The StarTech.com DP2HDMI2 DisplayPort® to HDMI® Adapter lets you connect an HDMI-enabled display or projector to a DisplayPort out port from a computer (desktop or laptop), eliminating the expense of having to upgrade your display for DisplayPort compatibility.
The adapter supports display resolutions of up to 1920x1200, allowing you to take full advantage of HDMI video capability.
DP2HDMI2 is a passive adapter cable that requires a DP++ port (DisplayPort++), meaning that DVI and HDMI signals can also be passed through the port.
This adapter allows for audio pass-through if supported by the video source. Please review the video source manual to confirm support.

Keep your existing monitor, while upgrading your computer
Works exactly as it should. Simple adapter. Upgraded our workstations which only came with displayport, used these to keep everyone's monitors in place and still upgrade their workstation

Awesome product,
I have been using this for 2 months now. I am so impressed with the performance, quality and durability of the product. Its the best adapter I could find after all my intense research. The output I get is similar to that of an HDMI to HDMI cable.

Great product.
I use over 100 of these in conference rooms in a very large building and the are very reliable. I rarely have to replace them. If I do it because someone has stepped on it or for over use. I've purchased this part for over a year now. I'll keep buying them.

Simple and works
Simple design works well as the short cord prevents the adapter from become an obstruction when working in tight spaces. Good value and great quality

Unidirectional adapter
This device can be turned around to connect a monitor with Display Port input to a computer with HDMI output. Then it won't work. Even though it is a passive device, and the connectors work both ways, it won't adapt an HDMI output to a Display Port input. Now this is in the specifications on this web page. However, when one pulls this adapter out of a drawer, there is no indication on the adapter that it only works in one direction. There is no INPUT and OUTPUT marked. There is no arrow to indicate a direction for the signal. So you won't know until the connection doesn't work.

Worked for our KVM connection.
It fits and it works connected to a Tripplite KVM. Can't ask for more than that from a simple device. Would advise to make sure you don't need an active adapter as this one is passive.
