Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST 12.9 CASE IN THE UNIVERSE Got this a few weeks back, and I have absolutely no regrets. It feels super rugged and heavy (which for me, is EXACTLY what I need. I don't need a sleek case, I need protection, and the Defender case is just that. I perform a lot so it really helps having a reliable case like this one. I would recommend this to my closest friend as well as my favorite enemy. Everyone deserves such a sick case. Keep it up.

It completely encases the iPad & has a place for ipencil. I love that it stands up with 2 choices a high and a low profile. Thought it was a bit expensive, but it works really well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome!!! Otterbox is the best thing since slice bread. I use Otterbox for all my Apple devices. I recommend it to everyone I come in contact with. I have saved money using this brand. About 3 years ago I had placed my phone, after having to replace it twice, in an Otterbox case. I forgot that I had laid it on top of my car. I drove at regular speed 2 miles before entering the freeway when I saw my phone protected by Otterbox fly across the freeway. I pulled over to get my phone. I saw 5 vehicle run over the case, to include an 18 wheeler. I just knew my phone was dead. But, to my amazement and excitement my phone is yet working today, December 29, 2017, without a scratch. I have had my IPad Otterbox case a little over a week and it is yield the same quality protection. Thank you Otterbox for a job well done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hinge tabs too short I’ve owned Otters for years and have loved them, but I am experiencing a problem with the defender case for the iPad 12.9”. The tabs that serve as hinge pins that are used to stand up the screen are too short to reach through the rubber cover. I have had it fall off the stand several times so now I don’t use the stand.

If your looking for a case to give you maximum protection from bumps and scrapes this is the case. I’ve always likes the Otterbox products for all of my Apple products. They are a little heavier then others but a very quality product. The fit is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Safest Best Case! I've been buying only Otterbox Defender Series cases for a long time now. They keep making them consistent since the first one I bought. The case hard plastic cover for transport has a built in stand. It keeps iPad at a perfect angle to use at the kitchen table or your desk. Has a place to snap in the Apple Pencil for storing and or transport. All the buttons on iPad work just fine with this case. The iPad speakers are not covered so you can hear them like there was no case on at all. Same with the camera lens and microphone. This case is different from the iPad Pro 1. They protect 100% of the time. They keep your device looking brand new so when you sell it or trade it in, you get top dollar. And if you're like me and upgrade iPad, iPhone or whatever brand every time a new one is released, you'll need to keep it in like new condition. You can clean the protective plastic screen protector with eyeglasses cleaner and a soft hand towel. The rubber slip cover can be cleaned with Armor All cleaner.. (not the greasy protector)!!! Rated 5 out of 5 by from best case on the market I've had these for my iphones and never an electronic casualty. And they do get treated roughly on the weekends. After investing $1k in an ipad for my kids, it had to be the best case on the market - and the defender didn't disappoint. We have had no power button problems as in other reviews...it has worked flawlessly...again. It is expensive, but much much cheaper and much less hassle then the apple insurance plan! Only point that could be better...the spot where the apple pencil snaps in doesn't hold it as well as I would like the $100 pencil to be held! A drop in just the right way and a careless removal of the cover could end up in a lost pencil.

The case protects from dirt, dust, and limited rain. The only problem is the screen is not responsive to my iPen about 1/8 inch from the case frame but I can work around it. I’d recommend the case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Typically high quality OtterBox I was disappointed that OtterBox was not ready when the iPad Pro2 12.9" was released, but it was worth the weight (yes, BOTH ways -- wait and weight). The Defender slightly more than doubles the weight of the iPad, but it provides me the secure feeling that my expensive iPad is well protected. I initially had difficulty executing the shut-off/turn-on process, but the excellent customer service staff assured me of the replacement of a defective part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from iPad Pro 12.9 Otterbox Case I have Otterbox cases for all my portable devices and wouldn't bother with any other brand. This one is virtually perfect like all the others. The new iPad is terrific but you're immediately aware of how quickly it's gonna get scratched or broken without protection -- I didn't want to leave the house with it until I had it inside its new case. Perfect fit, clean design, it's excellent. No troubles with the power button like I'd seen in some earlier reviews. The only downside (which you'd really kind of expect is the fingerprint ID through the cover -- it works about half the time. Not an issue since the iPad simply reverts to keypad ID for the unlock. Yep, it's expensive. But well worth it for the protection it provides for an extremely expensive tablet. My wishlist would be a waterproof (or really water resistant) version -- probably easier for Apple to make a waterproof iPad!

I use my IPad Pro for electronic sheet music. Since I use it in a vertical position on my piano, it would be nice if it had more of a non slip edge.

The back of the case is too big and feels like it’s loose. The plastic screen protector on the front of the case stands off the screen a little bit in each corner and you have to press firmly to get the iPad to register your touches.....these things have never been an issue with the many otterbox phone cases I have had. Will have to really think about it before buying another iPad case

Putting it together was straightforward: all buttons and openings lined up and worked perfectly on the first try. The screen protector fit nicely as well, although I would recommend that you clean off the actual iPad screen before you put it together. The item was a little expensive, but I elected not to obtain the AppleCare Warranty, so I feel over time this will be a better investment.

