If In Doubt About A Part,visit the Dell Chat at Support Site.
I was not sure this item would fit my 3471 small form Inspiron,so I did chat at the Dell support site.They looked at the service tag info for my 3471 ( Inspiron) and confirmed for me that the part would fit and work.The part arrived and I attached it so that I can extend a second monitor.Everything works great.

IT works beautifully.
This device saves me hundreds of dollars. Works perfectly and beautifully. Instead of buying a new TV, I just needed to buy this converter to change input from VGA to HDMI and WA-LA, it works.

I purchased this adapter so that I could project from my iPad Pro to projectors that work off of VGA cables in my office. This was a simple plug and play unit, and I would recommend to anyone with a compatible HDMI input.

Very useful, if you have enough space between this and the USB on your laptop. Kind of tight due to its width. But desktop machines probably do not present this issue.

I find it is always difficult to assess any product properly when proposing to purchase it over the internet. I always like to handle the goods and 'feel' the quality of it up close, which of course can't be done 'on-line'.
In the case of the HMDI to VGA adapter I purchased from Dell though, these concerns were soon quashed. I found the product to be very well made and of good quality, and after installation, it performed its job without any issues.
Needless to say, I am now very happy with my purchase from Dell. Thankyou.

HDMI laptop to VGA monitor
I got a new laptop from work, which only has an HDMI port. I have a large monitor at home, but only with a VGA input... Since both bits of kit were Dell, I thought this would be the best adapter to get. It does indeed seem to do the job well. I had to play around a little with the monitor settings (Pixel Clock and Phase) but it seems good now.

A good piece of equipment
A very useful item which has enabled us to retain our original monitor when purchasing our new desktop. On receipt we could not quite see how it would work and some sort of instruction would have been useful (although this doesn’t seem to happen with computers!). Fortunately the people who set up our new equipment knew what to do with it.

Brilliant to let me use my old monitor with a new computer
I needed to get a new desktop computer, but my old monitor was working fine. The new computer only came with an HDMI connection, and my monitor uses VGA. This adaptor connects into the back of the computer (and doesn't stick out any further at the rear), allowing me to use the old VGA cables to connect the monitor to my new PC.
It works perfectly, and has saved me needlessly scrapping my old monitor!

The HDMI to VGA adapter works as advertised but I long for the day when computer laptops return to having all of our appropriate connections built-in like they used to be. It’s weird that I have to use two dongle‘s to get to the VGA connector.
