Perfect dongle for newer laptops
If you're looking for a dongle to allow yourself to hook up to conference room projectors or tvs then this is perfect. Having both HDMI or VGA will mean you won't be stuck unable to present from a newer laptop that only has USB-C ports.
I've been using this for the past few weeks with my Windows 10 laptop and it just works. No drivers install and no messing around with software. The construction of this dongle is very solid as well. It feels like it's made out of aluminum? Another bonus is that it has the VGA screws.

Great video adapter!
I liked everything about this adapter, from the minimalist packaging, to it's compact size (easy for taking on the road) and it's driver-less installation. Windows 10 picked up this adapter and had an image to my monitor in about 30 seconds. Subsequent connections were almost instantaneous. Perfect for presentations!

Perfect!
Small, Simple to install and constructed well. I Installed this device on windows 10 plug and prey and it just worked. It travels well but I wish the cable could be removed to prevent damage while traveling. I like that it has the VGA port and HDMI. The resolution was adequate for my usage. All in all a good product.

Great for presentations on the go!
Small and lightweight and easily fits in a laptop bag or pocket. This video adapter is capable of either HDMI or VGA output at incredible 4K resolution. I have used this adapter in a few work presentations and am very pleased with it. There is no software installation required one simply plugs it in, connects the desired output cable type and away you go. I'll likely be grabbing a few more of these for the other staff that do presentations. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

Great Product!
Use the VGA connection for a projector connection frequently, works great. Needed an HDMI connection in a pinch for a presentation on a large HD TV. Worked great with no issues, love the 2 in 1, very convenient and saves lost of space in my bag!

Handy Adapter for USB-C to HDMI/VGA
I have been working with many Startech.com adapters and this is one of the most handy adapters for USB-C that I have found.
I like the simple adapter of this style as most people will only ever need one of these two video ports when using a USB-C enabled system.
I tested this adapter with both my Mac and my PC.
I found the Mac test worked perfectly for me. I first tested the HDMI and had no issues at all. I then tried the VGA and again it worked flawlessly for me.
The PC did not like the adapter at first but it turned out to be a windows update issue for me. As soon as my system did its windows update the adapter worked without issue.
The video quality was really good and I found no issues with this adapter. I have tested others in the past (not startech.com products) and I was getting some issues but the startech adapter worked without issue.
Overall I would say this is a great product for someone with a USB-C enabled laptop and who needs to have a digital or analog option.

Compact and it just works!
Pocket-sized, so great on the go! Solid build, no drivers were needed with Windows or Macbook. No resolution issues, or hiccups that I've seen with lower-quality devices. Keep in mind that your computer will need to support DP-Alt mode for this to work!
Would like to see the USB-C cord as removable, so I could use a longer one if chose, AND because the device would become useless if something happened to the built-in cable (broken connector, crimped cable, etc.) But those are suggestions, not detractors.

Excellent Travel USB-C to VGA & HDMI Adapter
I have been in the AV/IT Integration space for over 30 years.
I found this unit easy to setup and use on my Microsoft, Android and Apple devices. This is a great unit for the conference table so that most all digital connection types are accommodated, USB-C, HDMI and VGA. The unit installs quickly with no additional drivers or software required, and is compatible with a variety of operating systems, which I tested. This unit is a must for the road warrior for adaption to various conference room displays for presentations.