A blue and sea foam green case or a pink or purple case would be absolutely perfect. The function of the case is wonderful as I have come to expect from otterbox. But please make other color options. I would be willing to buy this again in some better colors. If more color options are added I will update my review.

I’ve been an Otter fan since sole inception and I’d never trust another case over theirs. One gripe..,.the colour choice is dreadful. Black!!! Really? And unlike in the advertisment , it has only two positions, and of those the horizontal position is the only useful position. The cover has to be pried off, and laid assign to use it. It’s not practical. It’s priced to way to high for the trouble of using it.

You have to remove the cover a bit to access them. Also, it would have been nice to see a cover over the camera lens as I don't use it that often but would like to protect it.

Unfortunately the IPad Pro one seems to not have a perfect fit for the start button, top right corner, since it does not work, I have tried adjusting better the case with no results, so I don't use it. I simple wait until the IPad goes off by itself, it is a bit annoying since this is one of the priciest cases in the market. Sorry I wasn't expecting more based on my other 3 cases.

I HAVE BIG HANDS AND I CAN TYPE ON THE IPAD PRO NO DIFFERENTLY THAN I DO ON MY MACBOOK PRO. I USE OTTER BOX DEFENDER ON MY PHONE AND NOW ON MY IPAD PRO. I AM FREQUENTLY ON THE ROAD AND OTTER BOX GIVES THE PRODUCT THE PROTECTION I NEED TO FEEL IT WILL NEVER BE DAMAGED AND THE STAND ON THE COVER IS REALLY CONVENIENT FOR WATCHING MOVIES AND FOR TYPING.

I put on a protective glass on the face to protect the screen better and it fit like a champ. The stand works well and if you do not need it, just snap it on front or back, no problem. Thanks

First, it is very solid protection. Second, they always fit the devices perfect Third, they are not slippery due to the rubbery coating on the outside. Best cases ever!!

Gives rubbery, grippy, edge to grab on to, that allows you to keep a hold on Apple’s slippery glass-like device. Cover stand works well in landscape orientation, but a bit steep in portrait position.

They come out of the case as beautiful as they went in. However I was disappointed not to have color choices, or at least some personalization option for my new ipad.

To be honest, I fought a bit with my husband because I really wanted something designer, or at the very least cute! He insisted that I try it in spite of my complaints that it would be far too bulky, clunky, and cheap-looking. But as soon as the case was on the iPad I had to speak the dreaded words: “You’re right.” It’s quite slim considering how protective it is! And the matte black color is understated and sleek. Also, I’ve dropped it about a dozen times in the last month. Not only is my iPad in perfect condition, but the case doesn’t have any scratches or scuff marks (and that includes a time it slipped from my fingers and skittered across the asphalt. My Louis Vuitton Trunk iPhone Case did not fare so well...). I highly recommend this case!

The case install was easy and it offers good protection. The unique stand for the iPad allows for several viewing angles. I found that the viewing angle works well for content watching. All the ports are accessible and the sound from the speakers is not muffled at all. The plastic that covers the iPad screen seems to work well. I'm quite happy with this purchase.

It fits as designed and certainly appears to offer ample protection from damage. We actually have 2 of these as we each have an i Pad. The only issue experienced so far has to do with positioning the power button projection to function correctly all the time. Mine works as it should, my wife's is hit and miss. Have removed the rubber cover several times to realign it and it works for a while.

At this point the pad is too big for him to carry. After several falls from 3' the case is in perfect shape as well as the pad inside. The holder for the pencil is a great touch for storage.

Otterbox had not come out with their's yet.I knew I would be waiting my money but I did not want to take the risk of dropping it . As soon as Otterbox released their new one I purchased it. The Otterbox is superior to any other one on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Many pros n cons I enjoy how safe I feel it is but the button for lock doesn't want to work properly I end up putting a little paper inside to make it work. Also the screen protector its AWFUL!! I use my iPad to make my arts and anything can make me change my mind about my matte screen protector. And the most awful thing it's the price. It really not worth that price, it's insane. The other days I saw it in another store for just 57... I was really mad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highest Quality...Just What I would Expect! I am so happy that I bought this. I have an Otter Box for my Galaxy S8+, and I am SO happy, so I tried this. It seems even better than that. It has a place for the $99 Pencil too. That's the only thing that I'm less than happy on, as it could stand to hold the pencil better. Other than that, it is perfect! Just as an FYI, my mom was in the hospital, and the doctors at the hospital use them as well, so...yeah. Just to show how awesome these are.

Its like an armour suit, its awesome..all of my otter box product are beast tough and in form:function are at 1:1... i cant put the same trust into anything else... it makes it as quick as grab `n go... no worries ever... this made it my 4th defender and an easy must have for my ipad pro 2 with some fine tuning to the on-off button access and resizing the lightening port outlet, this is a much needed alteration to allow these to be used most efficiently for a quick screen shot or an ipencil 15second quick charge. and then its back to the the 1:1 form to function ratio. thanks for askin... nate

I also have one for my iPhone 7Plus that is about 1 years old and I drop it all the time. If you are clumsy and drop things like I do then get this for you Apple products fits perfectly.I Like otter Box Cases...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mostly good. I have been use otterbox case for all of my apple product, mostly I am satisfied so far,just one problem this time, the button for the volume of the iPad Pro doesn't work most of the time.
