. Also bungee closure seems flimsy. However, I like the way it fits around the iPad 2 ( it looks like it will play nice with my incoming screensaver) and it's low-profile and lightweight. I also like the way the stand works in multiple positions. Wish this case had smart cover magnetic capability, was constructed with same quality as first generation Fitfolio, and came in other interesting colors.

But when I called the customer service line they directed me to a distributor in my area who could order it for me. She loves how it holds the iPad and how the back is protected. Also doesn't add a lot more weight and bulk to the already thin form factor and while it might not protect it all that well from a large fall that is why you have SquareTrade for. For $40 and the other cases out there to date... you can't go wrong. I only wish they had more colors available to order but the red looks good on the white iPad 2.

Wasn't sure about the owl print but i love it and love that it turns off screen when i close the case. The only thing i would change is for the cover to just lay on top and not have to snap shut. But it's a great product and keeps my iPad safe from damage. That's the whole purpose.

The closure snaps shut and stays shut. I have used it in every position- stand up for videos, folded under for typing, and folded all the way back for browsing. I also love the pattern, colors, and texture of the fabric, though I'm not sure if it would be easy to clean if I get something on it. Otherwise, its everything I was looking for in a case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far I love it I thought I would get the pixelskin case but did not like how hard it was to get the folds to stay. This case was simple to use and my new iPad snapped in perfectly. So far the sleep wake function works well and I will just have to see if the fabric stays clean.

The colors are great, the fit is excellent, the on/off feature works perfectly, and it all came at a great price! I really couldn't be happier with this product (unless it were free).

The price is great, the feel of the case is just what I was looking for, soft. I also like that the craddle does not fold into the white frontal part of the iPad, instead it showcases it! I got The red case and it looks very stylish with the white iPad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great simple case for the money Bought this for our house iPad, which we use to run our entertainment system. Good little case/cover that does the job. Keeps the screen safe when not in use, and has multiple stand positions for viewing when it's open. Latch flips on the screen when you open it if the iPad is asleep. Fits the iPad 4 well.

This was a great buy for me, the price point was perfect and it fit like a glove. Shipping was ahead of schedule and you communicated everything I needed. I would buy direct again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classy , Sturdy well made Product This is the 2nd Speck FitFolio I have owned. The first one lasted many years before it started to look a little tired on the inside of the flap. I would highly recommend this product, and intend to purchase one for my next iPad.
